I'm wondering if the journey out might take a little bit longer when the divers are bringing a boy with them. Instead of only looking out for themselves and their buddy diver they also have to keep a very close eye on the boy who they're traveling with.

And the boys might take some brief breathing/rest stops along the way, and then a longer rest in Chamber 3.

Maybe it will still work out to around 11 hours in total for the first boy, because the incoming divers might have less difficulty getting to the boys' cave now that the waters are down a bit?

CHIANG RAI
— After 16 days trapped in the dark, a yet unknown number of boys are several hours into their dangerous journey out.

Narongsak Osottanakorn, the official leading the rescue, announced that they entered the water and left the chamber where they’ve been trapped for 16 days three and a half hours ago at 2pm.

They are traveling in staggered pairs and could emerge at about 6:30pm if it takes as long to come out as it did to go in.

OMG if the above timeline is accurate, the first arrivals could be
out right now. How I hope the above is accurate.
Hope locals are listening for helicopters!!!!

CHIANG RAI
— At least two boys have been successfully rescued from the flooded Luang cave Sunday afternoon.

In a triumph for an uncertain mission fraught with danger, initial reports said the unidentified children were able to walk out on their own feet to an ambulance after 16 days trapped in the dark and flooded cave complex.

No official announcement has been made and the news could not be immediately confirmed with tight-lipped officials.

There has reportedly been a flurry of activity near the cave with people being ordered to leave the sides of the roads amid rumours a high-ranking politician may soon be arriving.

Given the timing, it’s unlikely the boys are coming out so quickly, since rescue operations only started at 9 today and it takes several hours to reach them, and hours to come back. But could be a VIP visit? People being told to leave the side of the road

My guess is that the first boy is about half-way through and the second has just set off?

These reports don't make a lot of sense as the latest updates is that they're going to be extracted in groups of three.

Those lists of the assisting countries must need updating, because there's also an Israeli team, and I think a Dutch team for the pumping, and I think some expert cave divers went in this weekend from somewhere in Scandinavia?

Excellent point -- and yes it'll likely take a bit longer, but still not seeing 11 hours; and sure as heck hope not. But whatever it takes....just as long as they get out safely! ❤️

...could also be they don't want spectaters close to ambulances as they go by.
If divers came straight through with no breaks or stops (which)
I believe they would do, if boys are quiet and sedated) we could be hearing of boys impending arrival. I think it's do-able.

I hope the newest rumours (2 of our Wild Boars out) prove true. If so, it may mean they are moving a bit quicker than they estimated.

*Crossing my fingers, toes and eyes!*

I just heard on ABC News Radio Australia that one boy at a time is being brought out.

It's hard to know what to believe.

Thai cave rescue: governor says it is unknown when boys will be out – live

This report is from about ten minutes before the one about the possible VIP arriving

The operation began at 10am when 13 international divers entered the cave. 10 of them headed for chamber 9 (where the boys are) and chamber 6 (near the junction) as planned. Another 3 cave divers performed their duty to support diving efforts beginning at 14.00.

There are a number of additional rescue personnel including divers, from Thailand, USA, Australia, China and Europe stationed from chamber 3 to the entrance. This includes a rope system to assist over difficult terrain in chambers 2 and 3.

It also says it's unknown exactly how long the transit time will be.

My comment would be that for those at the entrance, even they might not know until shortly before the first boy comes out. And we probably won't have any idea until the first helicopter takes off to take the first boy off to hospital?

2 boys have walked out of the cave according to an unconfirmed source!

But what if all these "unconfirmed reports say" are just following that unclear one about "2 boys go out"

I'm so sorry, I don't want to get excited until I know for sure!

So first 2 should be on way to hospital by now. those reports of boys
walking out are 2 hours old.
