Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh- pseudonym!!!! :floorlaugh:

Who thought of that gem?

I don't know if Mr. Dworkin is Sue :dunno:- just guessing? I'm so confused :scared:

BK apparently saw Sue D. Nihm and didn't recognize him. I thought it was Dworkin too.

Thank-you! I'm so sick of the JSS bashing. We have no idea what the real reasons are for the delays. I left the main thread because I couldn't stand another 3 days of JSS bashing. It's not productive. How about blaming the defense team for a change??

Right there with you, LinusK! Now if you'd kindly stand in front of me

Wow.

I really find it hard to criticize Judge Stephens because I don't have a clue as to what she's dealing with: Meetings in her chambers, slick manipulation by the defense and CMJA, side bars, the media circus from the first trial.............

All I can believe is she is doing the best she can do within the law, with the baloney this defendant and her "crew" are dishing out, and criticism coming from all sides.

I have NEVER seen a case where there were so many motions, so many attorneys, so many of everything. The closest I could compare it to is the Bryan Hulsey trial, also in Arizona.

What I DO see is a Judge who would rather err on the side of caution, then see a mistrial, or boatloads of appeals after the final sentence. And in the process, I think this trial will set precedence's in areas of future trials. Public and media access to trials for one. What quantifies as "threats' to a defendant or witness. Who knows, maybe even limitations to fees an attorney can charge the State, or contingency contracts if he goes from Public Defender to private attorney during a case?

We shall all see.............eventually............one of these years.............I hope.

BBM ~ It probably didn't help that HLN ran this 24/7 during the first trial and releasing the Lifetime movie. I can't think of another trial that received so much exposure. OJ, Scott P., CA, GZ were pretty big, but not nearly as much as this one. They had their show "After Dark", which, subsequently got cancelled.

On the flipside, Jodi chose to do all her interviews, so she asked for it.
For this "retrial", Jodi should just face the fact that she asked for attention in the first trial, and they should hire experts who are not sub-par.

Earth quakes, Holy Smokes and you seem to be so calm. Are you in an area that gets them frequently? Stay safe.

Not really, but there have been over 19 since November. They've been centered where the old Cowboy Stadium, but the first one today was the first that I felt. It sounded the UPS truck barreling down the street, and it felt like a car had ran into the house. The second one I was home and in the loft in the garage and the springs of the doors creaked and the garage shook. The last one was just a small shudder.

Yeah, but they were still able to find an unbiased jury even with the After Dark show. As AZLawyer points out, not everyone in Phoenix is following this case. I'm not in AZ, but became aware of it because of the 48 hours and Inside Editions shows on the case and Jodi's interviews. That's when I started following it.

What magnitudes??? Here in CA, we don't get excited by earthquakes unless they're bigger than 4.0. Bigger than 5.0 is when they really get our attention.

True. I just kept hearing Jodi singing O Holy Night, then saw NG scrolling through channels. I mention this case to people at work, and they have no clue what i'm talking. I guess I just got hooked. :)

I was just saying why I don't think the media is preventing Jodi from getting a fair trial. But, what I don't like is this secrecy stuff. Jodi should just testify and put her money where her mouth is. Her own words: "No jury will convict me".

I doubt she is being threatened, she is in jail!

They were both 3.5 and deeper than what they've been. I'm in the metroplex and there has been plenty of them all over. Many say the cause is fracking. I just read that were a total so far, of six f them today. If I was in in California I'd be like a cat in a room for of rockers (which is not just an old saying. Every cat we've had always would lay close when I rock and had rocked on their tails many times), you're much braver than me.

In one of Jodi's journal she writes about a trip and people asking a woman who had been an opera singer to sing, and she didn't know what to sing, so Jodi told her to sing "O Holy Night" and she sang every verse.

Specifically from overpressurization of the formation and injecting too much produced water post-fracing. It CAN be addressed via permitting. Tx Railroad commission hired a seismologist this year. Lets hope they start capping permits! C'mon Texas... just do it.

Typically these are pretty small magnitude less than 4, and not via major plate movement like in CA. Been there done that. The rolling pin feel from the s waves? Like nothing else ever.

Pages, my daughter lives in Wiley but works by the old Cowboy stadium. She hasn't felt one yet but she is afraid.

Finally able to pop in. Our internet and phones were down and a repairman was here for a couple hours. Most of it was outside work, changing the line from the main cable to the house, poor guy. Almost fixed --- they are sending someone to replace the main line later today, but it is working.

It is brutally cold and windy, blowing snow back onto the sidewalks. I wouldn't bother shoveling, except we have a kindergartener who gets off the bus in front of my house, and he deserves a clean walk if possible. Have to do it a bit at a time and warm up often!

Earthquakes?! Glad it didn't send you tumbling from those rafters!!

All those diary pages sound so staged and rehearsed!

Earthquakes sound really scary. I know the cold is scary. I never want to do "snowy and blowy" again. That is what my Dad called it.

I live local to the JA trial. Everyone I mention it to says "who?" Or they say, is that the person that killed that Mormon guy. It is just not that big of a deal in the Phoenix area to most people. So................ Or maybe it is just the people I know.

I have to agree about JSS. The only thing that got me with her is the day she closed the court room. What could have possessed her to do such a thing. I guess we will never really know. IMO there is no reason good enough. I just feel we have to trust the Judge and Juan to do the right thing. If JSS was doing something too bad, I thing Juan would be saying or doing something about it. JMO

Good Morning!
