I read it twice, and I'm almost certain that the report says only that no MALE DNA could be detected! Now why the heck would they be looking for male DNA when Zanny the Nanny is female?? :waitasec:

Good observation, AZlawyer! And, when Baez was asking for funds to have these tests run, did he ever tell HHJP that he was going to ask the lab to ONLY run tests to detect "male DNA?"

I thought the exact same thing. If tested for female DNA, Casey or Cindy's DNA would not have been overly suspicious, but foreign female DNA would have to be the Nanny.

This tells us a great deal about the existence of Zanny.

However, I'm wondering if they found enough usable dna for testing of either gender.

Looks to me like they tested only for genes that would be on the Y-chromosome, so even if there were a full female DNA profile found, it would show up as "no result" for those genes.

My guess is they didn't want to find out that the ONLY DNA (if any) present was Caylee's and Casey's.

:twocents: TESTED for ELEVEN (yes 11) MALE SPECIFIC loci, ONLY! Yep, this test focuses on the Y chromosome and is USUALLY utilized to determine PATERNAL linkage!

So is Kronk,(kinda, maybe), not going to get run over by Casey's RV...?

Why would they not run test for Female DNA as well..since the tests were being conducted?

I imagine they feared that the only DNA that could be identified would belong to Casey and Caylee.

Maybe because if they found DNA and it was only ICA and/or CA then that wouldn't help ... thus excluding a ZFG or other females. Personally I don't think that there was any DNA to be found given the elements and while it is expected for the A's DNA to be present ... the absence of other DNA would focus on them.

I didn't want to get it lost in this thread, but after the Eikelenbooms report, there is a letter from Dr Fairgrieve agreeing that all his statements in his deposition included all the opinions he will render in this case.

Also, after that is Dr Furton's report saying that there are no scientifically validated
methods capable of identifying the presence of human remains.......

I don't know how to break these reports out from the document, but feel they should be in the proper threads.

and a jury will find this odd, don't you think?

If ICA claims of ZFG, why not test for female DNA? Were they afraid who's might be there?

This doesn't help the defense, IMO and was a huge waste of taxpayers money...still waiting for that Aha moment...JMHO
