Coming out of lurkdom to ask a question.....

How many people live in Hollys town? I seem to recall its a small town is that right?

Reason for my question is that LE seems to think its a local.

Years ago there was a murder & rape I believe of a woman here in Australia on an island. All of the men that were on the island volunteered their DNA to rule them out as suspects. The killer was found.

Is there a possibility that all the men (within the age bracket etc of the suspect) in & around Hollys town could at least give an alibi & DNA just in case Hollys body is found?

Apologies is this is a stupid question :blushing:

No its not a stupid question... but probably US laws would prohibit such sampling. I suppose LE could ask for voluntary DNA samples, but if someone chose not to submit, there is nothing LE could do. In the US you have to have cause to do such things. Even searching for Holly was hampered by private property in the area where the owners would not grant permission for people to search.

The population of that area isnt great something like 2500-3000? I think.

JVM is not an interviewer. Interviewers do more than scream at the guests before stopping for 3 seconds to draw a decent breath before yacking again. I have seen this disrespectful behavior again and again....she will ask a question and proceed to talk right over the answer.

For those who think that Clint is "slow" or can't commute a single meaningful sentence, how do you suggest that he was able to pull off this unsolved crime in such a narrow window of time?

No, Clint didn't do this folks. I would (almost) pay to have a reputable agent come in here and give us a certifiable profile on the unsub.

  • #843
I don't think Clint did it either. I feel like people suspect him because the story is weird, but, for me, I want to know what that says about the man he saw rather than making me doubt Clint.

For example, what type of abductor spends a LONG time abducting someone? What type of wound would make the blood pattern that they saw? What were they talking about all that time? They apparently spoke longer than "hey, I am going to abduct you let's go." Any reports at all of anyone in the entire city showing Holly or her family malice or unwarranted attention?

It is just so bizarre to have a witnessed abduction, on foot no less, and yet here we are 4+ months later and seemingly no closer to knowing what happened, where Holly is, who the man was, etc...I can't remember a case like this one, ever.

  • #845
The only reason I can see the perp taking his time is he felt confident nobody else was home. Even then, its strange to be so lethargic if your initial goal was to abduct.

I agree. That's why I wonder if that was the original intention. Maybe it was to assault her at the house and her brother being home caused a change of plans. jmo

Considering the early hour of the morning this happened and the POI came just as she was getting ready to leave Im wondering if they have checked all the people that have the same class as holly maybe its a guy that was in the same class and had a thing for her and after time she was getting the creeps thinking he might be a stalkerish kinda guy that would exsplain how he caught her at a perfect moment and why she was so startled . I wonder if holly had a facebook page i would like to know if thier is a way to see if someone sent a friend request and she denied him . or reported him or blocked him.

If it was someone who has the same class as Holly, he'd be planning to miss his test that day, too. It seems like he could have picked a better day.

She does have a FB page. I'm sure LE can get into it one way or another. Some things have been changed since she went missing, so someone has access to it. I read somewhere that it may be here mom, but even if that's not true LE can usually get into them the same way they subpoena records from phone companies.

Your stalker theory is a good one, though, and I've been thinking of something similar, myself. I don't believe Clint is responsible for whatever happened, but I do think there's something behind the strange story. I don't think this was the case here, since Karen says she talks to Drew every day, and by all accounts they were on good terms, but CB saying he thought the man was DS, then calling his mom, could paint a scenario where DS wasn't supposed to be around Holly. I don't think this is the case, but it would explain some of the statements that seem to contradict each other, like why he called his mom if he thought it was Drew.

What you brought up, though, makes sense. If she had someone else who wasn't supposed to be around her, that might have been why Clint called his mom. Maybe he did initially think it was Drew. Maybe it was someone of similar stature, but he realized after a while that it wasn't Drew, and he called his mom because Holly had a specific stalker who he knew wasn't supposed to be there.

The only thing that makes me wonder about this is the interview when Karen said she got a call at the school, talked to Clint, asked him where Holly was, and he said, "She went into the woods with Drew," and she told him, "That wasn't Drew."

That part makes no sense to me. Did Clint really realize it wasn't Drew and call his mom, or did he think it was Drew up until SHE called HIM?

I believe CB called his mom and asked her if Holly was suppose to be in class and told her Holly and Drew just went for a walk into the woods. Then the neighbor called KB about the scream. Then Karen called Clint back and told him that wasn't Drew.

Why? Why would a 25 year old call his mom to ask if his sister should be in class? Why didn't he just go out there and ask himself? Sorry. Any which way I look at it, makes absolutely no sense to me.

I wish we knew the reason he didn't go out there himself.

You know it kinda sounds to me like Holly and CB may not have been on speaking terms at that time. This might explain why he called his Mom. Think of it this way. CB gets up sees that Holly is there with her BF. Maybe he was looking forward to having the house to himself that day and when he saw Holly he got mad and thought hey I'll all Mom and get her in trouble for ditching class to hang with her BF. This would be logical if they had recently had a spat about something. If had thought of this before just never posted it.

Sounds too teenager to me. He's 25.

Yes, but a burglary, rape/murder was solved in my city recently when LE requested DNA samples from men in the neighborhood. When one guy, who had a burlgary record REFUSED, bells went off. LE then secretly followed him and picked up a discarded cigarette for testing. BINGO, it matched the rape kit DNA and he is now awaiting trial.

Problem is, LE would have to have the perps DNA, however, the locals don't know for sure, whether LE does or not, so it wouldn't hurt to ask.

DNA from possible suspects does no good if they don't have something to compare it to. They don't have a body, so they can't extract other DNA for comparison.

There is only a timeline if you believe the family. If you don't, there's no way of knowing what happened the night before or even the days leading up to the 911 calls.

Possibly off-topic - Holly's cousin Whitney Duncan

@whitneyduncan Whitney Duncan

Apparently there is a Survivor commercial where I say "I certainly wasn't expecting to get into my underwear so quickly"...haha. Great.

What bothers me is who would know who Whitney Duncan is if she wasn't Holly Bobo's cousin....
Would she have been on Survivor if it wasn't for Holly's abduction?

I trust the family.
Despite conflicting info from media and family, I still wonder why people are so distrusting of the FBI released info:

http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/kidnap/holly-bobo/view

Reports from witnesses, initial media reports, etc are notoriously inaccurate.
The FBI sticking with certain releases on Holly's poster are not, imvho.

<Holly Lynn Bobo was last seen early on the morning of April 13, 2011, outside of her home in Darden, Tennessee. She was seen being led away from the carport of her home toward a wooded area by a man described as approximately 5'8" to 6'0" tall and 200 pounds, wearing camouflage clothing. >

I don't understand why that matters, to be honest.

Respectfully- I mean, I might know who Whitney Duncan is. My next door neighbor might. Holly's family surely would.

It probably doesn't matter. Just a nagging feeling without explanation.

That information was revised. Why? Who knows. Is Holly's bf more 5'8 or 6? That should answer the question. If CB was the last person to see the suspect and he thought it was Drew and Drew is 5'8" that's where that info came from. Why was it changed? There were no other witnesses. Drew is definitely not 200 lbs from the photos I've seen of him.
