BREAKING: Official Charges Filed Against Mandan Murder Suspect

Isaak entered the building in a bright colored top, dark pants and bright colored headgear. He was the sole individual inflicting injury according to the documents. When he left the building surveillance video shows him wearing dark colored clothing.

An RJR vehicle was then seen leaving the area. Surveillance video from multiple businesses along the strip shows how he fled the scene, including ditching the vehicle at Indigo Signs parking lot before walking west to where his Ford F-150 was parked at McDonald's. Surveillance cameras from area businesses showed the suspect wearing a covering over his head.

I was also wondering what, specifically, the 'unauthorized use of a vehicle' refers to, especially considering what we know about the vehicles seen arriving and leaving on surveillance video.

The Latest: Complaint: Suspect sought to fool security cam

MANDAN, N.D. – The Latest on bodies found at a business in Mandan, North Dakota (all times local):

12:40 p.m.

A criminal complaint and affidavit accuses a North Dakota man of trying to deceive surveillance video and then bleaching weapons and his clothing after killing four people.

Chad Isaak is charged with four counts of murder in Monday's attack at RJR Maintenance and Management in Mandan, a town near the capital of Bismarck. All four slain were RJR employees.

Investigators say surveillance video shows Isaak entering RJR wearing brightly colored clothing, then leaving in dark clothing after the slayings. They say a search of his home found a knife with bent blade tip, parts of a handgun and clothing all bearing traces of chlorine bleach.

The complaint also says nine bullet casings were found at his house. The victims were believed to have been shot nine times. The victims were also stabbed.

The complaint doesn't give a possible motive

Mandan, ND has a population of about 20,000. Many of residents are old timers that farmed the outer area for years-- and move to "town" when they are older. Not unusual for many of them to be on a "cash basis." Also, like MT, ND is another place with vast pocket areas of no cell/internet service so again many of the services we take for granted are not readily available, part of their lifestyle, and/or desired. MOO

This is not quite true. Most of ND has really good cell service (reservation land is the exception). Most people here are not on a cash basis- some of the older people are. Most people do not actually carry cash at all anymore. Mandan is typically thought of as a "sleeper community" in that a lot of the residents work in Bismarck and live in Mandan. It has a very active young population. There are some "old farmers" that moved to town but not that many. The big change in Mandan came with the oil boom a few years ago. Although the oil country is techinically farther west, a lot of people still came into the area. Since there there has been an increase in all sorts of crime and violence.

I know this because I live in Mandan. I have lived in several other states and do not feel like we do not have services that other states have. Maybe less food options, but services are generally the same. We are not backwoods.

Also it is really common to have friends of friends here, I see it all the time with my local friends- so it wouldn't surprise me to see connections between RJR and some of the friends of CI. I doubt any of the victims would have driven to Washburn to see him- there are many many good chiropractors in the Bismarck/Mandan area.

My husband grew up in the same town as CI (he is a few years younger than CI). I tried to get info out of him last night but he didn't say much. Couldn't place him but my husband just wanted to go to sleep and not talk to me about it..

Thanks, I saw that too but then the article Nick linked refers to a different owner.

“Rolf Eggers says he bought the mobile home park in Washburn last fall and Isaak "came with the park." Eggers says that he didn't know Isaak. He says neighbors never complained about him."

In latest news, looks like RJR (still) manages the lot:

Mandan Police Chief Jason Ziegler said authorities do not yet have a motive, but that Isaak lived on property managed by the company, RJR Maintenance and Management. Police found the bodies on Monday.

He could be charged with burglary because he entered RJR’s building with the intent to commit a crime.

Bond at $1 mil or $1mil cash?

Prosecutor asked for $1 mil cash, but judge only said $1 mil.

Does anyone have a copy of the Complaint?

I just went back and re-listened and judge does not say cash.

Right.

I also have the impression that CI hired an attorney, rather than asking for a public defender.
