*Final Jury Selection set to begin (@ 9am ET) - TN – Evelyn Mae Boswell (15 mos. DOB 11/21/18) (last seen Dec. 10 or 11, 2019 by babysitter, Blountville, Sullivan County, reported missing Feb. 18, 2020 by State of Tenn. Dept. Child Services; Evelyn’s remains were found on Mar. 6, 2020 at a family member’s property at the 500 block of Muddy Creek Road in Sullivan County; officially id’d Mar. 11, 2020). *Megan “Maggie” Boswell (18/now 23) aka Maggie Wood aka Megan Nicole Kys “mother” arrested & originally charged (2/25/20) with 1 count of false reporting. Bond set at $25K. Bond increased (3/9/20) to $150K. [see below for re-charges].
Indicted (5/18/20) & originally charged (5/28/20) with 11 counts of false reporting. Plead not guilty. Bond stays set at $150K. [see below re re-charges]. Sullivan County
Re-Charged & indicted (8/19/20) & arraigned (8/28/20) with 2 counts of 1st degree felony murder, 2 counts of aggravated child abuse & neglect, 1 count of tampering with evidence, 12 counts of false reporting, 1 count of abuse of a corpse & 1 count of failure to report a death suspicious, unusual, or unnatural circumstances. Plead not guilty. $1M bond. Bond reduction denied (12/3/21).
*Charged & arraigned (6/20/24) with 1 count of 1st degree felony murder-premeditated/intentional. Plead not guilty. DA is seeking a life sentence without parole. Sullivan County

11/22/24 Update: Jury questionnaires were finalized. 12/4/24 is when the first panel of potential jurors is scheduled to be brought in. Another panel is scheduled for 12/9/24. There are about 1,200 total potential jurors.
12/4/24 Update: No info on 12/4/24 first panel of potential jurors. Another panel is scheduled on 12/9/24. Next final jury selection on 12/16/24 @ 9am.

Finally! So happy to see that sweet little Evelyn is on her way towards receiving justice. She was just an innocent, adorable, toddler that this egg donor didn't want to be saddled with IMO.

What a nightmare bio mom she turned out to be. All of the lies she told to LE and the people she tried (and did) throw under the bus in order to save herself is sickening. I hope they give her the maximum sentence allowed. She reminds me of Susan Smith. :mad:

nope - that did not work either - is this an actual article? They original HAD 1200 potential juries back in December - so this is supposed to be a Final jury selection on 2/3. Just wondering how many they got out of the original 1200??

In part:

Megan Boswell's defense tried to get the judge to sever the false reporting charges from the murder and abuse charges. The state argued the circumstances behind the multipole false reporting charges were relevant to the murder investigation to show Megan's state of mind and present a motive.

Judge Jim Goodwin denied the defense's request to sever the charges. The defense also argued for a change of venue due to the case's notoriety, which was also denied.

Approximately 1,200 potential jurors are expected to be called.

"When you have such a polarizing case where folks have incredibly strong feelings, it's going to be very tough for the criminally accused to get a fair trial," Jones said.

12/16/24 Update: The jury selection for Boswell was postponed on Monday. The jury selection process had initially been set to begin on Monday after the questionnaires for potential jurors were finalized in late November. However, the selection was delayed until 2/3/25 when trial begins @ 8:30am.

After all these years and several delays, Boswell will finally stand trial. She's been behind bars ever since her arrest in 2020. Boswell's trial for the murder of 15-month old Evelyn Boswell begins Monday. It's expected to last several weeks.

Seems to me it should be more than a misdemeanor.
Anyway, I thought the trial itself was taking place today, and tuned into Court TV earlier. They are going to talk about the trial after the commercials, I do hope they cover it, getting pretty tired of Sarah Boone!! Followed this case since the beginning. Such a precious little angel.
