This hearing is eerie. It's like the ghost of the trial or something. It's a little disturbing.

Mr. Means collects records of expenses spent on cases . . . he has reviewed the total amounts of the records - not each expense.

LDB approaches with large packet of papers . . . summary of expenses of the Office of the SA and invoices for the same . . . Mr. Means confirms. Introduce into evidence SA #1 . . . no further questions for Mr. Means re: invoices for SA.

CM cross . . . Mr. Means did not participate in this trial . . . he knows what crimes KC was convicted of . . . check related crimes and lying to LE......CM wants to know where he got info of check related crimes . . . Means doesn't know. . . . doesn't know what she was convicted of in counts 4-7. Means didn't participate in any depos taken in this case. . . . invoices for multiple court reportings . . . invoices for expert witnesses also included in the packet . . . Means doesn't know which expert witnesses have anything to do with counts 4-7 nor is he aware of what expenses for court reporters or expert witnesses . . . all Means did was highlight the costs - majority were court reporter costs.

CM wanting to know that crimes occured on 7/16/08 . . . Means doesn't know. . . . services for court reporters between 7/16 and 10/14/08. CM states there were no costs for depos in the year of 2008. CM says HHBP will have help going thru each and every cost in that 3" packet . . . "it's labor day" CM has no further questions

Judge Perry said earlier today while he was doing please with other folks at about 10:10 that he wouldn't be there in Mid-September, and he was leaving and wouldn't be able to follow the case. Where is he going? Promotion/vacation or retiring or what?

I can't believe he said to HHJP "I know you will have your assistants going through this paperwork and doing your work for you. You always have." or something to that effect.

Judge Perry said earlier today while he was doing please with other folks at about 10:10 that he wouldn't be there in Mid-September, and he was leaving and wouldn't be able to follow the case. Where is he going? Promotion/vacation or retiring or what?

He was filling in temporarily for a retired judge in another section.

He will return to his job only after that.
