Hi again everyone! Just got all caught up and am here for the evening shift! It's now 12:10pm in Thailand and if we go by yesterday's successful extraction, then it may not be too terribly long before that amazing rescue team gets some more of our Wild Boars. I'm guessing maybe around 6pm Thai time... and you know what? I take that back. That is a long time from now. ;) It's an agonising wait.

Hope you folks are all well and have gotten some rest. Our circle of hope is as ever unbroken. My we see continued miracles, and may the divine watch over the Wild Boars, their friends and families, and all those involved in the rescue attempt.

Well, he didn't go first anyway, for whatever reason, even though all accounts have said he is the most weakened.

I very much believe he had the right of refusal- -he's an adult, not a child, but in any case can't think of any reason why making him go first would have benefitted the overall mission. It's far more likely that he & the rescuers believed it would be to the boys' benefit to have him go with the final group, so he will be able to reassure & calm each boy up until they put on their face mask & dive into the dark.
I'm not sure of his

consciousness
from the last I heard.

Like V has been singing, "RAIN, RAIN, GO aWAY..."

*it's so weird the places WS takes you. In Savanna Greywind's ase I was literally doing a Raindance around the fiire with some Native American friends, that she be found. And doing the rain dance here in burning Colorado now (which BTW have not even checked in on, more concerned about all this right now...for all I know Southern Colorado cold have burned up by now).

But doing the Anti-Raindance in Thailand...

Let's hold hands once again. Human WS chain around the world.

I wish we could drag the rain clouds to where they are needed and away from where they are a detriment.

The reporting is terrible -First it was reported there were six taken out – no four – confirmed four. The weakest came out first – no the strongest- wait it was the weakest. It was four boys – these are their names- no it was three boys and the coach-the coach was among the first to be taken out because he was weak from giving the others his food- no it was four boys who were taken out first… There was a red alert – no it was a mistake-

The reporting is conflicting, confusing and sometimes wrong but after the rescue mission is completed things will settle down and hopefully the real story will be revealed. All we can do is stand together in our vigil, as a united group, quietly waiting, hoping and praying. Because that is what Websleuth members do.

Thai cave rescue: Stateless teen Adul Sam-on, the only English speaker among those trapped, praised as 'gem'

MAE SAI (AFP) - Born in Myanmar, raised by Christian teachers in Thailand, and now trapped in a flooded cave for 13 days, Adul Sam-on's unflinching politeness and startling ability to speak English is capturing hearts.

Images of the wide-eyed teen were beamed around the world when he was discovered alive with the rest of his young football team deep inside the Tham Luang cave.

He remains stuck in the bowels of the mountain as rescuers work out how to get the 12 boys and their coach out safely, a race against time with heavy rains expected to return soon.

Adul is among more than 400,000 people who are registered as stateless in Thailand, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) - though some estimates put their numbers at 3.5 million.

"While some progress has been made, stateless people in Thailand continue to face challenges accessing their basic rights," UNHCR spokesman Hannah Macdonald told AFP.

With no birth certificate, no ID card and no passport, Adul cannot legally marry, get a job or bank account, travel, own property or vote.

Thailand has vowed to register all stateless people by 2024, but until then people like him remain stuck in legal limbo.

More about Adul at the above link.

While watching the Reuters live feed, is the cave straight ahead or to the right?

How reliable is the info from the Daily Mail article?
They're saying the rescued boys hugged their parents before being brought to hospital, while other media are showing pictures of parents waiting for news after the rescue, quoting them as saying they haven't been told who has been rescued?

?

Get some rest girl, like I said we all still need to sleep and bathe and hopefully all the boys and rescuers, volunteers, etc will be able to do so soon also!

PS: these divers are absolute heros. I can't even get over it.
(Eta: seriously hot, moo)

In the spirit of Saman, Foxfire and like you guys said Buddha to Jesus to Krishna to whatever good you believe in, love, humanity, nature...

Eta: I've got beer and mac and cheese.

Eta: And if it turns out to be an all-nighter, well then I thoroughly plan on calling in sick tomorrow.

Eta: having tech diffs so if you see a bunch of typos please excuse. Will do my best. So glad we are here together.

I feel bad for when they find out that a diver lost his life on the mission. That would be really hard on me, if I were them.

Thanks Margarita. I pay a lot of attention to your posts.
I'm on pins and needled with this rescue.
I wish we could get some updates as far as how the missions are going. They are so many hours long!

Hmmmmm . . . could this update be accurate? Worrisome?

Official: Rescue operation hasn't resumed yet
Live: Thai cave rescue underway - CNN

The operation to extricate the remaining trapped boys and their coach from deep within a Thai cave has not resumed, says Deputy Commander to 3rd Army Region Maj. Gen. Chalongchai Chaiyakum.

The general, who is involved in the decision-making process, told CNN on the phone: “The operation has not resumed yet. We are still in meetings.”

Late Sunday, officials said the operation would pause for at least 10 hours to allow them time to refill spent oxygen tanks.

Maybe they have to update the new divers that came in from England. I imagine it is a lot of info to get across- mapping, etc. Maybe it gave everyone plenty of time to sleep which is very important right now. They also have to make sure they have plenty of air tanks along their route. Considering it is a 8-11 round trip- that takes time. At least, this is what I'm hoping.
