Was going to post this the other day when I got yet another sticker in my foot, and was thinking, hmmmm, bet there's a few folks out there that haven't tried this:

You know when you get a stupid sticker in your foot, or hand, wherever, and you can't get a grip on it with tweezers because it's just too small but it's driving you crazy?!?!?!?!

Duct tape.

Just put a fresh piece of duct over the area, press down and pull up.

Duct tape.............the "Wonder Tape", lol!

:welcomeback:

It's a shame that now that this kind of training is needed. :(
Our lives will never be normal again (starting with 9/11 and continuing thru the present with all the coo-coos coming out of the woodwork to shoot up
every thing and everybody in the world, IMO). :(

Victims conflicted over death penalty for theater gunman

"...by the time James Holmes was convicted in the chilling 2012 attack on a Colorado movie theater that left 12 people dead and 70 injured, Weaver had changed his mind about the punishment.

“I feel the sentence that he may get, which is the death penalty, is the only penalty that fits the crime that he committed that night,” Weaver said, standing in front of the courthouse where he listened to the tragic and gruesome testimony of fellow moviegoers that ultimately spurred his change of heart..."

I am at work now. Will try to post later on. Your right it is a shame. I don't know if I mentioned this but in recent years mass shootings went from once a month to once week. The training talked a lot about bullying also. You never now what struggles someone is facing or where their breaking point is.

DID YOU KNOW
Lavender Oil

1- Potpourri

Add a few drops of oil to your potpourri, dry or silk flowers (NOT on wood furniture!!)

2- Bath

For aching muscles or stress relief, add 4 drops of oil to your bath. You can also add a handful of Epsom salts.
Sit back, relax and soak away your tensions!!

3- Cuts/ Scrapes

Spray on lightly some Lavender oil on the affected area. It's a great disinfectant that will not "kill" the "good bacteria"
on the skin!!

4- Fatigue

Add 5-8 drops of oil in a hot footbath to soak your feet (which are particularly porous, so it reaches your bloodstream
quickly, soothing various systems of your body!!)

5- Insomnia

A few drops or a light "squirt" on your pillow case for a sweet sleep! (I've personally done this too, by adding a little
pouch of lavender "buds" inside my pillow case...works great!!) For babies, add 3 drops of lavender oil in their bedtime
bath water.

6- Disinfectant

To sterilize household surfaces, add 10 drops of lavender oil to a small squirt bottle (can be found at the Dollar Store).
Spray on surface, wait 30 minutes. Not necessary to wipe off. (NOTE: NOT to be used on wood furniture or wood surfaces to
be safe!) You can use it to disinfect toilets, sink handles, telephone receivers, light switches, etc...

7- Burns

After cooling the burn under cold, running water for approx. 5-10 mins (or more), gently apply oil to affected area.
This should help lessen the pain immediately.

8- Headache

Massage a few drops of lavender oil into your forehead, your temples, nape of neck, and the inside of your wrists.

9- Acne

Apply 1 drop of oil on the affected area (pimple) inhibits the bacteria that causes the infection & helps re balance the
over secretion of sebum.

10- Insect Bites

Applying 1 drop of lavender oil on an insect bite will soothe itching and inflammation. Dab on as soon as possible.

11- Moths

Hang little fabric bags or pouches (can be found at the Dollar Store, if you cannot find a substitute at home) amongst
your woolens in your closet, and refresh with oil from time to time. It's a deterrent, but not a guarantee!

12- Fungus

T.V.'s Dr Oz says that lavender oil (3 drops), when rubbed into the finger or toe nail (several times a day) has anti-fungal properties! (Re-apply after washing your hands or bathing)

NOTE: Store your oil AWAY from heat & light to preserve its properties.

I love the scent of lavender, as a matter a fact a bought a new bottle last month. Good to know you can use it for headaches. I will have to try that. I carry my bottle in my purse. If I get stressed I dab a little under my nose to help get relief. I also love the scent of lemon grass. Those natural aromas are amazing.

Hi all, just checking in after missing you all for days! I have to catch up on a lot, but here is hoping that everyone's animals are doing well and are out of the woods. JINGLES sent for continued health.

Apparently there are some members who read here who may have misunderstood about my horse. Please rest assured that he is doing well, is not being kept alive for selfish reasons, that I do not have Munchausen by proxy related to my horse, and that my horse gets the BEST CARE money can buy. I have world renown vets on his case and care and when it is time to put him down, I will. But until then, I will do everything in my power and control to see that he continues to thrive and live a long and happy life. I am anything but an irresponsible horse owner and these horses get the absolute best of everything. And all the love and care any horse could ever want.

ETA: This is a $100,000 horse and most owners would have put him down and collected the check and gone on. Not me. He is boarded at an elite show barn and has been trained by an Olympic caliber equestrian athlete. So please no more stones. My horse. My heart. My decision.

Had my MRI on Friday and have a torn infraspinatous/supraspinatous tendon which is why I haven't been here. I swear IMOO arm pain is Wayyyyy Worse than back pain and it is very very annoying. And I blew the L2-L3 level above my fusion. So, no pity party here. I am learning how to reupholster by watching videos. LOL. And buying all kinds of stuff on EBay. I finally got a muscle relaxer that works: Good Old Valium and that has made a huge difference in my arm pain. It will heal on its own and I just gotta keep doing.

