I am following too.

Eirin Mikkelsen - I looked her up. Very sad. No signs of foul play, it appears she may have drowned, but seems it is not entirely solved.
(Attached report from Jan. 2020, when she was found, states "We still suspect that she has been the victim of a crime in connection with his (sp) disappearance")

The connections are a little too much for me.
Same small town.
Same time of year, a day or two before Christmas.
Both Maline and Eirin were at the same bar before they vanished.
They have common acquaintances.

The reason I looked for pictures of Eirin online was because I wanted to see her appearance....different expressions, angles etc.
Sure enough, there is a similarity. The same straight dark shoulder length hair, no bangs. The picture attached shows a particular likeness to Maline.

It makes one wonder, the possibility that a person has a irrational fixation on women who resemble someone in his own past, someone who has caused him to be enraged for one reason or another....a mother, a previous girlfriend for example.

Though I too am native Dutch, like @Fika here, I do not understand written Swedish enough to be of much help with articles.

Just adding some thoughts, and still hoping that Maline, somehow, is safe somewhere.

Her surname is of Nigerian origin, I believe and if you look at her Facebook profile photos of the past year or so, you'll see very much that she identifies as black. All the cartoon profiles of her depict that.

Yes, her last name is Persson. She’s on Facebook without her family name.

That is a beautiful tan that maline has, she possibly likes the darker aesthetics but she is not a black woman. Anyhow her absence definitely sounds suspicious.

Yes her surname is definitely swedish. I know two people with the same surname who are unrelated. It is very common surname here. As of her public registration information her full name doesn’t involve last name from her Facebook. It means that Facebook one is probably a nickname or something simply added. Anyone can make up name on Facebook without using a real one.

Drone search for missing Maline, 31, in Landskrona

Maline, 31, has been missing for more than a week. On Saturday, the police are looking for her with a drone in central Landskrona.

Noone has seen her since 04:00, the morning of 23 December. Actually, Maline would have attended a Christmas lunch with friends, but she never showed up.
During the holidays, the voluntary organization FIKK has searched for her, but without success. But now the police are conducting drone searches for her, including around Fågeldammen in Landskrona.
- It is in areas in the city that you find interesting simply, says police spokesperson Evelina Olsson.
- Should it be the case that there is any success there, we will of course communicate it, says Olsson.
The police have previously confirmed that Maline, the night before, visited the local billiard club in Landskrona. After that, at 23 o'clock in the evening, she left the room in the company of others.

Later in the evening, she participated in an after-party in the residential building where she has her apartment. Police have also confirmed that Maline's mobile phone was left in the apartment after the disappearance was reported.

Suspected kidnapping

The police went out early with a picture to get tips from the public.
- The influx of tips in the case has been great. But we have not yet had any major success in the work of finding out what happened, Commissioner Kent Persson has previously told Kvällsposten.

The headline has been suspected of kidnapping since the Christmas weekend, that she was abducted against her will. This is so that the police will have access to more resources during the investigation.

- Many in Maline's circle of acquaintances are heard. We have also knocked on doors and made a physical effort at a place in Landskrona, said Commissioner Kent Persson on weekdays.

Her eyes are extremely pale blue and are not contact lenses in my opinion. I do not see what you are describing on her social media. Jmo

No problem. So far no new info, it’s been a really long time that she is missing. Wish there was more information out to talk about but so far its old news plus new searches. I’m curious about the party aspect as reported in the news. I have a feeling that someone got back to her apartment with her and something bad happened in there but yet there should be evidence of crime. I wish to know if her apartment door was unlocked or not .

In Sweden we have public registry of citizens including name , adress, phone number plus some more paid information. By public registry her full name is Maline Adrijana Bianca Persson .

Has she perhaps changed the spelling of her name for friends etc? Does the added E change the pronunciation? Is it similar to being called Elizabeth, but being called Liz or Libby for short?

Sorry to be so focused on this, but it seems there remains confusion regarding identifying her in Facebook etc. The spelling is part of this confusion, for me at least. Has an official photo of her been released by the police?

Maline seems to be her official name although the more common version in Sweden is “Malin.”
