EHHH --Yeah, it seems pretty obvious to me that Survivor producers were sitting around one day prior to the April 13th abduction of Holly Bobo, and WHITNEY DUNCAN was just the OBVIOUS choice for the NEW season.....cause everyone knows Whitney, and she will pull in millions of viewers. Are you kidding me-- her visibility in the Bobo case had everything to do with getting on that show....and the fact that she was a beautiful young aspiring singer did not hurt either.

It is just one more question about the family dynamics that should not have to be brought into this investigation.....and I agree the promo seems off--but then her going on Survivor , for me, seems pretty dismissive of the severity of her cousins case. That's just me!:twocents:

I think my statement may have been misunderstood.

What I was trying to say, is that I don't understand how Holly's cousin being on a television show has anything at all to do with finding Holly. Or why it would be 'dismissive' of her cousin to be on a tv show. :waitasec:

If Holly had a cousin who was an oncologist, and who continued to treat cancer patients while Holly was missing- or a cousin who was a cosmetologist who continued to cut hair while Holly was missing- or a cousin who was a petsitter who continued to take care of other peoples' pets... would that make them 'dismissive' of Holly's situation??

And why on earth does it matter what Holly's cousin is doing??

And I feel the need to say again, that WS's is a victim friendly forum. Mod's- please correct me if I am mistaken- but imvho, this train of thought is completely useless in the search for Holly, and does not respect the victims' family.

Holly Bobo's parents still relive daughter's disappearance, every second too long

Clint, 25, halted studies at the University of Tennessee Martin, where he was working toward a degree in social work. He took an incomplete the semester his sister disappeared and has not gone back to school since, Karen said.

He travels to surrounding towns and states at least two to three times a week with friends to pass out fliers marked with his sister's face.

He used to double date with her and ride four-wheelers, Karen said.

The family ate dinner together almost every night, watched "American Idol" together and occasionally caught a movie on Sundays. They have not watched TV at all since Holly disappeared, he said.

Dana said he left the doors unlocked and keys in the ignition sometimes, but not anymore.

Now, he said, the family doesn't eat dinner until 10 p.m. or sometimes midnight because they are running down leads reported earlier in the day.

She and Holly, a nursing student at the University of Tennessee Martin Parsons campus used to text and talk about five times every day.

More -

Karen said she was in her school's cafeteria when she got the message that a neighbor's son had heard screams coming from their home.

"I think at that point I knew something was wrong because I knew Holly had a test, a big test, that day," she said. "And at the time she came and told me that, Holly should've already been gone to school."

Karen said Clint, who was at home asleep at the time, did not hear screams.

"Well, when I spoke to Clint, and he asked me did Holly not have school today because her car was still here, then I really knew something," Karen said.

He also asked his mom if Holly was going hunting with her boyfriend. Karen said no and that her daughter should have already been at school because she had a test.

Karen panicked, making two calls to the police as she made her way home and informed her husband, who also rushed home from work.

She said when her son realized what had happened, he also called the police.

The family said they still believe that Holly is alive, and that belief drives them.

We need a recap on who all did - and did not - call 911.

ETA: Also, we need more Colorforms.

Well that's weird. The Jackson Sun article was updated and now includes all the info in the article above:

http://www.jacksonsun.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2011108210309

And some additional info it looks like:

Karen popped blueberry or strawberry muffins in the microwave for Holly every morning before leaving for Scotts Hill and called her every day at lunch. Holly was a nursing student at the University of Tennessee Martin Parsons Center.

The mother and daughter are very much alike, Dana said.

"They think alike," he said. "They would finish each other's sentences."

Karen said they rushed to apologize to each other when they had misunderstandings.

"Neither one of us could go to sleep at night unless we apologized to each other," she said.

and this

Karen said Clint, who was at home asleep at the time, did not hear screams.

"I had shut his bedroom door that day because she was studying, and I think he had a paper to write so he was planning on getting up later in the morning," she said.

My understanding is that making observations of behaviors are within the guidelines for the forum, so long as they don't bash.

Maybe we do need a mod to clarify the rules.

I asked a mod, BeanE- because I wasn't sure. Hopefully one will pop in and answer.

I guess I just don't see the value, kindness, or necessity in that train of thought.

I mean- if someone has some sort of position of interest that points toward Holly's cousin being involved with Holly's abduction... then I guess it's fair game.
But I haven't seen anything that points to any info relative to that.

Seems like a waste of time and space- and a bit like judging completely innocent persons.

I bet it was the one in the print edition of the Jackson Sun.

yeah that someone was supposed to go get

Each interview has little nuggets...

So perhaps the screams were early...

Now its the son of a neighbor who heard them...

Bobo's kept house and cars unlocked...

So according to the article, it sounds like, anyway, that Clint was living there on a regular basis. Wonder where his vehicle was parked and if it was always there at that time of the morning.

I agree. It might also be noted that a young, aspiring singer who is apparently not nationally recognized would take any opportunity to be seen on t.v. in hopes of furthering her career... even if it's just a reality show.
There is nothing wrong with that, IMO. People cannot put their lives on hold when there is a crisis in the family. She has to think of her own future.
Eventually, everybody has to return to their lives, and their jobs. It's difficult, but no one can stay in limbo forever.

WARNING: Let's becareful discussing extended family members here. Holly's cousin is open for discussion in regards to the comments she has made to the media. The discussion of her role on Survivor for the new season may also be discussed as it relates to Holly's case. After that, she is off-limits, just like any other family member.

Let me or any of the mod team know if you have questions about that.
