Woke up this morning with a small alarm going off in my head. Where is Zoey and Bernina? :scared: It's been a while since they have been here and I'm worried.

I checked on them thru the members list. It says the were both"last active yesterday", but the last posts from each was on the 2nd.

Hope they can check in today.... or we will have to hunt them down.

I have lots of problems with this particular thread... loading slow, can barely type, freezes, can not use emoticons or lose my post-box. Strange that all other threads work OK (not great, just not as bad as this one) (using iPad--- must still be troubles with Apple :stormingmad: )

Good morning Spellbound. I am using my iPad and the site is working good for me. But....this iPad is the first version and has never had an upgrade. Apple is bad for releasing updated versions of IOS with bugs in them! I bought a Samsung tablet which I also use and have no problems whatsoever with it. I had an iPhone and when the IOS 6 or 7 version came out, it made my iPhone very sick. I was so frustrated, I traded it in for a Samsung galaxy. Been so happy with it.

I just watched that hour of cross examination by Juan regarding the day the killer "allegedly" discovered pedophilia on poor Travis' computer. Juan proved that anything she said were all lies. Imagine how sick, tired & weary Travis was of the murderess. He was probably so relieved she moved back to Yreka. I still hold firm to my belief that Travis did not have a clue that Jodi was coming to visit him that fateful June day. I think she began to premeditate his murder way before May. She was clearly obsessed with him, in a crazy, demented way. She couldn't handle that he kept rejecting her, it tipped her over the edge.
I hope she takes the stand in this phase. She IS her own worst enemy. That disgusting smirk of hers. Her smugness, holier than thou attitude. She really gets under my skin.

The way she stole her relatives .25 handgun a week before the killing of Travis is proof to me that she had this all planned out. The shell casings at Travis home were proven to be .25 handgun.

Once JA admitted to killing Travis and claiming self defense, it was so obvious it was a ridiculous story because of quite a few reasons. She tried to claim that it was Travis own gun on top of very tall closet that she used. The odds of it matching the same caliber as the one she stole 1 week prior is ridiculous.

If she wanted to go with self-defense, she would have been better off admitting that she brought the gun she stole from her relatives for protection when traveling.

I still wish the prosecution would have brought the actual closet into the courtroom and make JA re-enact how she was able to reach to the top far corner. I dont think she could have done it very well. Either the shelf would have flipped, broken, etc, or she just plainly would not have been able to reach that far back corner.

The way JA lies end up in elaborate stories remind me so much of a child being caught in a lie, and then they have to tell more lies to get out of the first one.

The whole closet testimony from JA about how she got Travis' gun from the top corner of the closet was a perfect example. It became a huge infested web of lies, all because of the 1st lie claiming she did not bring the stolen gun from her relatives.

Travis friends testified they were not aware that Travis even owned one. He did go to a gun range but had to borrow someone elses gun at the range, if I remember correctly.
If Travis had owned any guns, he surely would have brought his own to the gun range.

Yes, that is Jodi's mom. She has a twin that was sometimes there too, and they look just alike. It was hard sometimes for me to tell them apart.

Yes. Thanks for helping me remember some of those parts. JA has a tendency to just dig herself in deeper and deeper.

I grew up in a hunting family and I have a carriers permit and multiple handguns as well as rifles and shotguns, so when cases come up that involve guns, I can usually spot things that seem ridiculous.

One thing about a .25 caliber is it is not really a common caliber for home defense. It is considered too small a caliber. They are usually pocket deringer type handguns that are very small. Most people that choose to buy a handgun for protection would choose a caliber larger than that. Like a 9 mm, .357, .38 special, or a .380 caliber.

So when I first learned it was a .25 used to kill Travis, I immediately knew it had to be the one JA stole 1 week prior. We of course would need the actual weapon to prove it using ballistic testing to compare the shell casing marks firing a shell from the actual weapon, but common sense goes a long way to realize it had to be the one JA stole from relative. Travis would most likely have not purchased a caliber so small if he had ever bought one.

Couple things:

I don't think you're correct that Jodi can introduce these emails into her mitigation, without resistance. This is a mitigation phase, yes, but it's basically a trial. You can't just admit letters and emails, willy nilly. There has to be some grounds for it. And Juan can still call Chris Hughes to explain them away, which he would, no doubt. However, this email is old news.

And yes, you are missing quite a bit about Michael Kiefer. It's not about just getting a scoop. I don't really want to get into all of it, but there is a reason I choose to ignore what he posts/writes.

He has said many unsavory things to our KCL about Travis and his family in support of Arias. The thing that stands out most to me, from memory: "they're just upset (his siblings) because they had to find out what a pig their brother is."

He did a huge piece on Juan Martinez and the prosecutor's office and how corrupt they are. He seems to have a strong hatred of Juan and it shows in the articles he writes. He has said unsavory things about him to our KCL, as well.

He puts a pro defense spin on everything he writes. This is not imagined. It's been reported that he's not very respected among his peers because of this. Seems to have access to things, like this email, that no one else does. He is not printing it to be a good reporter. He is trying to spin opinion in Jodi's favor. Notice how he never leaks anything that favors the state? He also has leaked things like motions, who the foreman was before anyone knew, etc. this is not imagined either. Juan hinted in a motion earlier this year that he is aware of the DT running to this reporter to report what they want to get out there, but having things they don't want out under seal. He also insinuated some of the stuff is stuff that it was wrong to let out. When I myself asked him to maybe report things with less of a slant he told me he's "just reporting the truth" and blocked me on twitter.

And then there is the flat out lie he told about the defense having to walk out the side door everyday because of threats while Juan walks out the front door everyday so he can sign autographs everyday. KCL tells this one much better than me but that's the gist. None of that is true. The DT strutted by the media trucks every single day, smiling for the cameras, as evidenced by the many pictures of them doing so. While Juan walked out the side door everyday and off to his office, save for the one day when a news station was doing a story on him and autograph-gate happened.

I could go on but you get the point. There IS a reason why some posters, myself included, object to his tweets being posted here among the others and why some of us choose to scroll and roll. The things he has said about Travis is what most makes me not want to ever read anything he writes. You can of course continue to post his tweets if you still think some would appreciate reading them. I will continue to TRY to ignore them. But now you know the story there.

Yep, he's biased and it shows. It is human nature for people to lean toward one side over another on most issues but a good reporter will keep his story neutral and report the facts. If the facts lean one way, so be it. But Keifer referring to the crime victim as "a pig" is unprofessional. It is his opinion and personal opinion at that. A true professional will steer clear of interjecting such opinion.
