WFTV says it won’t retract report that the defense team called ‘this fabrication’

Casey Anthony's defense team wants a retraction from WFTV-Channel 9.

The station says no way.

Jose Baez's spokeswoman said WFTV's Kathi Belich was wrong when she reported this week that Baez "faxed copies of his motion for a change of venue to some reporters before he ever filed it with the
court."

Baez spokeswoman Marti Mackenzie fired off an e-mail to the station: "Please retract this fabrication that you reported.
Let us know when you plan to retract your report."

"We're not going to retract it," WFTV news director Bob Jordan told me. "Faxed or handed. Makes no difference how it was transmitted. What matters is that it was transmitted to reporters."

A perfect example of puffery is TM's claim that the body was placed there after KC was in jail!

I am not sure a witness list is evidence.

As far as Caylee being placed at the dump site after Kc was in jail, I think they have already provided substantial evidence with witnesses that searched the area. Also with pointing the finger at Rk and his inconsistent statements. That may not be substantial enough for some, but it may qualify enough for the Judge. Anything else may fall under Attorney Client privledge.

I think only part of Dc interview was sealed. It may be something simple as an explanation of his Daughters sickness and the Judge agreed it had nothing to do with the case. I don't think Dc has anything new to say, but that is my opinion.

I just feel that MM may have been tired of all of it because there is nothing really new and substantial to talk about. Just speculation on my part. I am sure these spokes people come and go on a regular basis. Sometimes the President changes press secretaries a couple times a term.

I myself was very disapointed with todays doc dump. Didn't really see anything new. I was hoping to see RK's time card and route log. The only thing new that I saw today is that Wesh reported that sources close to the investigation now believe that the duct tape is the murder weapon. Heck thats old...IMO

PS- And the stained trunk liner...is that old? I never saw Caylee's stained car seat either. Didn't that just make your heart sink?

So there it is folks......
public access to area where remains were found = SODDI.

But really, How long can someone stay in that position? what is normal? If discovery is done being exchanged, what really is there to talk about other than questionable motions which have nothing to do with premeditated murder.

How is the discovery done being exchanged? The defense has not handed anything over to the state yet. There is no witness list yet........the state must have a witness list from the defense in order to depose those people in order to prepare for trial. There is no proof that Caylee was placed in that area while Casey was in jail........this proof will have to be checked out by the state before trial. There is no expert list handed over.......this list also needs to be given to the state before trial. The defense has been ordered to give these things to the state already however the defense has failed to do so. We also have the state wanting to talk to the judge about new information and/or new evidence........information and/or evidence the defense has not yet seen.

There is no reason for a PR person to quit, resign, walk away before a trial even begins. A PR person is needed to handle interview requests, questions, etc. It is very evident that a PR is still needed for this case since a member of the college AL teaches at has now taken over that role. IF the former PR person felt that their job was done, nothing more they could do, then the defense would not have hired a new one. It does seem however that 1 of 2 things is going on right now. 1. The PR person that just quit has decided that they can no longer be a part of this spectacle and has a strong conviction against covering for a guilty person. or 2. AL has decided that the best person for the PR job is someone that she trusts completely and that she knows will have no issue with telling lies to the public to cover for their guilty client. Of course those two reasons are just my opinion but saying that the PR person quit due to nothing to do doesn't make much sense.

PR persons in any field EXIST to manage the media spin. They get their kicks (bless their hearts) when the going gets tough. Of course when the going gets RILLY RILLY tough, and the opposition is all lined up and they all seem to have their shoelaces tied at least... and then you look at your side, and they are still struggling with buttoning down how to write a motion and how to eke even one real tear of grief out of the client's persistently dry eyes....
