A 25-year-old man, a suspect in a murder in Sweden have been caught at a border control in the US. He's one of three persons arrested in their absence for the murder of Ako, a 37-year-old man, found in a bag found in Värmdö, outside Stockholm, on March 10, 2024. Four people are suspects in the murder: a couple, she 24, and he 23; her 25-year-old brother; and his 19-year-old relative (possible a brother), arrested in Sweden. The woman's two young children are also missing. All the suspects are from Afghanistan, but have lived in Sweden since 2015/2016, and have a permanent permission to live in Sweden. The victim was also from Afghanistan, but had lived in Sweden for a long time, and was probably a Swedish citizen. It was his ex-wife who reported him missing, when she couldn't get in touch with him after an arranged meeting with the young couple. There were some kind of work connection/relations between them.
The murder was possibly planned before the meeting, as the couple had bought plane tickets for March 8, possibly to Latin America. It's also possible that they are somewhere in the US, and that her brother was to meet them there.

Sorry, all links in Swedish:

Three of the persons involved in this crime have been acquitted of "honour"-based killing, but were convicted of lesser charges in May 2025. The suspected killer is still on the run.
