Sincere condolences to the victims' families.

I wonder if the murderer had problems as a child or young adult and if so, how those problems were addressed, did he have any diagnoses, and who did he spend time with most often -- even if not often -- and their thoughts on this.

Such a dark and evil act. All IMO.

It seems he was totally isolated. By choice. Started not wanting to show his face, things like that. Very troubled.

Mental health issues abundantly clear.

IMHO

IT’s early days.

The Police said that they have not found any psychiatric contacts (at least not yet) and the relative said that he was always a loner but at least used to have one friend, but as it was "used to have" it seems like not anymore. And had been less and less in contact with family also in the Last few years. So I would think he really had no one around. At least it seems like that now. It's only been a day so there might be more info coming. And I would not be suprised if they find online friends with like-minded...

In northern Europe with social security and "let's not get involved with other peoples business" -mentality, it is easy to get left out of pretty much the whole society.

And I woul never ever excuse this evil mass murder! It is just interesting since this is the first and worst huge school shooting in Sweden. You have to be a special kind of @##*** to do this.

So sorry for the victims

Edited to add: all IMO

Ilta-Sanomat
This is from Finland, in finnish. Well known MSM. The info they have is from Expressen and Aftonbladet and the police.

There is someone that knew him saying he was quiet as a child (and after) and he had not finished high school. Had enrolled himself to several mathematics courses in the attacked school years ago but never attended in any of the courses and last mark is from may 2021 when he told he was not going to be attending a course.

He had permissions for 4 guns. He had 3 Guns and a knife with him at the school.

Yes at least according to Aftonbladet.
I am trying to wait patiently for everything to be verified, since there is all kinds of info floating around that might turn this to be even darker that it is now. So I shall wait. The gun permits seem to be valid info but it's so messy, the media might be too fast to print, so we'll see.
There is some kind of test thing for the permits so that I find interesting to know how he did in those. Might be more of a byrocratic thing though. Do any swedes know?

Police after the attack: Nothing points to ideological motives

Eleven people have been confirmed dead after the school shooting in Örebro.
According to reports, the perpetrator is a man in his 35s – who also died in connection with the incident.
The weapon found next to him was a hunting weapon for which he had a license.

– We believe that it is a lone perpetrator, says Police Chief Roberto Eid Forest.
– We believe that we have the primary perpetrator,
although we do not rule out more people with connections, says police chief Roberto Eid Forest.

Rbm.
Not ruling out any other possible accomplices.
There is an attached video at the link but unfortunately no subtitles enabled.

The perp didn't have any criminal background and was virtually unknown to law enforcement.
Somewhat of a ghost one man sleeper cell who decided to attack for reasons unknown.
The most scary and dangerous type of perp as there is literally no way of detecting when this type will decide to act ?
Assuming that yesterday's toll of ten included the shooter, and it would indicate another person has passed, placing the death toll at eleven now.

Sounds like a disturbed loner.
Not much information regarding the school; but it sounded like an adult school/college aka a tech school for languages and other careers like computing or vocational skills ?
My utmost condolences to the families of the deceased.
So many lives shattered. :(
Imo.

Quoting myself, so they are only talkin about one weapon now! But it is said "found next to him" so I guess it is possible there is more someplace else. But will wait for Police info until posting more. The media is all over the place right now. Sorry if I helped to mislead anyone. The press around here are not used to this.

Pics of the shooter Rickard Andersson aka Jonas Simon.
Legally changed his name eight years ago.
Had "extreme social phobia".
His eyes are somewhat reminiscent of Adam Lanza's.

Also at the DM link, there is an interpreter for the police press conference.
Imo.

According to a BBC article, his relatives and friends say he changed his last name eight years ago, lost contact with everyone, and was unemployed. They also suspect he may have had mental health problems. Although I know this is not enough to assume that someone would commit such a terrible act, I feel it should be enough to prevent them from obtaining a license for a hunting gun.

In an interview with the Aftonbladet tabloid, a relative of the suspect says he had not had much contact with family in recent years and was unemployed.
"As a child he was different but lively. He did well at school. But recent years were tough for him."
Another relative says the man, who allegedly changed his surname eight years ago, was a "recluse" and may have had mental health problems.
"Before, he had a friend he spent a lot of time with, but not now. He wants to be on his own. He doesn't seem to like people much."

Hmmm...
Recluse, not employed...
So,
How did he manage to support himself?
You know,
Accommodation rent, bills, food expenses and guns.
Bills unfortunately don't pay themselves.

Interesting that he changed his name.
Like, cutting ties with the past?

Did his parents finance him?

It could be family maybe parents supporting him or he was on unemployment fund.

Social services. Extreme social phobia lead to that he couldn’t support himself it seems.

I understand.

But,
it should mean he had to be under the care of a psychiatrist in order to get documents about this "extreme social phobia"
and provide them to Social Services to obtain money this way.
Social Services need legitimate "papers"
(at least in my country).

It is not that a person can say
'Hey, I need money b/c I suffer from social anxiety and cannot work'.

But the problem I see is
that this individual had weapons.
He had gun permit.

If he was financed by parents
the problem is the same.
Did they know about his gun permission?
Because they surely knew about his worrying MH issues.

RIP to all poor innocent victims :(

Anyway- two strange findings:
Source: Teorin: Dådet kan ha varit riktat mot socialen

1. LE has found more than one additional guns hidden inside the school.

2. LE claims that a few social workers ”are missing”. This is very strange and I can only explain it by the unfortunate idea that they were shot in their heads beyond visual recognition.

IMHO
