Well we know she has a second career as a nightclub flamenco dancer

HA! She can only dream. The typical Sevillana dress is a bit more modest.

hmmmmmmm... I was up then, never noticed anything. But I'm smack dab in the middle of Dearborn, Dearborn Hgts, Livonia, Westland. I didn't feel the 1 in the early 80's either. Too bad it didn't shake any dust off the tables would have saved me from dusting.

I think she wore that huge cross the other day in case she needed to use it on JA!

eta: Do crosses burn Vampires?
She survived the Holy water when baptized....

You know, you've got a point there. :floorlaugh:

Here is my one exception to having shopping be a part of a vacation - Harrods

OMG, check out the food section, it's a blast.

And Tower of London, such an awesome place, esp if you have even a little knowledge of BritHist. We got to go to the key ceremony one time, but you have to request tickets months in advance for that. (You follow the guards at night while they lock up the crown jewels, the Tower is closed to the public at that time)

Have fun and mind the gap!

We lived about an hour north of London, and would always take the train in for the day/night.

The Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace is impressive, as is Carnaby St., in a different way. You might also enjoy Westminster Abbey. And, since you're with 2 teens, they may like going to Tower Records in London, just to say they did.

I couldn't do it either... Im claustrophobic I'd be a mess within 5 mins

Maybe JA is getting a good idea of what the rest of her life will be like since she's been put in the new cell block (23 hours solitary/ day). Maybe she will come back to court Monday and admit she planned it all out, that she is evil, and that she deserves the DP. It could happen...

You guys have obviously never had Chicago-style Deep Dish Pizza!!! The best pizza in the Whole Wide World- is Geno's West in Chicago. Fortunately, we have a chain here called Zachary's, which is pretty darn close!

TexMex! I wanted to thank you so much for that wonderful banana quesadilla recipe! OMG, that is so delicious, I have eaten it for dinner twice in the last week. Yes, for DINNER! haha. It's my favorite new thing. Thanks again!
:Banane21: :bananajump: :Banane09:

I hope all recipes are making it to the recipe thread for a later date!!

I know .. it's nuts though .. this is what I mean about her own PD getting in the way of an effective defence .. is there any precedent for this .. I really wish Nurmi would get up at the end and say that Jodi is her own worst enemy, the only strategy she would agree on involved trashing Travis, this was doomed to backfire and provoke the public and the jury, but she wouldn't listen, can you look beyond the strategy to simply what happened .. or something along those lines. I'm not saying she should get anything less than the DP, I just want a real argument based on truths, because a stupid art show, a druggie friend who hadn't seen her for years, an ex boyfriend who may have the IQ and moral backbone of a squid, and Jodi herself rambling on in the witness box about how awesome she is, just ain't going to cut it .. and I don't know, maybe I'd just like to see a worthy debate in there ..

I don't know what is going on with that mitigation opening, but it was bad. Nothing though that can be held on habeas for ineffective counsel. I get the idea that Wilmott would rather be a prosecutor and Nurmi just gave up at some point.

Would it save JA? No. Even the most seasoned and best Capital Defense Attorney could not. Not with those photos, and who the heck puts a defendant on the stand at all, much less for days without end. A new approach with a hope to win?

All of that is moot. The smoking gun(s) were there. The attorneys did what the law provides. They did a lot more than the law provides. It was a loosing case, but, I don't see her attorneys opposed to the death penalty. That is never a question in the appellate arena, it just is. I don't see it here. Just my observations, and not appellate worthy.

LOL Yeah I obey the laws as much as I can :)

Being stuck in a jail cell or a really in confinded space where I have no control is one of my biggest fears...

so Id turn into a complete wuss if I were thrown in jail lol

I hear ya!
I got to skip the "jail" rotation in nursing school.
I weighed less than 100# and I was not allowed to do that
rotation at the local jail.
(not sure why...they had guards there!)
anyway I got extra time in the nursing home. - not a lot better,
but the doors didn't lock behind me.

My friends said their "jail rotations" were AWFUL!
Some that didn't have claustrophobia teased about developing it there.

Definitely not appellate worthy, her team has done their job, it's clear she refuses to take good advice and that's on her.

It seems the party has started. Crown and diet coke for me. How many drinks behind am I?

LOL It's all good, sister! Just don't call it REAL pizza. I buy dough from Trader Joe's sometimes... put a bunch weird stuff on it and call it ... Concoction.

What exactly is Trader Joe's ? We dont have it here back east. Ive heard it mentioned along with 2BuckChuck, but had to use my creative imagination to fill in the blanks.

omg, I havent had Taylor ham sammies since NJ..Hoboken...every time I visit my fmaily there I eat Taylor ham..

just sayin lol

I just noticed fmaily lol meant family

I need new eye glasses

I loved those! Here in VA, we called them "Hot Taylor Sandwiches" Do they even make that stuff anymore??? I remember they came in a red box at the grocery. Haven't seen it for years.

Accidentally hearing this is how I found out about this case, believe it or not.
This is honestly the one good thing I've found about the convicted killer. :thud:

However, that's the sad and infuriating thing too. Why didn't she make something of herself?
Why didn't she take singing lessons, audition for American Idol? Do something?
Didn't anyone ever TELL her that she had a decent voice? That might have a chance?

She might have been famous for a GOOD reason and Travis might still be here.

Sure she should have done something with her life but I wouldn't call her a lost artistic talent or singing star, NO WAY. No one would even turn their head to hear her out here. There is too much talent and she's very average. She could never handle rejection anyway.

Oooooh....dueling Jodi shows...shoot.

Its 80's movie night here. Every Friday I rent a classic 80's movie for my daughter and I to watch. Tonight is "the Lost Boys". Time to show her what "real" movie vampire heart-throbs are.....:dracula:

A couple pages back I believe I mentioned the vampire heart-throbs:rockon:

I wish you all wouldn't use the word budding to describe JA. It makes me think of blight.

It's like budget 'whole foods'.
