Hello SB friends! I hope you all are having a wonderful day. I saw where the Midwest was getting some wild weather with high winds, which we are going to be getting tomorrow. Please stay safe!

Niner, I am praying for good scan results. Your post gave me a great idea about writing the name/date on the ornaments. This year I will mark the ornaments with my children's initials so that way they will know it is theirs when the time comes. Thanks for the idea! It is too late to date them, but at least there will be no fighting over the ornaments. (Like there would be)

Perhaps I should initial the staplers too...

Hey Zuri My Mamma gave us ornaments with just the year on it; no names... But each were for our "personalities" ! Good idea on putting names/dates on your ornaments. on putting them on the staplers too! LOL! I have some of my Mamma's Christmas ornaments! Love decorating the tree! :luv:

I'm loving all the stuff on "Sentencing and Beyond."
Me too! Glad someone there is posting "what" is in Nurmi's book! Can't believe he's actually writing this stuff!

Zuri said:
Ok. I will take one for the team and buy Nurmi's book and share here as I read it. A poster on the main thread is going to as well.

Oh you're wonderful - taking one for the team! :cheer:

Seriously, it is something that I've always secretly longed to do. I've tried many times to write something that's more than a few pages, but I either lose interest or find things too emotionally charged for my comfort level. Whichever, I've always walked away from those efforts without looking back. Sometimes the point of writing is just to bring about some level of catharsis. I'm okay with that...

My little brother wrote! Here's a link to his "The Catch" - I didn't know he was so good!

Yes, on KCL writing a book! I see that she IS writing one! Good - I'll be first in line!

Oh....there is something cool we got in the fall and are going to try out this year. They are a LAZER LIGHT display with just 1 light. LOL I actually plugged it inside the house and I think they are going to work out really good for the outside. They are really cool and shine a real lazer light beam against a mirror that splits the light into tons of tiny dots. Its pretty cool.

I saw those advertised in the catalogs I get in the mail - that's the way I shop! :) My Huz doesn't like to climb that ladder either! And we still have outside lights from the 1950s! LOL!

Yes! It IS the most wonderful time of the year, Hatfield!!

:)
Yes, I think I am going to use both and just supplement my regular lights with these lazer lights.

We have this 1 giant pine tree in the yard and its so big that I never have enough lights to put any lights on it. So this year, I am planning on using one of the lazer lights to light up the entire giant pine tree. Then I am planning on using my other 2 to supplement the house lights.

Its like my secret weapon this year. I was actually going to test it outside and the Misses said no. She wants to keep it a secret and shock everyone around Christmas. LOL She said if we wait it doesn't give them a chance to see them and buy some for themselves until we get to be first in the neighborhood...LOL

I kind of feel like Danny DeVito in the movie "Deck the Halls" trying to outdo all the neighbors with the lights. LMAO :)

1956 - The duo Buchanan and Goodman go to court over their song "Flying Saucer," which incorporates bits of other hit songs. The first use of sampling in the Rock era, the song made #3 on the Hot 100.

I think everyone thinks they are "true christian" and that the rest will go to hell. You're a true Christian if you've asked Jesus to be your Lord and saviour, and believe that He's the only way to get into Heaven is by Him dying on the cross for your sins. Not you have to follow this or that rule to be saved. Getting into born again, evangelicals, pentecostals, catholics Oh my.

Did you know they there are over thirty five (35) major Christian denomination in America?

Zuri, did you get the book yet? Wondering...

I don't know either, and I don't mean to bring up the weather, but so much for words. It's whatever 'floats your boat' to get the the right places. Everybody gets along when they're in the same room from what I've seen.
Hi!! it's letting me post! I have friends, I don't have any idea what religion they are. My great grandfathers name was Christian.. I know~So ?

Find Out What Your Finger Length Reveals About Your Personality

Your birth date, feet, hand lines and even fingertips may reveal insights to your personality. Everyone has slightly different fingers, but in general you can break it down into 3 main types of finger lengths.

The fingers on either side of your left middle finger, your index and ring finger, are the same size or slightly different with one longer than the other. Take a look at your own fingers in comparison with the image to identify which looks most like your own, A, B, or C.

C. The Peaceful, Easy To Love Type

If your ring and index finger are the same size your motto is “make love, not war.” You prefer to avoid conflict and make peace wherever you go, as you strive to get along with everyone. Overall, you are faithful and caring and make an excellent partner. Although, you do have a fiery side that may arise if someone gets on your bad side… so enemies beware!

4 tablespoons olive oil or Canola oil (I have used both)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (can use more)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Spray a large baking sheet. In a large bowl, combine potatoes and other ingredients. Stir well to make sure the potatoes are well coated. Spread out on baking pan. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 50 – 60 minutes, turning about 4 times while cooking. Serves 4. Enjoy!

Note: You can use Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, dried leaf thyme or whatever seasonings you like in this dish

CROCK POT HONEY SOY PORK CHOPS

This recipe is so easy in the crock pot and is great with the gravy served over mashed potatoes, rice or even noodles. An easy comfort food meal your family will enjoy.

4 to 6 pork chops (I used bone-in center cut but you could use any chops)

1/2 cup flour

1 tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning, Optional

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

4 tablespoons cooking oil

1 green pepper, seeded and sliced

1 medium onion, peeled and sliced in rings

1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained

1/2 cup water

1/3 cup honey or 1/2 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup soy sauce

Combine flour, steak seasoning and pepper in a brown bag or shallow pan. Cover chops with flour. Brown in oil on top of the stove. Place pork chops in crock pot with sliced green pepper and onion rings on top. Combine tomatoes, water, honey and soy sauce and pour over the top. Cook on low 6 to 7 hours or high 3 to 4 hours. Makes 4 to 6 servings. Enjoy!

Note: I don’t add salt to this recipe because the soy sauce makes it salty enough for us. You can add more salt if you want.

One of my friends saw how I organize my pantry (anal retentive here .. good thing she didn't see my closet and how I organize it by color like Goodwill does) and she is inviting me over to help redo her pantry in the next week.

I just sent her this picture! :floorlaugh:

Frugal crockpot person here. It's very chilly here today so I am also doing a crock pot dinner. My base juices are frozen leftovers from soups or vegetable broths /liquids which I put in ziplocks for future stews or crock pot . Today Im going to add beet juices !
