Where can we stream this? Jury selection was supposed to start at 930 est. Is the jury selection being streamed, or will it start when they are ready for opening statements?

Praying for justice for sweet Evelyn. <3

From your links, about 17 of the first 40 people were taken to a separate room as potential jurors.

Once chosen the jury will be housed at a hotel with no cell phones and only limited tv viewing for the duration.

Wow, I’m retired and would be fine serving on the jury but man, imagine the inconvenience to working people and parents responsible for small children.

Is jury selection being live streamed?

Since the privacy of jurors is to be maintained at all times -- I'm sure this would be viewed as borrowing trouble! Reporters are known to attend and report on how selection is going and track the count-- total interviewed, dismissed, how many moved to round two, etc., MOO

17 picked on first day of jury selection for Megan Boswell trial

2/3/25

The 17-part questionnaires asked potential jurors about their familiarity with prosecutors, Boswell’s attorney Gene Scott and both Boswell and her deceased daughter Evelyn.

Forty potential jurors were screened on Monday, and 17 were picked. Of those, 10 were women and seven were men. Numerous people were excused based on their answers, especially those who revealed they were extremely familiar with the case.

During the screenings, potential jurors were asked about their recent news consumption and if they had any preconceived beliefs about Boswell and the case. Several also seemed confused by the concept of the burden of proof that is on the state in order for Boswell to be convicted.

[..]

Once a jury is finalized, the trial will begin the next day with opening statements.

News Channel 11 will provide daily coverage and updates of the trial. After the jury is selected, each day of the trial will be live-streamed on WJHL.com.

It’s about time! It’s been nearly 5 years but at least she’s been locked up.

The part about familiarity with Evelyn just makes me so sad. Very few people had the opportunity to become familiar with little Evelyn, who only got to live a mere 15 months. And some of the few that got to know her turned the other way as she was murdered, then discarded in a shed.

Evelyn never had a chance with that clan.

  • One prospective juror wrote on the questionnaire that Boswell was “probably guilty.” He was excused.
  • Juror No. 3, a white female with an engineering background, acknowledged she had followed news reports about the case but said she could remain objective. The defense moved to strike but the judge denied the request.
  • Juror No. 12 stated he believed Boswell was guilty and did not think his opinion could be changed.
  • Juror No. 39, who learned of the case through SM, admitted she had formed an opinion and was excused.
  • Juror No. 7 stated she believed Evelyn was murdered and that she would require proof from the defendant to believe otherwise.
  • One juror had signed a petition in favor of Evelyn’s Law and said Boswell was “definitely guilty” on her questionnaire. She said her opinion had not changed since December.
  • Juror No. 29 said he couldn’t set his opinion aside. “She shouldn’t have done it. It’s atrocious.” He was excused.

The case of missing little Evelyn will always be one I remember because I was so very deceived by the defendant, her mother Megan!

Baby Evelyn had not been seen by family since end of December 2019, and Megan's father reported his granddaughter missing to TBI on Feb 18, 2020.

Megan's story was she believed Evelyn was safe and allowed somebody she trusted to watch her daughter while she worked but would not name this person.

As days passed, Megan embellished the story that the person caring for Evelyn had not been eager to return little Evelyn to Megan because Megan was pregnant and thought the 15 month old was too much for Megan both when working and pregnant. (Liar, liar, pants on fire)...

I'm not sure if it was Megan or her father who soon revealed the name of the alleged caretaker as Angela Boswell (Megan's mother and ex-wife of her father). I totally bought the drama Megan was pushing about her mother being upset with twice pregnant teen Megan and taking Evelyn from her!

Nonetheless, Angela Boswell and her partner were soon after arrested in NC for possession of stolen property and did not have baby Evelyn! They were never caring for the missing toddler!

Ultimately, the stolen property Angela was charged being in possession of was the vehicle she was driving (2007 BMW) gifted to her from Megan!

About this time, we learned that Meagan had a new boyfriend she was living with.

And the same old story -- Mommy wanted the boyfriend more than she wanted her child.

ETA: Before MB's arrest, Megan told reporters she wanted to take a lie detector test but was prohibited due to being pregnant. I recall looking this up and TBI's policy was no restriction first trimester and 2nd trimester required doctors approval. Obviously, MB was never pregnant. More lies. MOO

She also said that Evelyn's father had her. But he was in the service, in another state, living in a barracks.

Oh those pictures of that sweet angel baby. I've never gotten them out of my mind, but seeing them again just now reminds me of what kind of monster could harm a child so precious and innocent.

It's been long enough, 5 years, Justice delayed is Justice denied. Evelyn deserves Justice and MB needs to answer for her atrocious actions. MB came across to me from Day 1 as fake and phony, something just did not sit well with me and the way she was being so evasive and cold. IMO

Yes, that made be so angry. Her father probably only got to hold her a couple of times, he was in the Army. So awful.
