Are you looking forward to the next 89 days of this year? I'm glad the last 276 are over.

1941 - Willie Gillis Jr., a fictional everyman created by illustrator Norman Rockwell, makes his first appearance, on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post; a series of illustrations on several magazines' covers would depict young Gillis throughout World War II.

1949 - The Life of Riley staring Jackie Gleason debuts on NBC. It was not a success, and was reborn in 1953 starring William Bendix as Chester A. Riley.

1954 - "December Bride" debuted on CBS-TV. I remember my mother watching it while she ironed.

1957 - Ward, and June, Wally and Theodore open their make believe world to us in "Leave It to Beaver," debuts on CBS

1959 - Jay North brings us Dennis The Menace. Poor Mr. Wilson

Norman Rockwell - love his illustrations - I've done some 3-D pictures of his drawings!

Life of Riley - with the one with William Bendix

December Bride - loved that show; also "I Married Joan"!

The Beaver - I can see this on ME-TV!! Yes, I watch it still...

and Dennis the Menace, poor Mr. Wilson! LOL!

Oh - YESorNO - I'm going to see my hip-surgeon tomorrow!! Still hurting a bit...

Hi everyone. Are we horse aunts yet?

Is there anything on the killers agenda for tomorrow?

The attorneys begin questioning jurors tomorrow.

Why is hearsay in quotes? It was hearsay. And the only way to get that letter in is to call Chris Hughes and he has already explained the email and that the reason he wrote it, and later regretted, was because Jodi was, at that time, trying to turn Travis and the Hughes' against each other by telling them exaggerated things about their relationship and about Travis. Yes, CH does use the word "abuse" but said that in a later email in the same chain he retracted the word because it was too harsh.

No way the defense wants to open that can of worms so they will never introduce the letter. They just get their favorite reporter to print one sided presentations of it to continue his own personal jury tainting campaign.

How about let CH explain the email himself. Yeah...that's what I thought.

I think those "hearsay" emails may be brought in for missy's:jail: mitigation:

On pg 6 of the new motion:

Mentions that Det. Flores:

"told this court that he didn't find anything out of the ordinary in Mr. Alexander's G-mail account ... Despite being characterized as ordinary by Det. Flores, it is of importance to note the relevant and excalupatory content found in Mr. alexander's G-mail account:

1. A January 27, 2007 email sent from Mr. Alexander to Chris and Sky Hughes complaining about their decision to tell Ms. Arias that he is abusive towards women.

2. Mrs Hughes' response that she sent to Mr. Alexander the same day, wherein she points out that Mr. Alexander refers to Jodi as "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬" and that he kepts his relationship with her a secret.

3. A response from Mr. Hughes sent on January 31, 2007 wherein he asserts that he believed Jodi would be his [Travis'] next victim and that Jodi was just another girl that he [Travis] was playing.

4. Mr. Alexander's response to Mr. Hughes that he sent on January 31, 2007, wherin he admits that with certain people "I am a bit of a sociopath."

5. An e-mail sent from Ms. Hughes to Mr. Alexander on this same topic wherein she describes Travis using Jodi as a "booty call". How he, Mr. Alexander, was abusive to Jodi and "not nice to girls", how he was beating her emotionally in part by making out without giving her a commitment. in this email Ms. Hughes further chastises Mr. Alexander for only giving Jodi 3am phone calls and make out fests...."

This retrial will be all about mitigation (or should be).

Missy, in her new mitigation (see items 5 and 6 on page 4), is stating that she was "emotionally" abused by Travis, "emotional stress" :blah::blah::blah: .

Even tho' these e-mails were deemed "hearsay", I'm thinking she can state the emails as proof of said abuse and Jm cannot object to anything she says in her mitigation or that's how I understand

it. Those e-mails will be out there for the jurors to hear, even if JM says they are "hearsay". I hope I'm wrong.

If this is so, these are damning statements that were made by Chris and Sky Hughes in their e-mails for the new jurors to hear, no matter what they said after, IMO.

I'm a little bit worried. There could be jurors, just like the foreman who accepted ALV's assessment as proof of emotional abuse, now accepting these e-mails as proof of emotional abuse.

(Is this trial over yet- it's very stressful. :scared:)

I don't think that Kiefer is anyone's favorite reporter- not even Nurmi/Wilmott's.