Xoxo

OH Zuri I;m so sorry you have had your integrity questioned. I know there will come a time, that only you will know , when it's time, and we'll be here.

I haven't heard any bickering and backstabbing about your care of Knox.

I was a little concerned that my dog was showing a little stiffness still from newly diagnosed arthritis, and not the injury. I'd already thrown out the Rimadyl and Tramadal. Even if they can prove the gastritis was from the Rimadyl, I will NEVER put her back on Tramadal ever again- even though 5 people (4 vets & 1MD) have told me this drug is safe- it was bad news for me, and I won't ever again risk it being bad news for her!!!
Today, she only has one dose left of Prilosec, and we are done with her regimen and back to normal!!! If she has pancreatitis or arthritis, she sure isn't showing it affecting her!
P.S. Someone well-meaning (knowing we have financial problems) and hearing we spent $2,000 on my 11-year-old dog, told us to change her to a Do-Not-Rescucitate. Not gonna happen! It started as an acute injury, and even if the vet can't prove it- I know it was caused by my dog slamming into a fence chasing a squirrel, her nose was abraded, and she takes off after them in my yard. She hates them!!! She should have at least 2-3 good years left in her, if not up to 6 years. I saw a commercial for a brand of dog food called Eukanuba with black Labs running in a field who were 17 years old, and she was dashing around two weeks ago.

Freebrez comes in Lavender, and sometimes I spray it in each room in the evening and before bed, and sometime I spray the bedsheets. I also burn different incense to change the mood of the house, and when I'm sitting on the porch swing at two in the morning for my neighborhood. Hawaiian Ginger, Honeydew melon, Lavender, cherry coke, cinnamon.

The good news is that the big meeting I was dreading with her counselor and the P.E. teacher and school district nurse, and an assistant principal went well. Much better than I was expecting. DD has had ongoing knee problems for the last 3 years, which weren't handled well-enough by her middle school and resulted in a big fiasco last year with her P.E. teacher trying to retaliate against her by tanking her grade and trying to prevent her from being in marching band, even though we told her at back-to-school night that this was a legitimate problem and that DD wasn't malingering.
Well, the upshod is that she can postpone P.E. until 10th grade ( I was hoping 11th grade- she only needs 2 years/4) and can also take 3 weeks of it during a couple of summers to make up the other credits, and rather than having to write meaningless (for us) reports on the history of P.E., she can take Drama instead, not be pulled out, like she was out of Jazz Band at the end of last year, and she gets the better Spanish teacher- the head of the department whom we already met and DD wanted! Also the clerk at Office Depot gave us a $5 coupon and I got a $50 rebate gift card from Norton (anti-virus) so I could get her a couple pairs of new shoes for school! All-in-all a very good day, even though DH turned into a jerk at the end...

Has anyone ever wanted to smack a grown child of yours right upside their head?!

Our DD decided she would come over and have an 'intervention' with us over spending money!!!! After all, we are on a 'fixed income'!
She thinks we should NOT be spending money since we are on SS now. She went on and on about how we a month ago we bought a new top of the line Ford Escape, pulled the carpets up in the bedrooms and laid that new fancy flooring, bought a new French Door fridge just yesterday, and NOW we are talking about buying that expensive Yorkie dog!! She was thinking we should cut up our credit cards...I was seeing RED.

Well DH looked at her and let her have it...how he had worked 44 years with the same company and has a damn good pension coming in, how we had planned on retirement and made plans for doing what we are doing (minus the dog buying). That she did not have a clue how much or how little money we had. He pointed out that we did not owe on anything, house been paid off for 7 years now, fridge was over 20 years old and it was none of her damn business what we did or didn't do! Plus, where was it a law that we would leave any money behind when we died. She was totally in shock when he finished with her LOL. Her Dad has never 'gone off' on her before, I was the 'heavy'.

I'm still ticked off at her and the other kids thinking we have gone on a big buying binge we would be in the poor house soon. KIDS!! they are worse when the grow up!

And this too shall pass.....

Six Men Beautifully Sing "Hotel California" A Capella

Six talented men sat on stage to record an epic version of "Hotel California". But they do it without a band. Their A Capella version of this famous song is completely one-of-a-kind. Their intro alone is fascinating as they create their own band, using their voices. They might just trick you as their voices create a very realistic version of the guitar, drums, and more. They even have one of their men perform what sounds like a guitar solo as the spotlight hits him in his bright red shirt and bandana.

The audience is completely stunned. He slips on his sunglasses and motions his arms to play a guitar, lighting up the stage with his passionate performance. The other five men help him out by keeping the steady beat.

Once he finishes his solo, a few of the men join him upfront and go wild with a beat-box effect. The audience can't contain themselves as their performance is lit on fire. The already loved "Hotel California" becomes even greater with this unforgettable performance. Each of the six men poured their hearts out into this song, and finishing perfectly with a loud drum beat slowing down to the best ending ever.
