Where are you recalling TH saying where she parked at all?tia

It was discussed on this forum quite recently. Shouldn't be hard to locate....

Bumping Kimster's post for the morning crew.
I did not see this post.I'm not saying he was involved.I'm sure LE is talking to him.I do think he could have seen some children come out the back door with maybe a male chaperone?I'm interested in who he saw.

  • #343
I think I'm going to fire our lawn care guy today. He has a white truck, and he looks like the kinda guy who would, I don't know. Murder me if my better half asked him too.

Yep. I am going back to cutting my own darn grass.

This case is making my head spin.

ETA: That is a JOKE! Not implying the groundskeeper is involved whatsoever! Truly- this case is just rife with white trucks. I am counting them go by from my office and I'm at 19 already. Man.

...
So what he rules out is that there was no white truck or any other vehicle there at 7:45 or at 8:30?

Apparently so. Because he wouldn't necessarily have been able to see (or might not have noticed) a truck parked around that corner during the time in between.

I don't think we have ever heard where TH SAID she parked....there have been posts discussing where she might have parked, but as for her saying where she parked...naw.

He said he was there mowing between 7:45am and 8:30am. So he was there about 45 minutes. TH could have pulled into that access road after he left at 8:30am.

But he padlocked the gate/fence AFTER he left. How could she have gotten into the road?

If Kyron is never found?

Houze: The State has built their case against my client based upon unreliable witness accounts, sheer speculation, media bias and questionnaires available online to any number of well-intentioned, *helpful* but misinformed souls wishing to download the forms for themselves. Next!
And then, extrapolating that an SO is found, and thought to be involved, arrested and charged:

1st year defense attorney who can't find his behind with both hands says:
"But there's a mountain of evidence that shows TH did it. Case closed.

Next!"

Sigh.

I don't believe there will ever be a conviction in this case, no matter who is charged. Houze is good enough to get TH off - the prosecution at this point has holes in it big enough to drive the Challenger through while piggybacking on it's transport plane. And any defense attorney with a different client will easily be able to get an acquital because of the case against TH.

Makes me sad...

I think I might remember seeing a trailer better than seeing a truck because there were lots of vehicles of different color and types but probably just one trailer with a tractor on it. It stands out more than a random parked vehicle.

*Snip* Assuming Terri did it and assuming she planned it in advance... She might have known how long it usually takes for the lawn man to finish his job and go if she paid particular attention. But unless he mows the field there regularly every Friday morning I'm not sure that Terri would have known he'd be there while planning. He could very well have been the unforeseen factor. It happens to the brightest of criminals and they get by, sometimes they have to abandon their original plan. We don't know if there was a plan B in case there was a guy mowing the lawn or somebody else in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm not sure where you get the 15 minutes leeway figure. Was there something that dictated that it had to be done before some exact time? Are you thinking she wanted to be done before 8:45 and the final bell?

I sincerely hope not... Because LE wasn't very observant if they didn't notice that the field was freshly mowed when they were searching there, and the science fair participants may not have been very good eye witnesses if none of them noticed a big truck and trailer and a man mowing the soccerfield and no one told LE about it. So, if they all missed that, what else did they miss? It begins to look like anyone could have walked out with a little boy unnoticed because it takes just a minute or two and the turf technician (love the title!) was there for 45 minutes.

It sounds to me like the kids were made to go there by one or more adults because there was something sciencey in the flowerbeds. Looking at some raised beds just doesn't sound like the sort of thing that a group of elementary school kids would get in their heads to do if they run out of the school on their own, unsupervised. IMO. If he'd said that they were running or playing I'd be more worried.

So what he rules out is that there was no white truck or any other vehicle there at 7:45 or at 8:30?

" Something sciencey in the flowerbeds."

A poster, I believe it was Skylineneighbor, indicated that the K/ 1st Grade classroom is located right by those flowerbeds. When my kids were in those grades they planted seeds of flowers, and checked the results. They would keep a little log of the seeds' progress ( so sweet ) I would hazard a guess that the Skyline curriculum had this topic too. So, it was probably not directly connected to the Science Fair, but, yes, still "sciencey" ( love that word )...

