220 calories? That's tough! I couldn't do it. No way.

But I will say this about broccoli. I used to hate it. I thought it was the most boring vegetable on the planet until one of my ex-boyfriends from long ago fixed dinner one night and squeezed lime juice on the broccoli and added a seasoning called Badia Complete Seasoning (I think it's a Spanish or Latin brand, but you can find it in Publix and World Market). Anyway, now I crave broccoli:seeya:

Really. And it's not like I have a tone of weight to lose, about 10 lbs. I think I can figure out a more acceptable diet plan that I can live with. Broccoli is ok, but I ate it so much for those two or three weeks, I'm now absolutely sick of it. I have confidence I can figure it out on my own, more than 220 calories that's for sure, lol.

Yum! Rum Raisin?? Putting that on my list to try!

"Sick as a Dog"!!! Have no idea where that originated, but it reminds me of the time my nephew put the dog in a the spare bedroom and gave him an entire birthday cake. No one knew until a few hours later when we started wondering where the dog was and the house started smelling like dog poop. Poor dog ate most of the cake and was so sick! He could have died! He was okay, but we had to replace the carpet immediately. I have never seen so much dog diarrhea in all my life!!!

Re BBM

I can attest that a dozen chocolate covered Egclair donuts has a similar effect. :floorlaugh:

Note to self: Keep the donuts on top of the fridge on not on the kitchen counter because it is not dog jump proof. :floorlaugh:

This is exactly how it feels...only I do wear pjs!
It used to happen to me a lot, the scary part for me was the feeling of somebody pushing down on me, i would swear somebody was there. It happened more when I slept on my stomach, and then when I was flat on my back. I haven't had it in a while and really don't know why it stopped, but I don't miss it. :seeya:

Hilarious attachment! Describes it well!

I've had it happen to me a few times. It's the most awful feeling. It's like you are trapped somewhere between being asleep and awake and you can not move your limbs. You want to move and you try - AND YOU CAN'T! It's very scary! I haven't happen in years and hope it never happens again! Awful!

HA HA! I'm sorry!

I was just getting ready to ask you how you are feeling now that you have gone gluten free and then I saw this post! Keep up with the good work! I've wanted to try gluten free, but it seems so overwhelming and I don't know where to begin, and I'm not sure I have the will power to stick with it! :seeya:

Gypsy, I am feeling quite good. I fought it for a long time, even though I had food allergy tests done, that came up gluten intolerant- along with a ton of other things I eat on a daily basis, I just wasn't ready. I now think I probably have leaky gut from the gluten (celiacs most likely) and the RAST test showed all sorts of other things as allergies because it was in my blood stream.

When the leaky gut was mentioned I was like nah- not me. I am regular, always have been, I don't have acid reflux and never get heartburn but I have had the worst gas in the past 2 years, semi regularly, that was just bizarre.

Within just a couple days- it was gone- and I mean gone. I have not had to use my daily asthma inhaler for several weeks and have not had an asthma attack or back pain. Now, I can go a long time without either one of those so we shall see but for now- it looks promising and I feel good. I am not bloated and feel better. My husband says he notices a difference in my skin- and I do too.

Paleo
grass fed meats, organic veggies, fruits and nuts

We learned not to leave food on the counters because the Pit bull would get it down and share it with the Pom.

Ok I'm gonna post this song then take my ice cream filled self to bed...this song just says longing to me.

My mom was an amazing baker. She would take orders and bake goodies at the house. My brothers would deliver the baked goods to folks that were waiting patiently for them.

Mom would always get a call at some point during the day stating that it appeared that one of my brothers had run his finger thru the icing on the cakes to sample it. Lol. They were rascals

Tigerbalm! Good for you. I am eating much more healthy with organic and whole foods. I could see myself going there eventually, especially for our children's sake, with cheating on special occasions and such.

Now that you mention chocolate donuts, I so envy anyone who can eat what they want. I so miss eating junk food. I know it's not good for me, but I still miss it. Carrot cake, coconut cake, german chocolate cake, honeybuns, that junky white cake from the grocery store bakery... hell, anything, the list goes on. I don't even keep anything like that in my house. Oh well, I guess there are worse things. :sigh:

I better hit the hay too. Tomorrow is the littlest ones early day and I have her spry little pal after school- through dinner time. Night funny people. Oh, and I see you lurking Labadorable... I'll be in touch! :)

Thanks! I got up to get some ice cream and everything froze! :scared:

The thing that sticks with me is trying to scream, and even my voice would feel frozen too. It's scary, but fascinating!:seeya:

Bobs Mill has a wonderful gluten free brownie mix. I ad cranberries dried cherries and lots of organic nuts to mine. Fab

That's really great to hear, Frigga. I can imagine how hard it was to accept it and then change your diet - having to give up things you love, but if you feel better in the long run then it's all well worth it! You'll find substitutes for the things you enjoy! Baby steps, right?! Every time I'm in the grocery store I'm seeing more and more things available for those who need a gluten free diet. Good for you for keeping at it! That's great that you are feeling better and seeing results in your skin!!! :)

I don't have any stomach and digestive issues really, but I have a terrible problems with allergies while eating. It's the strangest thing. Almost every single time I eat - especially breads, or carbs in general, my nose starts to run so bad I have to leave the table. It lasts for over an hour or so after I eat. It's one thing when it happens at home, but if I'm out at lunch or dinner- people have commented and it's embarrassing. My doctor says I don't have any food allergies and that food allergies wouldn't cause that - but she has never tested me!

I have read up on that, just don't know if I could tolerate it. I know my DH couldn't, lol. Thanks for the tip though :seeya:

It's actually not as bad as you would think, once you get off gluten and any other foods that make you sick. If you cheat and eat them, you notice right away how crappy you feel and don't want them anymore.

Paleo and primal websites have a lot of recipes for yummy food, just made with good ingredients instead of processed or GMO junk.

Yes! It's like you are trying all your might to scream and nothing comes out - or maybe a little tiny "ahhhhh" comes out. I'm not sure! Scary!

Does the doctor...Allergist test for all food allergies or should I request a specific test? Thanks much.

Dying over here!! The mental picture in my head of little boys "sampling" the icing! Hilarious!
