It wasn't just him though. It was a team and special company in Arcata who built it and helped with the idea. They worked really hard to come up with this and to do it quickly. I would think all help would be appreciated. We don't know yet if they will be used or not. The pods are there now and there are still 9 to rescue.

If they were really concerned, why didn't they get started weeks ago, instead of when it was too late? I think they just saw all the publicity this was getting, so they decided they should get involved.

Awwww! ❤️
I wish I could embed the other one, but it's twitter, and I guess that's a no-no...

Ideas don't always come right away though?

What if it helps with the remaining 9?

What if it helps in the future?

I guess I don't get the hate because both ideas have potential to help save lives.

If they were really concerned, why didn't they get started weeks ago, instead of when it was too late? I think they just saw all the publicity this was getting, so they decided they should get involved.

It's never too late, KaaBoom. We don't know how much longer this may take, so if it's needed and gets there before they are all out, so be it. It may still be needed --- or not.

But there can be another side to this besides publicity. If it works and is used, then kudos to them and they can have all the publicity granted to them.

I choose to believe in the humanity of mankind. We (and they) are all pulling together the best we can. It was one thing they thought they could contribute. I guess we can go back when this is over and complain about anything that we didn't like, but for now I choose to concentrate on the positives and leave negative enrgy out of this. I hope no kne brings me back down too drastically, though I have had my ups and downs, too.

Let's all try to keep this focused on the positives and save negatives for later.

They were found on the 3rd and he tweeted about finding a solution for it on the 5th.

After the success with the first four, why would they be waiting until tomorrow (Monday) to rescue the remainder of the boys and the coach? Surely the divers don't need that much rest! Could they be awaiting more or different type of equipment? Waiting for the capsule thingy from Elon Musk for boys who are sicker or not as strong as the first four were?

The frustrations we are having with there being a military dictatorship in Thailand and the government controlling the news sure points out the difference between what we have here in the U.S. Doesn't it?

Reported earlier on this thread and in media the tanks are being refilled. Evidentially there were not many extra back up tanks already filled with air and/or more were needed then thought. The couplings or whatever they are called have to match on the masks and tanks. Seals have to be checked, many safety rules have to be followed. The best way would have been to have hundreds of tanks ready to go but was that feasible? Also, from country to country, military or civilian are the tanks and masks are the the same and interchangeable? I would think not. Also each diver may want to recheck the tanks etc he is given to use for safety, backing up the person who initially filled them. I would. Any divers out there that can really give us the low down.....thanks.

I suspect that the Thai govt has this under control, but I’m happy to help if there is a way to do so

So he wanted to help pretty quickly.

Love to all the helpers <3

Weeks ago?

July 2nd: Kids were "accidentally" found by British searchers when the assumption was they had drowned.

July 3rd: Food, water, medicine and doctor hurriedly dived in to the kids. Ropes were attached to walls as directional guides.

July 4th: Elon Musk states he’s happy to help but suspects Thai King and Thai Navy Seals had it under control.

July 5th: Elon Musk begins planning rescue pods AT HIS OWN EXPENSE.

LOL! But that's so gentle! I was trying to figure out something really nasty! hahaha :)

Lol I never thought of that word being gentle. I thought I'd get a time out if I spell it out .

Early June? That's a month ago.

There is no excuse for keeping those boys from their parents, it just prolongs their trauma :(

It may prolongs the parent's trauma somewhat. But I think each by will be so elated and relieved, to be out of the cave and inside a hospital, with warmth and clean clothes, and good food, they will be fine without Mom and Dad for a few more hours.

And I don't think the first boys out, want to 'celebrate' or be too excited, until their teammates and their coach is out too.

lol, KaaBoom. You really hate him don't you!
I agree with both sides here (as I often do in debates!)
I agree with you that if he really gave a rat's 🤬🤬🤬, then he would've been there day one, without even being requested.... (and he did kinda brush off the origanal request. I thought he had offered in gerneral, himself at first, but understand it was in response to a tweet.)
...and I agree, that now since it will garner him PR and accolades, he's all over it.
But I also agree that if it's going to get these sweetiepies safely home, then let's say halleluja!
Then when it's all over, people will see a pattern and can call him a PR-grubbing-dirtbag. :)

(And I'm still not convinced anything legitimate is actually on its way.)

I'm pretty sure the tunnel and the first set of pods are already there.

So that little sub looks pretty darn slick, but they need to rush as it will take time to get to Thailand unless it goes on a Concord. I would also hope it is equipped with emergency communication in the event the oxygen fails or whatever. Go Elon!

The way the hole has been described I cannot see something like that getting through. The diver has to take his tank off to get through.

Hate is a strong word. Lets just say, I'm unimpressed with his response to this tragedy. Until this, I didn't really have any opinion on him. I had head of him, but that was about it.

Perhaps, like me, Elon did not understand the gravity of the situation until it progressed. We are all so distracted by the business of living. I'm glad he has been able to contribute his genius to what we pray will be a successful second mission. Prayers for all.
