Despite finding this case very interesting and being thankful for the massive and compelling incriminating evidence
against JA, I’m finding it difficult to justify the time and, no doubt, hefty expense associated with this trial
and am increasingly wondering why a plea agreement couldn’t have been reached.
? LWOP + some decent art supplies ?
I realize JA has the right to a trial but really?!?
The only thing JA didn’t provide was a video tape of the murder
– maybe the camera just needed one more kick or drop?

Sometimes it isnt about the money. It is about the brutality of the case and whoever does it whether man or woman they deserve death. If this case had a male defendant and a female victim it would be a death penalty case.
Plus very rarely will psychopaths agree to admit accountability. They truly feel they can fool everyone with their lies. Joesph Duncan's case was a slam dunk...including a running video of him continuously torturing and raping Dylan and Shasta and finally murdering Dylan. He refused to plea in Dylan's case. Good........they gave him death.
Also Juan Martinez is known not to plea cases this heinous and bargain with the devil.
They do not have death penalty cases often but when they do the state fully believes it is warranted, imo.
