“Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Burbank), ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said a federal judge could unseal an indictment against either Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign manager, or Michael Flynn, who briefly served as Trump's national security advisor in the White House.”

The indictment(s) are sealed. How would Schiff know who’s being indicted?

Mueller is also investigating possible obstruction of justice.

this is a very serious criminal offense -- and that is a crime Mueller is very upset about

it is a crime I think as a LE officer he feels deserved to be punished to fullest extent of the criminal penal code casue it is an attempt to avoid the criminal justice system.

I think it is even a felony crime

the racketeering criminal laws are intense as well

here is a nice review of the the racketeering degree of criminal violations within the criminal justice system

a very serious crime !!

WIth hearty sentences

all these trials will certainly be right up our ally - we are after all a criminal forum

oh brother what happens if we have too many criminal trials going on all once !!!

OMG, right?!!??

*deletes web search history of "Kevin Bacon"
*flushes oregano down toilet (for a friend)
*pays late cable bill
*pre-sets brew of dang good coffee in case cops knock down door in the morning ...

I met Kevin Bacon once. I hope that this is not a 6 degrees of separation fromKB. If an indictment can be had from a 1 degree of separation, I might be wearing some bracelets whilst doing a side-eye perp walk......

The wire transfers that Manafort made, and that Mueller is said to be investigating, happened 5 years before Trump's election. And Manafort was more involved with the Democrats at the time, most notably, the Podesta Group.

So I don't think following that money trail will lead them to Trump. I think it leads back to the same people who bank rolled the dossier...

NEWS
OCT 24 2017,
Mueller Now Investigating Democratic Lobbyist Tony Podesta

The probe of Podesta and his Democratic-leaning lobbying firm grew out of Mueller's inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to the sources. As special counsel, Mueller has been tasked with investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Manafort had organized a public relations campaign for a non-profit called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU). Podesta's company was one of many firms that worked on the campaign, which promoted Ukraine's image in the West.

The sources said the investigation into Podesta and his company began as more of a fact-finding mission about the ECMU and Manafort's role in the campaign, but has now morphed into a criminal inquiry into whether the firm violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, known as FARA.

Katydid, I am not (have not, did not, will not) bring Trump into this. I don't want to get into anything political with anyone. If this is about Manafort, I hope anyone who participated in any illegal activity with him goes down. End of my story.

P.S. I was happy when Teresa Guidice and Abby Lee Miller went to jail... I don't like it when people take advantage of the system, no matter their station in life.

There are also links from other sources. I provided a mixture because I assumed the people asking for links were starting from zero and I wanted to provide an overview of what was going on so they could catch up and be ready for tomorrow. I just took the top 10 google news hits. If you don't like the VOX or HuffPo links I would suggest you simply use one of the many others provided.

I've learned from being on WS that there's the charge and the arrest, and then YEARS later there might be a trial. You have plenty of time to study up.

I don't know if anyone is thinking that these indictments will be Russia related. I am not clear that any of the MSM is saying it is election related, either. I believe that if it is Manafort, it will be for money irregularities from long ago. He bought lots of apartments and other things with what some have said was money he trying to launder.

As to BBM, these are things posted in this thread about the upcoming indictments, that seem to be implying it will be about Trump:

Post#17:
This article from Politico provides a useful summary of what's expected tomorrow:

An expected indictment Monday from the special counsel probing Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election leaves President Donald Trump facing a politically perilous week as his White House juggles unveiling significant tax legislation, announcing its pick for Federal Reserve chair and launching a 12-day-long foreign trip.

Administration allies scrambled over the weekend to downplay the significance of the expected revelation of the first charges in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, which CNN first reported were approved by a federal grand jury Friday. Trump, however, seemed to be struggling to stay focused on what was already shaping up to be a momentous week on the policy front, tweeting his frustration repeatedly on Sunday.

While the target and nature of the charges remain unknown, the expected indictment — from a special counsel appointed after Trump abruptly fired his FBI director out of frustration with the Russia probe — could make Monday one of the most politically consequential days of this presidency.

[THAT ^^^ right there is all about Trump being a target on Monday, imo. ]

So I was super nervous and accidentally shredded my taxes and checked my mail.

But I should be OK though, because I deleted "Footloose" from my Netflix queue. Though, now that I think about it, if you've met Kevin Bacon, then everyone here is still, like, three degrees ... I DON'T KNOW YOU. THIS DISCUSSION NEVER HAPPENED!! *hides*

OK. I'll get back on topic now. :loveyou: Thank you, Kaen. <3

I saw him earlier today -- he made it clear it does not know!

I wish I could find the full and actual quote (drives me crazy when they do this) of what he said, but:

Schiff, a former federal prosecutor in Los Angeles, said he was reacting to press reports and could not confirm the target or whether it involved Russia. “We haven’t been told who it is,” he said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Just know if I am arrested tomorrow. I will be the blonde with mascara running and yelling that my spouse did the taxes and stole from our 401k. I am hoping not to be wearing sweat pants and sneakers without shoe laces. Orange is not my color, even though it is the new black.

Back to topic.....sorry all!

Excellent question. Hopefully all the major broadcast networks, along with cable news networks. Maybe pool. I did some looking around, but can't find an answer to your question. :(

maybe to save us money they could do some of there trials all together

I would think there crimes would be interrelated and another big crime might be the violating the foreign relationship crime ( the thing with not disclosing stuff )

that is two criminal charges -- it says like 6 times on the form it is a felony to forge that form

does anyone remember the number of the form??

Kinda like the old Doublemint commercial two two felonies in one !!

From Wired:

HOW TO INTERPRET ROBERT MUELLER’S NEW CHARGES

Here are five rules of federal investigations to keep in mind as you read about the new charges and think about their implications:

1) The FBI takes down whole organizations.

2) Don’t hold your breath for “collusion.”

3) There are many threads, including some likely unrelated to others.

4) The first charges are only a starting point—but don’t necessarily wait for the dramatic Perry Mason-style trial.

5) Bob Mueller is after federal crimes, not political problems.

Personally, I believe it will be Manafort with the first indictment followed by Flynn. Manafort would be, IMO, the easiest to turn.

Patiently and anxiously waiting....Tick Tock, Tick Tock.
