Thanks all of you for your kind words and advice. I love you guys! I really did take your posts to heart today...I read off and on while running around like a madwoman at work (my boss is an idiot, I swear).

Definitely going to take a little step back. I ALWAYS fall too hard, too fast. Each guy I date is "the one." So far this guys seems really great. We don't have plans again until Sunday evening...were going to hang out tonight but I told him I was too tired and need to just relax.
To answer questions, he was married for 10 years, been divorced for 2. Good relationship with his ex....custody arrangement is very flexible. Their 3rd child was a "surprise," after that he made it so he can't have any more kids lol. He's very respectful when he talks about his ex.

He is looking for a commitment, just hasn't found the one yet. I'm not going to put myself in a "friends with benefits" situation...I tried that a few years ago and learned the hard way that I'm too emotional for casual relationships.

Anyway, I just took my sheets out of the dryer and they smell so good! Does anyone else hate making their bed? I'm actually contemplating sleeping on the couch tonight because I don't have the energy to make my bed lol.
BBMs Maybe this guy could be "the one", but it takes time to find out.
Glad you are thinking about yourself and told him you were tired- can't let his needs come first; remember- you are important to yourself.

As for the bed making- I like clean sheets- so smooth and crisp (I hate wrinkles). I like making my bed- do it right after I have my coffee and a cigarette. My son's bed is another story- he has his mattress and box spring on the floor and it is difficult to make (for me), so guess who makes it? :floorlaugh:
I like sleeping on my old, comfy couch and always take a nap while "watching" TV in the afternoon. It actually is a sleeper couch (queensize), but I never use it that way- it's so comfortable just sleeping on the actual couch.

I'm so glad you have ,at least, started to see someone else and pray that you find your way in the crazy dating scene (I wouldn't want to be there again- :floorlaugh:)

I'm very happy and proud of you for thinking about all these things and taking it slow. Take your time, have fun, no pressures, take breaks to rest and see where it all goes. There's no reason to rush! Relationships get better and better as the time passes, so don't jump too fast in getting to know him. :)

Thank you daisy :) It's tough! Time to start learning from my past mistakes though...gonna take a few days to breathe and think.

How are you feeling?

M, sweetie, glad that you are going to take a step back.

Think back to when you were a teenager and started dating. Was marriage or a long term commitment ever in your mind? If you're like most people, probably not. You just wanted someone of the other sex to be interested in you, to show you love, cuddle and maybe more and feel like you were special, pretty and loveable.

Enjoy dating for dating. Think about Travis's blog discussing finding a wife. Not only is it a very hard interview, if that is your goal, it often blinds you to/from certain things. You may have a preconceived notion of what is the "right man" in terms of a husband that shuts out the perfect man to be your husband. By dating and just getting to know different men better and at the same time, learning to share yourself, you will find out more about men, yourself and relationships.

Good luck and have fun!

Wow. Thank you so much for this, really. Lots of food for thought. Like I said to Daisy, I'm going to take a step back, take a few days to breathe and do some soul searching.

Thank you so much for mentioning Travis's blog. Really puts things in perspective.

You make me laugh :floorlaugh: We're too much alike with our smoking. I did actually make my bed...cannot wait to crawl into those fresh, comfy sheets!

My mother used to iron sheets! Can you imagine?

I'm going to confess... I absolutely love doing laundry and making my bed. I draw the line at ironing sheets!

My mother would iron her sheets, too. I think that was because, back then, sheets were not "permanent press" and were very wrinkled when they came out of the dryer. My mother also ironed dish towels, undershirts and underwear (her mother ironed socks :floorlaugh:- I draw the line on socks :scared:). My mother said she wanted her clothes drawers to look nice and organized (as if everyone was going to look in them :floorlaugh:- "what would the people say" was her motto).
I'm the same as my mother now (I'm turning into my mother as I get older  :giggle:), God love her and rest in peace.

Ooh, I'm totally going to try that! What brand of dryer sheets do you use? I'm seriously in love with Gain, had never bought them before until now. :blushing:

I'm a pillow freak too...you can't have too many pillows.

Suavitel
Field flowers scent
I buy it at Dollar Tree

Ok, a vanity question. (Since Zuri isn't here yet to ask her nightly, thought-provoking question ;) )

How do you wear your fingernails? Do you even care? Professional manicures?

I hate long fingernails on myself. If I'm typing and my fingernails touch the keyboard I cringe. I can't really afford a professional manicure so I treat myself once a week or so and do it myself. Rarely do I put color polish on my fingernails. I go all out on my toenail polish colors though!

My mother just loved, loved Gain when it came out. She loved the smell and how it made the laundry smell.
How is there room on your bed for you with all those pillows? :floorlaugh:

I just keep my fingernails clean & filed & buffed med length.

I get regular pedicures. I never had one until I was 30 yrs old! I go faithfully every 3 weeks. Treat yourself:)

It's never a problem with me as I am a nail biter. I think I picked up the habit after thumb sucking. :floorlaugh:

I use the Suavitel fabric softner and love the smell. I buy it at BJ's. I use to use Downey, but I swear they changed the smell and don't like it anymore.

well, my mom didn't do housework as she always had a "maid". I remember as a child when mom left to go somewhere, me and the "maid" played Monopoly and had a good time. :floorlaugh:

I cut my nails when they get too long and then file them so they are smooth and have no ragged edges.
When I worked on Wall St., I always went for a manicure and kept them longer, but not too long. Always like beige/rose nail polish.
It was part of "the image", to be polished and professional ("what would the people say" :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: ).

Stopping in for a few. I am always logged in so it looks like I am here all the time.
How you all doing? Wanted to check in to see how M's date went.

Same here.............guilty as charged! The computer is on most of the day and I never log out when I turn it off

I'm almost 34 and I've never had a pedicure! My feet are so ticklish...I'm afraid I'd kick someone in the face if they touched my feet. And i have such ugly toes...my second toe is longer than my big toe and curves funny lol.

Evening daisy :seeya:
I use to bite my nails, but stopped when I started getting manicures (that really helped).
My younger son bites his nails, also ( maybe it's hereditary ??:floorlaugh:).

Broke the bank today for a nice dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday and mine tomorrow.

My birthday was on the 20th, but we were at the tail end of a heat wave and it would have been brutal here without air conditioning.

Menu

Hors d"oeuvres:

Guacamole and chips
Deviled eggs
Olive tray

Steamers

Caprese salad

Boiled Maine lobster
Grilled eggplant, zucchini, valdivia onions and portabella mushrooms dressed with rosemary and lemon vinaigrette
Rustic bread

Pineapple gingerbread upsidedown cake with whipped cream

Dad will be 81 years young tomorrow. :bdsong:, Daddy!

I was watching the Real Housewives of Orange County. They are not as cute at all not even close as the baby pandas that I have not seen. I find them a very interesting character study as in "Who acts like this?"

Take a gander at "Bridezillas" or the "Bad Girl's Club". Not only will you say "Who acts like this?" but you'll also say "There's gotta be a law for those kind of women!" :floorlaugh:
