I got a new phone recently. I woke up and had a text sentto me at around 2am; telling me that the person needed w**d immediatly. I debated sending a message back letting him/her know that whomever had the phone perviously no longer has it, and that I am a police officer(which I am not). I did however,send them a message that i was not the intended recipeint and to let any other clients know as well.

Yikes! You don't happen to have a 905 area code, do you? LOL

hmmm just before midnight, IIRC didn't they get back to woodstock between 9 and 10pm....Is Hwy 59 south a direction he would use to be heading home, just coming back into Woodstock or to TLM's house????

If the media reported this correctly, this goes to show that alot detail gets left out when tweeting us the news.

Well, buying her stuff, giving her his passport, I'm going to venture to guess that he was using this as manipulation to get her to do what he wanted to.

I think he did the same thing with TLM. Buying her drugs, giving her (her mom) furniture and God only knows what else.

Hard to get into a criminal's mind.

respectfully....I did not read that he gave her his passport...but I did read that he gave her his birth certificate...I find this rather strange but also I do know that when I cross the border with more than one in the car it is the driver who gathers up the passports and hands them to the custom officer..maybe if this was not a popular border that they crossed over and the custom officer accepted a birth certificate with ID that J would could have passed them over and then maybe she put same into her purse for safe keeping...just saying... if he indeed does hold a CDN passport then he does not have a record or any outstanding charges against him (well at that time)...JMO

If MR had the Blackberry Desktop software installed on his laptop then I would imagine the police would be able to retrieve backed up data from it. Just a thought.

I have a BB and have used the back up feature when upgrading phones.

you could in may 2009....law changed in June 2009 that a passport was required.

Don't know but have been wondering myself. He was described as needy. It appeared he moved quickly in relationships (lol) perhaps that was one way of presenting himself to insinuate quickly into women's lives? It is my belief he would do these things to get close and get whatever it was he wanted from these women. Money,place to stay,etc. Or simply maybe he was buttering her up to see if she would take him along to Vegas. I don't doubt he would of loved to have gotten as far away as possible at that point. Yes, they went together on the 15th, and she was going to leave May 20 for Vegas, but he wanted to go again on the 18th. I don't think it was specified if the 18th was to be both of them, or just him. The fact he asked for his birth cert back made me wonder if he was planning on going himself on the 18th or was just asking for it back because she was leaving on the 20th. Just wondering why his plans for the trip on the 18th didn't seem to materialize that we know of.

IIRC, he had dropped TLM off around 10:30 pm at or close to her home.

oh I agree they would have nabbed him but I meant with the lack of evidence produced by LE to date how would they be able to make their charges stick...nothing there so far...JMO.. but then again I could very well be wrong...

It is starting to look like the Crown got their case severely challenged, when TLM recanted and her letters, journals, and admission to her godmother were revealed. Did the Crown present them as evidence......or did Derstine uncover them?

Perhaps they thought TLM's testimony would be credible and didn't realize they would need to corroborate all of her testimony.

That was late in the game.........for the Crown.

The defense knew what their case was going to be. They had MR giving them the information for 3 years and it probably didn't change much.

I still wonder when LE decided to stop looking for the car wash and why.

Gosh i thought it was in effect even then. I have always held a valid passport for travel so likely didn't notice exact year. It sure was talked about for years before it was enforced. Thanks for clarifying.

OMG...imagine the evidence they would have found in that car though. Just the baggie of percs would have gotten the car confiscated overnight I'd bet. And the hacked up back seat would have been an eye opener.

Macright, that doesn't prove anything really Every canadian citizen is entitled to hold a passport(it's your right), even if you have a record. The only thing is, if someone with a record decides to go to another country, the host country can refuse entry. Is that what you meant?

I wondered that too about a passport. When did the laws change that you had to have a passport to travel across the USA/Canadian border??? It has been sometime in the last couple of years.

June 2009 in came into effect

Regulations that require a passport for entry to America by land or sea from Canada have gone into effect as of June, 2009

after following several other trials very closely I think the Crown is doing a great job insofar as I can tell by tweets.

I also think LE did an outstanding job in investigating Tori's abduction and catching her killers.

This is a circumstantial case with elements of direct evidence (which is very rare) from the other perp.

The Crown has said from the start that her credibility will be put under scrutiny (as it should!!) but so far elements of her story (and her possible lies) are lining up with circumstantial facts in this case. It will be the big, overall picture that ties the case up with a bow on top... and I think we still have a long way to go to get there.

I think they can do it.
