The red rose - revisited

Those areas have been searched. The area is so thick with undergrowth you cannot see across or under the Palmettos some are 30-40 feet wide and we had to use marchates to cut our way in most of the area. I'm not kidding you could not see a foot in front of you most of the time. We searched arm to arm and it was so hard to get into and around the palmettos and all the tarzan vines. You really have had to be there to understand the area it's awful! We have finally had some cold weather the last few days, it actually got down to freezing last night where I live 54 miles north of the mobile home. We are supposed to have freezing weather for the next week so hopefully the undergrowth will start to die out soon. But then it will warm up and start growing again. To tell you what the weather is like I wore knee length shorts Christmas day.

When you look at the map CPapa put up for me look at how thick the green areas are and multiply that by a thousand and you will have an idea how thick it is on the ground. Searching is almost impossible.

Also you said "That area in yellow that was supposedly searched" should read "That area that was definitely searched" no suppose about it. Searched many times.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I wonder how long it had been since the area had been searched before the one after the rose was found.

Every INCH was search with LE, private searchers....over and over and over and over......and YES a RABBIT was seen in that area that matched a dream posted just like the ROSE.

Thanks for tying that in for me. I almost went out on a rabbit trail.

(Okay, don't snicker...look what the time was when I wrote this).

GrannyL,

Please don't think I am stupid or anything, but I have seen those kinds of areas, I live on the West Coast, and if it is that hard for a person to get into to search, how would a person get into the area to carry a body into it? I don't understand why they search that far into those areas. Even Caylee was put on the edge of the road, just feet from the curb and the bag and skull were still there. I understand that the animals then dragged most of the bones into the deeper part of the woods, but if there is no sign of a body, a few feet in, why go into it deeper?

Thanks,
Bern :)

That's a good question, Titan. I wonder if anyone knows the answer to that question? I just can't help but to think about the search for Caylee. It seems like the conditions were about the same as far as searching and people had searched in that area also and did not find her but yet that's where she was found and had been there all along. so what am I missing? If the terrain was as bad as Granny says (thanks G for the info), could it be possible that they just were unable to find Haleigh? Someone please help me to understand.

It seems that Ron found the rose very easy though if Misty knew it was there, I'm convinced Ron did too. It didn't grow there. How long did they "know" or did they put it there?

Does anyone remember in the Caylee case a few make shift memorials were found? In a couple of instances, I remember rumors that some of the materials used in the memorials (J Blanchard Park, maybe?) were identical to materials found in the Anthony home. Many people were convinced Caylee was close to this memorial in J Blanchard Park. Being a Florida resident, it is possible Misty heard snippets from Caylee's case and people begging for the area to be thoroughly searched.

So, during one of the searches, maybe Misty overhears somebody saying, "We found a red plastic rose and I thought we might have something."

In the most innocent explanation, Misty overheard something about a rose and her gut feeling is telling people to re-search the area. In another explanation, Misty knows where Haleigh is and wants her to be found and have a proper burial. In the most sinister explanation, Misty is re-directing LE away from the body for her personal gain.

Whether she is lying or not remains to be determined.

My guess would be that THEY put it there.

I've wondered this too. If someone had tried to conceal a body in the undervrush, would their arms be scratched to holy heck. And wouldn't LE notice that?

And my other stupide question...Do the alligators eat dead bodies or do they only eat live bodies?

Welcome Kari. If Misty overheard something about a rose I don't think she would've known exactly where to find it. They didn't go searching for the rose until after Misty told them to. In my heart, Misty wanted them to find Haleigh and they didn't.

Hey Kari. If someone tried to conceal a body in the underbrush I would imagine that their arms would be scratched. BUT IMO LE wouldn't notice it if they were told the scratches came from "punching the door". jmo

Alligators 'snap' their prey, then they submerge their catch for awhile under water until the meat is ...... well. This is the typical, not the absolute.

The area Caylee was found was NOT searched due to being covered in water. The area around where she was found and not under water was searched. Had it not been for the flooding the area she was found would have been searched in the beginning. Her not being found had nothing to do with the searches and how they were conducted it was because you could not get in the area due to the water.

Also I'd like to note I was involved in both searches and must say the undergrowth is much worse in Satsuma and it was terrible in Orlando.

Sniped
and if it is that hard for a person to get into to search, how would a person get into the area to carry a body into it? Oh so true! The thing is you have to search the entire area just to be sure someone was not able to get into the rough areas especially like the area of the rose.

I don't understand why they search that far into those areas. Sometimes we are told to only go maybe 75 feet deep into the woods because it is obvious no one could get even that deep.

Even Caylee was put on the edge of the road, just feet from the curb and the bag and skull were still there. Most bodies are found close to the road but you have the occasional one that is deeper

I understand that the animals then dragged most of the bones into the deeper part of the woods, but if there is no sign of a body, a few feet in, why go into it deeper? Because you may find those bones the animals drugged into the woods. All it takes is one human bone found and you know someone was discarded in the area.,

I wonder if anyone knows the answer to that question? I don't know but do know different people have searched that area off and on since Haleigh disappeared.

I just can't help but to think about the search for Caylee. It seems like the conditions were about the same as far as searching and people had searched in that area also and did not find her but yet that's where she was found and had been there all along. so what am I missing? First the area Caylee was found was underwater and no one searched the exact area she was found because it was impossible without doing great damage to any evidence that might be found and to Caylee. They lost one new four wheeler because of the water in that area. Thank goodness they didn't or they may not have had enough evidence to charge Casey! Tim Miller has explained that many, many times the reason the flooded area was not searched. The condition were not the same, while there is unbelievable undergrowth in Orlando it is much worst in Satsuma

If the terrain was as bad as Granny says (thanks G for the info), could it be possible that they just were unable to find Haleigh? Anything is possible but they would have sure had to go deep under the thick palmettos to hide her and they would have been all scratched up. I had all kinds of cuts and scratches and blood running down my arms. I don't believe she is in that area personally because of all the searches. But like I said before I will gladly go back to search if TM ask me to. No problem! Someone please help me to understand. I hope this has helped you understand. Trust me that area has been very well searched.

It would be much different from punching a door. You would have splinters up and down your arms in the scratches. Would not been limited to one hand. Even with sleeves you get cut up. The palettos have thorns up and down the fawns, then you have regular vines with stickers. I wear military cargo pants with the pockets down the legs and I still had scratches and thorns in my legs. Also had scratches on my face. He would have had more trauma to his skin if he had been in those woods. Also I don't think he would have stopped and thought "oh gee I need to cover myself well so I don't get any cuts or scratches". Just would not have happened that way, would have had to much on his mind at that point to even remotely think about cuts and scrathes. I think she was taken somewhere else by who I don't know but wish I did!.JMO

I don't know, but all you have to do is look at their body mechanics to see that it would take more than one bite to swallow a child and too much dexterity to get every bit of the remainder in. (I think. I dunno.)

Seems like even when a poodle is eaten by a gator, the collar turns up outside of the gator's belly.

It's a very good question, Kari.

Please forgive my bad memory re: everybody's personal details, but are you the w/s member who is part of TES?

Seemed like I long ago read that someone on here was TM's wife or something?
