The elusive "other" cell phone - the Blackjack - REVISITED

Here's the thing ... I don't buy the switched the SIM card between phones story ... I had given a friend one of my old cell phones to use so they didn't have to buy one. When I got a new phone they'd get my old one to replace the current one they were borrowing. Everytime they switched phones, we would have to contact the wireless carrier. They always requested the number on the SIM card and the info from the phone to activate it.

Unless technology changed, I don't see how she could get by without contacting her carrier each time she swapped back & forth to the "BlackJack".

My kids do it all the time, we have tmobile and they swap phones, all they have to do is swap sims and go about their business. Nothing else has to be done.

maybe it wasnt the phone she was trying to ditch, but the SIM card? I mean, maybe it was her phone, but she had someone else's SIM card in it because her phone had been turned off or to use to stay "off the radar".

I think Casey did buy the phone from AT&T. If she stole the phone, she would not have any reason to mention it to LE. She had to mention the phone to LE because AT&T would have a record of her purchase. She also had to come up with a reason why she did not have the phone any longer.

First she told LE she left it at work on her desk. During her interview (7/16 4:11 at home) with LE, she was asked, "Okay, so the phone where you have the number saved was lost?" Casey replies, "Yes, I filed an incident report." (LE didn't ask if she filled out any reports - volunteering too much information?) She wanted LE to know the phone was missing and she did complete a report with Universal Security on the lost phone. She also said she made the report about 9 days ago.... July 7? maybe.
IMO, that phone was used to make calls Casey did not want LE to know about...Too bad Casey didn't realize, LE would be able to obtain a record of calls made on her account...new phone or old phone - the calls are documented. Or maybe it contains physical evidence.... i.e Caylee's blood.

I think the she pitched the phone out the car window... or maybe she buried it somewhere.

Amazing... she'll report a missing phone but not a missing child.

This is not the best pidture I have seen but it was the first one I could dig up.

This link does not work from this page. I have no idea why. It works from a word doc. where I copied it to but not when you re-copy it. I did a search and found it already posted on the forum. You could do a search under the original name who posted the info and look at that way. Sorry.

Maybe some one can tell me why this happens. I am like 'turn the computer on and have no clue how thing works' type.
Can you type out just the part of the link that starts with inde...? That seems to be the missing part of the link!

I would think Tony and/or roommates would notice if she started using a new blackberry part of the time.

because she was using the same number, according to her statements.

as nice as it was to give your friend a phone, i imagine you had different numbers.

i've switched sim cards back and forth between phones as well, with no warning to my wireless carrier.

just trying to help separate fact from fiction-not a casey fan.

CASEY: Through the AT&T Store, god, what road? It’s the bottom left side of town kind of near where the mall and stuff is.

Just a comment...
Looking at the conversation, I think it's odd that someone would say that a road is at "The bottom left side of town" unless they are picturing it on a map.

I thought the same thing. Who says left or right side of town?

This is what I don't understand about the cell phone conversation. Lee was asking her for the location of the cell phone so that he could access the numbers of Zenaida, Juliet, etc. from it. Why not just access her cell phone account which should have an up to the minute log of every number that called her in it and every number she called in it? If it was a "private number" LE could get a subpeona and warrant for the records. Is Lee that stupid? If not, then they were talking in code. JMHO

as much as i think it is a stretch, i do think she was purposely saying things in a way he wasn't quite 'getting', so was he...

i don't have the convo up in front of me, but he says something to effect of, 'if you lost the phone, i don't know why you wouldn't have lost the sim card, too...'

she starts explaining something (without much of a real answer) but what i thought it sounded like when lee said that to her was--

'if you were trying to hide/lose your phone, why didn't you lose the one with the sim card in it, dummy?'

JMO

hmmmmmmmmmmm could it have been "Car men trashed it" or "Car man trashed it" instead of Carmen?

Car Men or Car Man.......Auto detailers? Auto customizers???

JMO.

Car Man could also be a reference to GA, ex-used car salesman?

Can you tell me what you are referring to. I mean I get what you mean but where is this. An interview, transcirpt.?
Thanks,

Thanks,

it's in a speech reversal, you can find it by googling 'boys did this' or going to youtube.

personally, i don't they say car men or carmen, i think they say 'someone'.

but since speech reversal is not a proven phenomenon, it's up for speculation, of course.

Very HAPPY to see a thread about her "other cell ph" as I have felt for a long time that missing ph holds the key to the time Caylee "disappeared" There are soooo many things it could be , ex: prepaid, etc.. I (sorry just my opinion) think Caylee may be found in Jacksonville if she did in fact go there and the missing cell may be what she used for the trip so it couldn't be tracked.. HOPEFULLY, LE has determined / been able to track the missing cell # and get the info on it.. Sorry if already discussed, can't get on during work and don't have time to read the many, many post re: Caylee. I believe Casey had AT&T which does use sim cards but she may have gotten pay as u go.. (Work for major cell company so I know alittle bit, enough to be dangerous, lol!)

I could not remember anywhere that Casey spoke of a Carmen. The roomie Nate did on NG but then that was the first time I had heard of Nate also. Man they are coming out of the woodwork and from under the carpet.

The issue with the sim card, had she placed it in the "other ph" (which btw, I don't believe) it would be missing with the missing ph. If the #'s aren't saved to the ph, they are lost with the sim. Furthermore, why did she need another ph anyway??? Never caught the need for that?

Casey told LE, according to the 400 pg discovery IIRC, that she had the blackjack for work. To me, that signifies that it was a separate number and account. Possibly even another identity (maybe stolen) since I still believe she had a shady "job" she was getting dressed up for every day.
