Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh? #4

IMO, misty at some point fell asleep on that couch. RC said She was asleep in his bed several times. I think he was lying about that. I have caught and suspected many lies from rc. Back to square one...if had nothing to do with the crime, why in the world is he covering for misty?

I can think of two reasons.

1. He fears losing jr due to his lack of judgement in getting involved with misty.
2. Misty may have told him Haleigh died accidently. He has to cover to save himself. He does not want to be held responsible, she was underage..he knew about the drugs she consumed and it would all come down to him and negligence.

So Bowling admits that "other" people aren't giving them (LE) the whole truth - "other", I assume means other than Misty and last I knew when people aren't giving you the whole truth - that means they're lying. So why hasn't LE applied some serious pressure to those people they suspect are lying to them (lYING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT)??? Hmmm, maybe because they're lawyered up...

Thanks for posting the links suspicious1. I have to admit, at this point, nearly a year now since HaLeigh disappeared, if this particular comment made by Bowlings; "All of the reasons people would be fearful about cooperating with police are all roadblocks here." is an indication that he actually had it all wrong from the get-go - That the real reason certain people weren't/aren't being cooperative with the police actually had/has very little, if anything, to do with their fear of extra-curricular (illegal) activities being exposed but has everything to do with them not wanting their participation & involvement in the death and disposal of a child to be found out - Perhaps giving certain family members the benefit of the doubt prevented LE from seeing the REAL ROADBLOCK...JMHO -

I totally agree..TN and GGMS comes to mind..Especially GGMS.. Perhaps they don't want to believe anyone as old as she is would LIE and attempt to hinder an investigation of her own great grandchild......JMO

Very odd statement of GGS. Almost sounds like she was at GGS' house and disappeared there so she headed for the mobile home to look. (we noticed she was missing from my house so headed to MH to look and got there in 10 min.) Just a thought

I totally agree..TN and GGMS comes to mind..Especially GGMS.. Perhaps they don't want to believe anyone as old as she is would LIE and attempt to hinder an investigation of her own great grandchild......JMO

I'm in no way trying to deminish how difficult it must be for LE, in missing child cases, to determine whether a family member is truly the victim or the actual perpertrator of the crime but (big "but" here) when family member's stories are so full of holes that they can't hold a drop of water with no active effort on their part to provide clarification to LE to eliminate themselves and this goes on month after month...IMO they're suspects NOT victims and should be treated as such. I'm sorry but IMO, when I see GGS's, I see a woman who can easily lie without conviction and has been doing so a very long time - I sure don't see a soft & gentle grandmotherly type. JMHO -

Exactly...compare Sykes to Cindy Anthony's mother...there is no comparison-Cindy's mother is an honest person and told the detectives the truth about her granddaughter and daughter...Sykes not so much. I hate judging people for I have never been in this situation but I'm with you-too many holes in the stories for it to be the truth.

GGS: They questioned Jr. and I asked them about it. Course they couldn't tell me anything other than he's a little child and he was questioned and the story went from one thing to another to another.

Last part;
GGS:When we ask him he'll tell you one thing and then you ask him again a different way, he'll tell you something else, you know - he's just a little child. (tape cut out)

I'm with you that there are too many tales going on here. But I think there are more than these four who have knowledge or were involved in what happened that evening. Their lips are sealed, I believe, because they know enough that going to LE with their story would get them in trouble too. I don't see any of these characters being the kind of people who would want to deal with the cops on a voluntary basis. I think because of their individual backgrounds, they stay as far away from LE as they can.
To me what is needed is for LE to find the weak link and offer that person a plea deal so that he or she would tell the truth and nothing but the truth about the previous days and the night Haleigh disappeared. jmo

I totally agree, but also suspect a couple of those involved may not know ALL the details in order for LE to offer them a plea deal...

I suspect Tommy C and cousin Jo were called upon to clean out the trailer before the 911 call was made and LE arrived on the scene, and they may very well have some knowledge of what occurred but were not privy to how everything was handled that night or where Haleigh was taken........

To be perfectly honest, IMHO, the ONLY two people that have proven they may even have a backbone or a smiggin of a conscience has been Tommy C and Lisa C...
I'm not saying either of them have too much of either...But maybe just a little....But that is just my opinion.. JMO

Today there was an episode of the TV show FBI Files on the Discovery Channel. It was titled "Fatal Friendship." Here is a description from the Investigation Discovery - TV Listings:

The only part that I found relevant to the Haleigh case was something the female FBI agent stated. [paraphrased by me]

We didn't have a body so we knew we had to have a confession (from the perp to make an arrest.)

I have no idea if this is indeed the case re: whoever-did-what to Haleigh, but it really jumped out at me. [Believe it or not, they even had a murky water search that in the dramatization reminded me very much of the L Pond search.]

Somewhat O/T... BBM..Not necessarily so... An ex- LE officer in my neck of the woods was just found guilty of murdering his wife and a body has never been found ..He didn't confess to the crime either, but did brag that he knew how to get rid of a body so no one would ever be able to find it...Kinda like Ron C telling Cobra about putting a body in gator infested waters and no one would ever be able to find it...JMO

I am not trying to go majorly off topic or derail the thread but the case I am linking to is a good one about conviction w/out a body, charges against relatives of the convicted for evidence tampering and obstruction of justice.
The convicted's half-brother and father went to trial on the charges and were found guilty.
IF anyone is covering up for whatever happened to Haleigh I hope they think long and hard about the consequences if they are ever exposed.

In light of the latest news, I hope that some of our recently quiet (but always excellent) sleuths will post their current theories which may or may not have changed.

I for one am still relatively hung up on the one I acquired in May.

Note - ALL JUST MY THEORY and OPINION, NO FACTS:

It was not an abduction (stranger or family). Something happened to dear little Haleigh in February that cost her her life.

Time range is from whenever the last time she was seen in school up to the time it was reported to LE that she was missing. imo, the incident occurred before Ron showed up at werk on 2/9.

I do not know whether her death was caused by accident, or by overwhelming and misplaced rage, or was intentional.

The 911 calls on 2/10 were part of the cover-up of whatever did happen to Haleigh. The resulting media frenzy necessitated many of the stories told by paternal family to keep up the charade.

I have no explanation for AH, KP, W"C"S' involvement and actions.

I cannot fathom why Teresa and Annette did not go after Misty and Ron from the first day because I believe they knew before LE did that Haleigh had been killed.
