Please help me think of ways the HG could be found. Please read through the most recent several pages of the Elizabeth sightings thread, as well as reading through this thread, and see if we can come up with ideas on what Logan could check in SA to try to find this guy.

There was a story done on this case early on that talked about "The Underground" and the reporter said something about how if a woman went to the Domestic Violence Shelter armed with a tape recorder and a baby, it would be a jackpot. IIRC it may have been one of the associated content stories which many of us either don't read or take with a grain of salt. However, I've always found that suggestion to have a lot of potential.

I would not suggest Logan or his family put someone in harms way to do this. But what if JJ Armes or the PI that Logan's family hired were to send someone in to do this???
I really think there's a good chance that someone besides EJ and the couple and maybe even the HG knows what happened with Gabe but EJ convinced them that Logan was a danger to Gabriel. That's the only rational explanation I can find for why this couple hasn't come forward unless their purpose for Gabriel was much different than just wanting a baby.

Question - do we know for sure that the witness is 100% positive that the guy seen with EJ was Hispanic? Could he have been European perhaps (like Romanian, Russian, etc)? Just asking....

Between Dec. 21 and 27, Johnson stayed at two motels in San Antonio, the HomeGate Studios and Suites and the Quality Inn and Suites, according to authorities. While there, she was seen with a Hispanic man at both motels and riding in a smaller SUV, according to a Maricopa County Superior Court document.

When Johnson left the Quality Inn and Suites, where she was last seen with the child, she left behind baby items including a portable baby bed and Gabriel’s hospital identification band from his birth.

After her arrest, Johnson told an FBI agent that she met an unknown couple at a park in San Antonio who wanted to adopt the baby on Dec. 25, according to a Maricopa County Superior Court document. Johnson then told the FBI agent she gave Gabriel to the couple in the parking lot of the Quality Inn and Suites the next day and signed an adoption form, according to the court document.

FBI agents in Florida were able to locate Johnson at a youth hostel by tracing her through a computer she was using there and at a nearby library to message Tammi Smith’s MySpace page on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30. Police confiscated a new cell phone, a GPS tracking device and a knife from Johnson, according to the court document.

Still trying to figure out why EJ kept the GPS on her after leaving everything else behind. Also, the photos of Gabriel in her camera. I don't get that, still. She obviously didn't make it easy to find the GF's car, so why keep something with a log of your travels on you? Doesn't make sense. She may as well driven GF's car to FL...why leave that in SA as well as all Gabe's stuff?

Second, I have been thinking about this since I first heard about HG, and I don't know if I've posted it before. But, if you wanted to change your name, wouldn't it be easy to just get married? I don't know how she could have found someone to do this though. Would it be at least worth a trip to local churches (priest's or pastor's)/JOP to put up flier's and ask questions? There would be a record at the DMV for a name change wouldn't there?

SMITH: She told me that she was only in one hotel. And I told her that there is witnesses that she had two hotels and she swears that that wasn`t true and, of course, I didn`t believe her. You know? Finally, I have an idea about the couple EJ gave Gabriel to in San Antonio. If they were not from there, though TS said EJ said they were, and they actually flew into SA to get the baby, it makes sense that they would leave with nothing more than a carryon with baby items, right? So they would have left everything else behind, and not wanting to get caught/raise suspicion, they also had to take out his hospital bracelet. If the bag was searched at an airport (which mine always are if I have bottles made), then a hospital band of an infant with a different name than yours would raise suspicion and possibly get you caught.

I'm not even sure this couple had a carseat there. Seems they could have gone (taxi, EJ, or HG) right to the airport. EJ says the carseat was tan, TS's carseat is tan...EJ could have simply been using her experience with TayJay to make up a new story to distract everyone.

I totally agree! It's bothered me, too, considering how TS kept saying in interviews that she had only known EJ for 8 days. So why keep in contact with someone you've known less than 2 weeks when you are on the run, trying not to be caught? And why give her SA cell phone number to TS if she wasn't part of the plot? And why would EJ allow TS to fill out the response to the court documents, and allow her to put CC's name on it as potential father? Doesn't make sense, unless this has been in the works since the first meeting....IMHO :waitasec:

I guess I see that EJ thought of TS as a friend. TS helped EJ with her plan, at least while in AZ. EJ trusted her to some extent. So, I think she kept talking to TS to "be nice" to her friend, even if she betrayed her by adopting Gabe out to someone else. EJ also knew that TS would probably hear about what EJ herself told LM about killing Gabriel, and she wanted to assure "her friend" that it was untrue. TS had suggested somewhere, that she was offering a lawyer for EJ. So, EJ couldn't cut ties with TS yet...not until she left the country, as her stay at the international hostel suggests she was planning on doing.

I also would like to know what made them think they were a couple. Was it because they were holding hands or showing some sort of affection or was it just because they were close in age and were walking around together at a hotel? I think if I saw a woman in her 20's walking with a man in his 20's, possible leaving a hotel room, I would think they were a couple but maybe they weren't.

There HAS to be surveillance at the hotel(s). I guarantee they have at least the vehicle on tape. I just wish they would share so we had more to go off. Maybe since they aren't, though, it could mean they have a good idea who this person is and are looking for him. IMO, that would be the only reason for them to keep quiet.

I was just thinking that maybe the HG is someone Elizabeth went to school with in Boston??? Just an idea. All the descriptions of him make him sound like he's in his early 20's (EJ is 23).

I just had a thought - this might be a big task, but is it possible to see year books from the schools EJ attended, at least her Junior and Senior Year? There might be group pictures she was in or even just other classmates. Just a thought.
