Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh ? #6

Red herring or not,,,something horrible has happened to little Haleigh.....she didnt walk away from that trailer....I hope not, but knowing how much drugs play a role in these peoples lives,,I think when we find out what really happened ,,,we all will be sickened...moreso, than we are now,,not knowing...

Do we know if anyone went to bed that night at the trailer...I don't think anyone slept in those beds that night.

Do we even know if H. was o.k. when R. left for work?
We can only guess why the 20-90 phone calls were made that same evening.

I honestly feel I know nothing for fact except H. did get off the school bus that day, after that,
one can only guess who picked her up from the bus and what followed is anyone's guess....imo

Hi there LT, Where did you hear that Ron C took Joe Overstreet out in a boat and threw animals to gators? This is a rumor in my opinion. I can understand where you might have been lead to believe this though as getting information in this case is much like the old time version of the game telephone, in my opinion.

Art Harris originally posted a story that where he said that Ronald Cummings pointed out a spot on the St Johns River where he and Joe liked to fish, maybe have a tall cool one ( those are Mr. Harris's words not mine) and talk about Alligators and their appetite. I never read any report about Joe and RC throwing animals to alligators. I think the original story has been embellished upon, but you judge for yourself here.

Further on in the article you will notice ( if you care to read further on in the article ) that Art mentions he first heard about Joe Overstreet having a big question mark over his head by LYNDSY, CHELSEA and LISA C. I personally wondered if this wasn't where Misty first got her ideas about Joe O as well. Let's face it, she already didn't trust him, so if all the females in her family questioned where he was that night .....why shouldn't she? This article came out back in the second week of September 2009, but Art states he heard about the question mark over Joe's head....months before.

You are 100% correct,,,,we can only speculate with what little has been given to us...However, living almost 60years has given some of us a different twist in what may or may not be the truth....For example,,the morning of the tv broadcast of Haleigh "missing',,it appeared to me that both Ronald and his mother were acting like they trully were in mourning,,(as in the death of a child) ,as opposed to worry for a missing child...of course other things like RC protecting Misty, marrying her then warning her about DB, tatoos,,has his truck painted with "only God can judge me",,,all these things to me add up to alot more thn a child gone missing...., getting to know, from experiences from just life itself, proves to me the Cummings and the Croslins are hiding alot of stuff.

I don't have the link handy right now but I'm pretty sure that he said, "I would give my life for my child's life back"

If he had just said that he'd give his life for his child back, or he'd give his life for his child's life I wouldn't have thought about it twice, both seem like a natural thing for a concerned parent to say. But the back bit definitely suggests to me that he knew or strongly believed that his child was dead already. We have spent a lot of time making excuses for these people's grammar whenever there are slips but I don't think this is a grammar issue. It is what it is and it suggests he knows or think he knows more than he's telling. He knows the difference between wanting his child back alive and wanting his child's life back.

Of course it doesn't necessarily mean that he killed her, there are other options.

EDIT: just saw that Papa had the link upthread.

isnt it strange,,,another person, who is accused of killing their daughter was just quoted saying the same thing.."I would give (whatever) to have the life of my child back"...from the letters of Casey A, to an inmate in prison.

I think it was more of a traumatic event for a 5 year old.

Detective Gary Bowling stated: (4:37 minute mark) - No, we have had a lot of questions about the forced entry into the residence. The back door was ajar. There is a screen door and a back door, the screen door was propped open and the back door was blowing in the breeze so to speak. The natural position of the back door is to fall to about 6” closed and that’s how the door was found. So. we don’t know if the door was locked, you know we’ve had, it is difficult you know, the girlfriend it’s quite a traumatic event, so we’re trying to understand as best we can if the door was locked or unlocked but the one thing is for sure is the door wasn’t kicked open, forced open, pried open, it was very open.

IA, I don't think he feels that way now either. He gave this briefing shortly after HaLeigh disappeared. When he was asked where Misty was, he said she was in the care of her family. Bear in mind however Misty Croslin said in jail she is considered to be a person with special needs.

IIRC, Misty and TN said Joe came to FL to visit his family two weeks before Haleigh vanished. Since RC had only known Misty 5 or 6 months at the time, it's unlikely he had known Cousin Joe previously.

IMO, this story is another attempt to misdirect with a blatant embellishment of the "let's blame it on Joe" storyline being pushed by this bunch from the beginning.

Blame it on Joe and make it his problem for awhile. "I didn't do it, Mom, it was Michael!" (personal experience, that one ) Then, in childish thinking, they believe LE will go pick on Joe and leave them alone for awhile.

Teresa said that Ron and Misty had talked all night Sunday night. When I first read that I assumed that the two had been together for this "talk", but now I realize that she said "talked" all night, Sunday night. It could mean
talking on the phone. I can't find anything that actually states that Misty was with Ron while "talking". Also according to Teresa, on Monday when she offered to pay Misty to babysit, Misty said she would, if Ron agreed. That makes me think that the "talking" had not led to "making up". That things were still on the "out" with them. Maybe Ron had made it clear on the phone that they were through? Who knows, but Misty somehow had a misgiving that all would be good about her babysitting the children. JMO.

Could someone please post the article or video where TN said she asked Misty to babysit Monday night and offered to pay her? I heard her say they were up all night talking and Misty said she went with Ron and HaLeigh Monday morning. TIA.

IIRC Misty, TN and some of the Cummings were attempting to throw Jo under the bus long before Chelsy ever talked to the media about the scratch and the van...JMO

CP, There are videos out there somewhere from way back in Feb 2009 of TN and CC talking about him saying he didn't wear any sign that stated he wasn't a responsible person to have around young children..
