I’m just hoping to widen the geographics on the cases of missing people on Websleuths.

I’m aware that this is a US forum but want to emphasize that there’s also a global need for envolment. In my opinion a missing person is worth the utmost attention despite of the location, nationality, ethnicity or language.

I as well wish to post more about the Scandinavian & international cases but unfortunately it’s quite time consuming to try to translate every single detail into English.

Her friend got her message and I didn’t read anything about it as being suspicious. Anything is possible it could have been from someone else using her phone but no info about it as what it said.

Something that I have been thinking about is her clothes. I have not seen any clothes description on news. On above website from the police it says that it is not known how she was dressed ( not definietly) isnt that strange? She was out with friends why nobody would describe her clothing? I understand that she might have changed at home once she got back so nobody knows what is she wearing. That would be strange to come home leave phone change and then what? go out again? Did someone come with her to her apartment ? Did someone invite her in to their apartment for another drink who lives close by? So many questions!

Police’s search for missing Maline has stalled

Maline, 31, has been missing for a week. The police suspect kidnapping and despite intensive investigative work and many tips, the investigation has stalled.

The difficulties for us are lack of information. We’re stuck. We are where we are when it comes to the last safe point where we know what the position is, says Kent Persson, investigator of serious crimes in Helsingborg.

He refers to the last observation of Maline made at four o’clock in the morning on December 23. Then an acquaintance of Maline’s observed her in her apartment on Föreningsgatan in Landskrona. After that, the police have nothing concrete to go on.

“Today, the police carried out a search operation in a secret location after the missing Maline, 31 years old.

Information obtained by the police led to the use of a dog patrol to check several places. But the search did not yield any results.”

Hello there my neighbour, too! Glad you are here although under these sad circumstances.

Yes, Landskrona seems to be a town of approximately 33 K inhabitants, probably much less in the very central area.

Looking at Maline’s FB profile it seems she has been visiting places called “Chaplin billiard” (right before her disappearance) and “Restaurang Tycho Brahe” earlier this month. What surprises me is that persons with whom she has been with have not been interviewed by media or their contribution to the investigation has not been published.

Only her close friend -with a Finnish family name- has been active in the media to my understanding… Fika, has there been more information on these subjects in local or national medias?

Two locations plus beach. She lived in Central Landskrona, so close to the restaurant and billiards hall, also close to the water where a victim with similar circumstances was found at a similar time of year.

The missing lady seems to have quite dark skin and hair for a Swede.
I see she comes from Landskrona which has a lot of Muslim immigrants from Syria etc.
I'm wondering if she may have been one herself, and possibly having family trouble.....maybe forced marriage or threats from her family over lifestyle choice? It's one line of inquiry.

Many native Swedes have dark hair and quite dark complexion. Not everyone there is a pale faced blonde. Also, Maline is Swedish and Norwegian short for Magdalene, so nothing here points towards this lady being of middle eastern descent.

To my understanding of the news articles she was seen by some neighbours while in after party in her residential building. It is not clear and not a translation issue because I don’t understand it myself what exactly they mean. There is timeline of her disappearance but its still confusing to me. I will look for a link.

so thats an example of a conflicting information. One says there was a party in her apartment and other says that it was a party in her building. I don’t really know anymore which one is true.

You’re doing brilliantly helping us all with this. The information made available in missing person cases can be confusing and contradictory at the best of times and it’s proving to be really tricky when all the info isn’t in English.

Thank you for all your efforts. I know we all agree that missing people are important, wherever their location and we all will do our upmost to try to make sense of what’s happened to Maline. I will be heading to bed soon and will pray for her safety and hope that she will be found soon, safe and well.

Are there lots of cameras in the area to catch people on video such as we seem to have here in the US?
Could it be that if the after party was in the building Maline lived in rather than her personal apartment that she left her phone in her apartment while she was at the party and left with someone without getting her phone first?
I hope she is found safe soon.

Her surname is of Nigerian origin, I believe and if you look at her Facebook profile photos of the past year or so, you'll see very much that she identifies as black. All the cartoon profiles of her depict that.