The chain does not block access to the road, it separates the road from the path that leads around the perimeter of the soccer field. People can still get onto the road and drive right up to where the chain is, when it is locked. The spot where LE photo showed the truck, was just before the chain.

OT, but the best chance at a conviction, if Terri, is in the hopes that she did have help and they make a deal, at least from what evidence we've been allowed to see. I think the prosecution is going to need someone up there on the stand telling what happened that day.

Yes, that is my biggest fear in this case. That some public defender will one day use all of this... stuff to get his SO client off. But,my fear is balanced by the hope that a brilliant prosector will see the holes and convict the hypothetical SO. It is all we really have, our juducial system....

Ok, thank you Tehcloser...I am a novice, so I couldn't find a statement 'from' TH about she parked. (or even Kaine or Desiree about where she parked). I'll keep my eyes out for it though.

Or maybe the media decided to do a little investigative work of their own and camped out at the school for a couple mornings just to get a feel of the normal comings and goings in the area and happened to be there when the guy had to come back to mow again. He did have his mower with him, it would stand to reason he was there to mow. Doubt the city would allow him to use one of their vehicles, trailer, and mower just to do an interview. In fact I'd be willing to bet he's going to take some heat from the city for doing so on their time in their vehicle.

Many of the people that were at the school contributed eye witness reports. Yet very few have contact the media.

While LE has not asked me to keep quiet, I purposely withhold information both when interviewed by the media and from the internet. My main reasoning is that any witness report may color the recollection of others. This all makes me wonder why the landscaper decided to talk to KATU.

All he's basically saying is that the path was clear when he arrived to mow and when he left. I doubt that info would jade anyones thought recollection process of that day. It's really just non news. Maybe he just didn't want to be rude to the KATU camera crew (who are dying to break the story, first) since he really didn't have anything to add.

In retrospect, the grounds keeper coming forward in the media, may actually help to jog others memories. A witness might think, "Oh yeah, I remember seeing the white truck leaving pulling the mower and then I saw..." KWIM

I REALLY appreciate your posts since you were there. :) I also appreciate you not wanting to hinder the investigation!! I have faith in LE and think they are doing a fantastic job! They may be up against a high powered attorney but I feel they are doing their best to make sure they have as much as possible before going forward. No case is a slam dunk, just look at OJ. Just wish they could find little Kyron though...and I KNOW they wish that too.

Back to Topic...I think the goundskeeper was specifically asked by media and not that he necessarily went to them.

Just one possible way for the landscaper to have missed this truck. TH is in the school until 8:45 and tells Kyron to meet her out front or the side door (you pick) at 9:00 to go to that Dr appt. In the mean time, someone else in the parking lot, is there with there own vehicle and is waiting for her at the truck to hand off and switch keys and vehicles. So at 8:45 this person takes her truck heads down to the road, TH tells Kyron they are going in this car, and gives some excuse for taking a different vehicle, (?) and she heads off towards the back road, and the other person in the white truck follows, or goes to SI and drives around with her phone, pinging....... The landscaper would have been gone 15 minutes before the truck pulled onto that road.

He has a great memory, and is a quick grass cutter, I will give him that!

Can you describe those 19 trucks please? Their drivers? Any passengers? Distinguishing marks, stickers, rims, etc. Ok, you're probably not the best person to ask! But, my point is, you were looking out for them and that was this morning.
I have real concerns that what people saw 2 months ago is seriously hazy at this point and if they could get a standard cab service truck with a trailer hooked to it confused with a 4 door truck with no trailer, that maybe the info is not all that reliable?

Gwen, do you think he'll have such an easy re-election if by the start of the school year they haven't made obvious progress in this case (i.e. an arrest) OR if (god help us) it turns out Terri may NOT be the one who took Kyron?

The election held in May has already appointed him for the remainder of this term , thru end of 2010, and the following 4 years starting Jan 1 2011.
He isn't running again for a few years.

Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton grabbed 79 percent of the vote in winning two elections. He will finish the unexpired term of the former sheriff, then, in 2011, he’ll start a full four-year term as sheriff.

I solved everything .. Groundskeeper stated he didn't see no "white" truck..

If he didn't see "no" white truck.. He either saw a white truck parked there or a truck that was another color...JMO..
