Hoping that the dear old elderly Monks are still praying.

It appears to be a triage coding, not the conditions that you get reported when someone is in hospital treatment.

I think it might be CARIIS who posted the explanations for the Red/Yellow/Green codes a page or so back?

not I! I wondered if they are diff over there ?

In Thailand, an error in judgement can have you imprisoned for a long time.
In US as well. Lets say a driver forgot a child on a school bus or in a van. Certainly there was no intent to cause harm. But if that child is severely hurt or dies, that could mean long prison time.

funny :

Sky

apparently a couple of days ago one of the guys who went in first called it gnarly!

Our proper British journalists are discussing gnarly and are a dash off mates!!

I recall reading/hearing someone say that! I remember gnarly being an old suffer term...

I will be very upset if charges are filed against him. He made an error in judgement taking the boys into the cave, not a criminal act.
He more than likely saved these boys lives in that cave! I doubt they would be alive had it not been for him. He is a hero in my mind!

Dear Kkdj,

My thoughts, exactly.

Before I even learned that the coach gave so much of his life for the kids to have adventures and grow their confidence, it was obvious that he kept these boys alive until the rescuers got to them.

I do not believe there was any intent on his part for any of this to happen.

When all of the boys are safely out, along with the divers, the world will feel great joy.

I hope all people remember that forgiveness lives with joy.

Praying for strength and comfort for all involved.

Namaste,

I don’t think any of their possible dive was near deep enough or fast enough for that to be a concern.

TY, I'll cross the bends off my worry list :)

EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE

“Priority 1 (Red) Serious but salvageable life threatening injury/illness
Victims with life-threatening injuries or illness (such as head injuries, severe burns, severe bleeding, heart-attack, breathing-impaired, internal injuries) are assigned a priority 1 or "Red" Triage tag code (meaning first priority for treatment and transportation).
Priority 2 (Yellow) Moderate to serious injury/illness (not immediately life-threatening)
Victims with potentially serious (but not immediately life-threatening) injuries (such as fractures) are assigned a priority 2 or "Yellow" (meaning second priority for treatment and transportation) Triage tag code.
Priority 3 (Green) "Walking-wounded"
Victims who are not seriously injured, are quickly triaged and tagged as "walking wounded", and a priority 3 or "green" classification (meaning delayed treatment/transportation). Generally, the walking wounded are escorted to a staging area out of the "hot zone" to await delayed evaluation and transportation.”

Bringing forward for those just joining us. These are the basic emergency mass casualty triage codes.

I learned it meant really rough during the Orville dam disaster and a periscope dude!

Does anyone have one of those graphs handy that they wouldn't mind reposting? To see where chamber 3 exactly is?

:). Me too. I've read in multiple places the monks prayed hardest for it not to rain, and feel that their prayers were answered. :)

I am convinced angels are guiding the boys and rescuers.

We have learned in the past days how really complex this operation is. Its very very complex.

-Long ways to get out to the opening
-Under water through certain sections
-Oxygen limited
-Dark in cave.
-Visibility limited to nonexistent some parts.
-Health was diminished due to how long stuck in cave
-Limited mobility
-Some sections can barely fit through horizontally
-Have to move up, down, sideways to get out
-Hungry
-Language barriers
-Very young boys

This is nothing short of a MIRACLE that we are beginning to hear good news of some boys are now out of the cave.

This story is proof that when we all treat each other with respect and courtesy that the whole world can work together for a common goal. I am so happy and tears of JOY right now.

Continued prayers for everyone involved.

The one boy said to be code red......means serious right? Out here we have serious condition then the next is critical condition. Do they differentiate the two in Thailand?

Red is common coding used in emergency field hospitals. It is very serious (means something like breathing problems or cardiac arrest) but the most serious code is black-- a black code would mean that there is no hope of resuscitation and they will be made comfortable until they die. Red means there is hope but condition is severe and they will receive immediate first priority treatment, IMO.

not sure, couldn't find anything for Thailand. Universally accepted that Code Red means cardiopulmonary situation.
Basically in this instance that tells me he was not breathing on
arrival. Depending on how long he was in distress, it's a touch
and go on survival and how much permanent damage was done.

Many apologies, it was Keeleydoll who posted the triage code chart, and who has helpfully brought it forward for us.