He's just like any reporter who wants "the big scoop", the first to release "the big bombshell tonight" moment under his belt.

If Beth Karas had released this, no one would say anything, IMO- or would they then dislike her?? Anyway, why so much detain for Kiefer? I just don't understand the animosity towards him.:dunno:

Is there something I'm missing here?

That was my favorite, too. Especially the part where one of the Ninjas took the time to go through her purse and get her address off her driver's license so they could come after her at a later date if she told anyone.
An address which was a P.O. Box in a different city nowhere near Yreka, IIRC! Yeah, like she lives in a PO Box.

And it listed a p.o box. She said the male ninja was standing at the end of the carpet by the bathroom. Right where she slit Travis's throat. I think that is what she told, and was repeated by ALV? I remember ALV saying Jodi told her that she got the knife from the dresser by the bed, and that yes, Jodi's finger was bent if she held it a certain way.

LOL that ***** from California. You've come to kill someone with a 25 caliber gun, and take the time to argue about leaving a witness, the man not wanting to, and you run pass him and grab your purse/backpack off the dresser and out the door. Kinda like running down that hall with Travis in fast pursuit, making it into the closet , a leap up on a shelf seven feet to grab a gun from back of a shelf and out the door backwards.

Big as an average household cat...just has Doxie-like legs. Bizarre looking in my mind...not really sure if this was something that should have been bred but I digress...

As I read the rules - you can use a P.O. Box on your Calif. driver's license as at "temporary" address; starting Nov. 11 (I think?) - you will NOT be able to use P.O. Box #s...

Maybe the Organization of Arizona Ninjas got together and lobbied for this change in California DMV policy. Certainly a PO Box on a driver's license makes it difficult to find the witness to brutal murder who wasted no time pointing the finger at them during LE interrogation after they were kind enough to let her go...

did-i-miss-smiley.gif

Couple things:

I don't think you're correct that Jodi can introduce these emails into her mitigation, without resistance. This is a mitigation phase, yes, but it's basically a trial. You can't just admit letters and emails, willy nilly. There has to be some grounds for it. And Juan can still call Chris Hughes to explain them away, which he would, no doubt. However, this email is old news.

And yes, you are missing quite a bit about Michael Kiefer. It's not about just getting a scoop. I don't really want to get into all of it, but there is a reason I choose to ignore what he posts/writes.

He has said many unsavory things to our KCL about Travis and his family in support of Arias. The thing that stands out most to me, from memory: "they're just upset (his siblings) because they had to find out what a pig their brother is."

He did a huge piece on Juan Martinez and the prosecutor's office and how corrupt they are. He seems to have a strong hatred of Juan and it shows in the articles he writes. He has said unsavory things about him to our KCL, as well.

He puts a pro defense spin on everything he writes. This is not imagined. It's been reported that he's not very respected among his peers because of this. Seems to have access to things, like this email, that no one else does. He is not printing it to be a good reporter. He is trying to spin opinion in Jodi's favor. Notice how he never leaks anything that favors the state? He also has leaked things like motions, who the foreman was before anyone knew, etc. this is not imagined either. Juan hinted in a motion earlier this year that he is aware of the DT running to this reporter to report what they want to get out there, but having things they don't want out under seal. He also insinuated some of the stuff is stuff that it was wrong to let out. When I myself asked him to maybe report things with less of a slant he told me he's "just reporting the truth" and blocked me on twitter.

And then there is the flat out lie he told about the defense having to walk out the side door everyday because of threats while Juan walks out the front door everyday so he can sign autographs everyday. KCL tells this one much better than me but that's the gist. None of that is true. The DT strutted by the media trucks every single day, smiling for the cameras, as evidenced by the many pictures of them doing so. While Juan walked out the side door everyday and off to his office, save for the one day when a news station was doing a story on him and autograph-gate happened.

I could go on but you get the point. There IS a reason why some posters, myself included, object to his tweets being posted here among the others and why some of us choose to scroll and roll. The things he has said about Travis is what most makes me not want to ever read anything he writes. You can of course continue to post his tweets if you still think some would appreciate reading them. I will continue to TRY to ignore them. But now you know the story there.

Hi MeeBee, have they said how many jurors they now have? I keep hearing how many they have dropped, but never how many they have. I didn't think the had the all. Tia~ :seeya:
