I've been looking for some sort of remorse from murderers and did research this past Summer- it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, tho'. :sigh:
I looked for remorse from Ted Bundy: (if anyone's interested and something to look at and read while we wait for the missy:jail: show to restart on Monday)

Ted Bundy Interview (1977) (Rare footage) (Recopilation)

Dr. Dobson's interview with Ted Bundy: Preaching from the serial killer
(Remorse?, God, blame, excuses- preaching from a serial killer on

, violence in the media, and the desensitiveness in children)
Ted Bundy Final Interview Full
(please note: "Dr. Dobson – a former member of President Reagan’s Commission on

", so Bundy is preaching to a preacher. Bundy was a psychopath and told the interviewer exactly what he wanted to hear, IMO)

Fatal Addiction: Ted Bundy's Final Interview

Breaking done the interview: statement analysis: (interview with Dr. Dobson)
"...Revealing the purpose of the interview. Not only does he enjoy his celebrity, and enjoy the character of killer "Ted Bundy", but he is so narcissistic that even hours before death, he seeks to portray to the world that he is a changed man.
Yet "Ted Bundy" wants to still scare people. His memory of killings are is dear to him and he recalls it at will. He both loves frightening people (likely a sexual attraction for him) while, at the same time, wanting to rehabilitate his image...
Ted Bundy may have claimed to have been a new person before he died, but his language showed narcissistic self importance of one who still refused to acknowledge his evil committed on the earth, nor the justice of the sentence pronounced upon him. "

And a more techno ananlysis:
Rhetoric and psychopathy: linguistic manipulation and deceit in the final interview of Ted Bundy
"...he is able to draw the audience’s attention away from himself as lone criminal; instead, he is simply part of a wider group of offenders who have been profoundly affected by sexualised violence in the media....
....the evidence in Bundy’s case – his classification as psychopathic and manic-depressive, along with documented instances of him bargaining with legal professionals and repeatedly changing his story – support my conclusion that Bundy was indeed trying to manipulate and deceive both Dobson and the wider audience."

THE EARTHLY REMAINS: REVISITING TED BUNDY
(caution- photo of his face after death)
"...Bob Keppel, who spent the night before the execution talking Bundy through his confessions, later wrote:
Bundy became transformed toward the end of his life into something he never was in real life. There were Bundy souvenirs, Bundy fan clubs, Bundy memorabilia, and a whole Bundy mystique…. Yet for all the mythos surrounding Ted Bundy, he always remained a cowardly individual who could not even muster the courage at the end of his life to accept total responsibility for what he had done….
And Ted Bundy’s ashes, along with all his other earthly possessions, were given to his attorney, with the instructions that they be scattered at an undisclosed location in Washington’s Cascade Range, in lieu of a public funeral.... "

------------------------------------------------------------
Final conclusion, IMO: No remorse from Bundy: insane? No, IMO- just a psychopath and a narcissistic (like missy:jail
He was not insane because he understood the consequences of his actions.
There were no voices that told him to kill and he didn't believe there were any conspiracies directed towards him.
Many killers are attention seekers and manipulators, IMO.
People wanting them to explain themselves and get into their heads truly appeals to their narcissism, just like missy:jail: and her interviews after the verdict of M1.
