The elusive "other" cell phone - the Blackjack - REVISITED

I don't know what the heck a "Blackjack" phone looks like (I could look but I get more answers here and faster than google I swear!)

What phone is on the table here? Is this a blackjack or am I way off?

I am not sure if there was a second phone or not. I do remember one thread that we did about the phone a while back and one sum of money that she had stolen exactly matched the price of a black jack.

I can say from my previous experiene with T mobile that you do switch the sim cards back and forth BUT there is a way to store contacts on the phones themselves rather than on the sim card.

I think that this is the reason that she was trying to use as to why she didn't have the numbers......*I stored it on the actual phone rather than the sim card and now the phone is lost* kinda thing....idk just my two cents.

Well, what we do know as fact, is she wasn't working at Universal. We have no proof that she wasn't working at all, just that if she was working, she lied about what she was doing.

There is no proof as to whether she was working at Universal or not.

She could have been working "undercover" for Universal. I am sure that top executives can find things for her to do absent from their business payroll.
Perhaps they make the connections and someone else makes the payments.??????

I know. But do we think CASEY knew that? That's why I personally think the conversation with her and Lee regarding the "blackjack" and "switching [Sim card] back and forth" makes no sense. Sure she could have been just sending Lee on a goose chase, or maybe it was Casey-code.

I'm with you on this one. I don't think this girl thinks more than twenty seconds into the future, and never considered how easy it would be for anyone with half a brain to take apart all these tales she's spun. I think she had no idea that the physical phone had nothing to do with tracking calls, and that's why she thought the nutty "lost phone" story would fly. I think you're right on with this.

:

No legitimate work that is. This doesn't mean she wasn't doing somekind of work under the radar. She could have even been doing some
"services" for guys at Universal. Something not on their regular "payroll."

totally with you on this one. definitely something shady going on.

All true enough, but LE should have been able to find the number on the call records, regardless of whether or not she had a phone, sim, or hardcopy list anywhere bearing that information. As far as we know, there is simply no evidence that the nanny ever existed, and those phone records would have easily proved that she did.

Just a reference for anyone who would like to know what a blackjack looks like.

Her hair is REALLY short in this photo - does anyone know when this was taken - or it is my imagination on how short her hair is....

I don't think there is anything even remotely that complex. I think it's just as simple as she didn't have a job and she survived stealing from family and friends.

No matter what phone(s) she had it's just stupid to come up with a story like that. Every call that's been made or received is just as close as logging onto her AT&T account online.

:blowkiss: Someone else could have provided the phone for "work related" reasons. Please remember the backward thread and how "Carmen trashed it".

Last night on NG, Nate, room mate of TonE talked about Caylee playing with him and another room mate named Carmen. Hummmmm makes you wonder.
The plot thickens.

Nate on Nancy Grace said Cameron, or Cam in Caylee's little song. "Wake up Nate, Wake up Cam..."

I DVR'd it and just checked to make sure.

HTH's!

Some members with blackjack experience have stated that they do not hold a charge very well, just as Casey has stated.

I think there is a blackjack out there and it was hidden for a reason. I also believe it has a different account and phone number. Casey discussed how she used one SIM card in both phones and that could be because she was transferring her phone book from her old phone to the new one. I know this isn't easy to explain but it seems to be the most likely to me.

2 Accounts
2 Phone Numbers
2 SIM Cards

She stated in the 400 page discovery that she had the blackjack for work. You don't get a second phone with the same number for work. It's just not feasible.

Hypothetically... and IMOO

She has a cell phone. She has her little phonebook of friends' numbers saved to this phone's SIM card.

She gets a 2nd phone, different number and account for work.

She wants to put her old phonebook of numbers on the new phone so she takes her SIM card from her original phone with phonebook in tact and puts it in her new blackjack and saves that phonebook to her new blackjack.

Voila, she now has the same phonebook now on both phones. The only difference is, the phonebook on her original phone is stored on that SIM card, where as, the blackjack only has those numbers stored on the phone, since only one SIM card can be in a phone at one time. At that point, she very well could have went a step further and saved the numbers from the blackjack to the blackjack SIM card.

This is why she might know right off hand who's numbers were stored on the blackjack and who's were stored on SIM cards.

Whatever Casey was doing for work or why she had this blackjack, I don't believe there will be anything on it to prove Zanny's existence. I think it may provide more information as to what she was doing for work though.

And as always, this is my opinion.

:clap: My God! You've actually waded through Casey's double-talk and came up with legitimate information! Every time I listened to her explain that to Lee, my eyes would cross--thanks for making it clear--she ALMOST told the truth!

Ok, I had an experience of using a SIM card from an old phone in a new phone that I had bought but did not tell my carrier that I had switched to... BUT, when I went online to pay my bill, they had my new cellphone listed in my account. It kind of freaked me out because I had never reported to them that I had started using a different model phone. So I started digging around and I think what it is, is that if you take a SIM card from #1 phone and put it in a #2 phone (say, a Blackjack), when the SIM is connected to the carrier, the IMEI # of the #2 phone (say, a Blackjack) gets detected, telling the carrier what model/type phone the SIM is being used in.

(I hope that makes sense... and I am no expert on cell phones, so I could be wrong... but that is how I came to understand how my cell knew about my new model cellphone I had not bought from them. )

So, maybe her cell carrier may be able to provide info if they have ever detected the IMEI number of a Blackjack, in which she put her SIM in and used?

I think that she did/does have a BlackJack and that she either really did lose it while she was out playing in the woods or swamp somewhere, or she intentionally threw it away because it had incriminating emails/text mssg/web pages stored on it. Those things are internet capable I assume.

hmmmmmmmmmmm could it have been "Car men trashed it" or "Car man trashed it" instead of Carmen?

LOL It's harder to explain than it was for me to understand. I have ATT also and I am very familiar with the SIM cards. I could just tell that her excuses were lame from the moment she opened her mouth.

Just as she said "that's just the thing" when Lee caught her in the lie and her notorious "after the fact" ordeal. She did away with that phone for a reason. It's incriminating and would possibly incriminate someone else if the account holder was known. IMO of course.

She used a checking account to pay her bill online which could also carry a wire fraud charge. That is federal charges I do believe.

The transaction was "denied" as there was not enough funds in the account (Amy's).
