I've just been stung too many times chasing all links posted to find out several lead to fru fru, nothing relevant or some distracting kumbaya stuff that may or may not be brief, on point, well written and readable, or may be longer than War And Peace without ever addressing the headlined title.

It's nice when somebody shares a link and puts forth some effort to at least give an idea of the article's subject matter. :)

I usually have that many tabs oven on my phone. Plus about a dozen or so apps. Lol

Well that answers why we heard nothing about the jury convening today as was reported it would. It appears the answer from September 17, 2018 is, 'we have no idea so just stop being human and patiently wait for all this to simmer down.'

I want to click "like" on your post, but, I don't like its message. I wish the "like" button was "thanks". Maybe the forum owner will consider making that small adjustment that removes the icky feeling from clicking "like" on posts that share disturbing facts you simply appreciate learning and of the nature you'd be a monster to actually like! :-)

South Side Flats was completed in 2016, NOT 2015 as my inspection of Google Earth's imagery over the timeline lead me to believe, and has 288 units. Pivoting from the ancedotal account offered by a poster here regarding the door closure failure rate, the odds his door closer was one out of 288 units that was inoperative on that very night are pretty slim.

It does however, appear part of the large complex was complete with units available in 2015.

Since AG had only lived there for one month I will give her parking at the wrong level and going to wrong apartment from being tired. I went out partying once with a friend when we got back to her apartment I was the first one out of the car and went to the wrong door so that can happen. What I can't wrap my head around is the whole door thing. I live in an apartment complex and my door automatically closes the only time it doesn't completely close is when I am going out and I keep my hand on the handle outside which slows the door down. If I don't touch the door it closes automatically when I go in and go out. I also lock my door as soon as I get in and I check it before I go to bed. Maybe that is because I am a female maybe men aren't as careful. I still can't understand the whole door thing. I think neighbors would have said if there were issues with doors not closing properly. I do not find it credible that his door was ajar.that to me is the stumbling block to her story.

Bail amounts should only be enough to assure an appearance per the 8th amendment. Amount determined based on flight risk. Many should be ROR, zero money, as the fear of a misdemeanor or felony failure to appear should assure appearances.

However, welcome to Merika where bail amounts are calculated to extract as much money from a person charged as they can get which makes profit for the bondsmen while reducing the arrested person's ability to retain vigorous representation.

The racket results in poor innocent people sitting in jail while wealthy people with means to make flight are only inconvenienced.

I have no idea why any of the protesters remain jailed. Parole or probation violations, outstanding warrants, or maybe simply not any money to bond out much less put up cash bail?

From the link above, it sounds like the police and courts are just dragging their feet, delaying any hearings for them. They moved some of them to Tarrant County Jail, just because. Not surprising, it is Texas after all.

About 75 people marched alongside the coffins symbolizing Oshae Terry and Botham Jean, men who were fatally shot by North Texas officers this month.

The stadium protest was a first for Milton Perkins. He said he’s never joined an activist event before, but Jean’s death convinced him to speak out.

“I will fly anywhere, I will walk anywhere, I will ride my bike anywhere,” the Dallas man said. “It’s got to stop.”

They were arrested at the stadium. It is in Arlington. Arlington is in Tarrant County. DPD is not in the mix at all. Local news station said earlier that they would be transferred to the Tarrant County jail for bond hearing.

So why were they sent to the wrong jail to begin with?

Attorney S. Lee Merritt, who is representing Jean's family, said in a written statement that the nine protesters split off from the rest of the group and "peacefully engaged in an act of civil disobedience by obstructing traffic into the game."

"This treatment of citizens outraged by the very corruption from which they now suffer is intolerable," Merritt said in the statement.

Merritt said he learned Monday evening the protesters would remain in jail overnight.

I’ve struggled with the like button since it went into effect. The only way I made myself feel better was to tell myself: Like really means *Thanks* for sharing. I continue to struggle...

It used to be "thanks" for this helpful post

Shocking, they

Why am I not shocked by that? Surely, they couldn't make bail on a Sunday night and walk out the back door within an hour of their arrest. ::sarcasm::

They weren't sent to the wrong jail. Arlington and many cities within Tarrant County typically take their arrestees to their cities lockup. Tarrant County jailors pick up from Arlington City Jail once daily. Once they arrive at Tarrant County Jail bond can be set, video arraignment can be completed, and in the event that a court appearance is necessary the subject can be taken thru a tunnel to the County Court which is located next door to the jail.

I really feel the protesters are hurting this cause. The constant reference to her being a police officer makes it harder to convict.

I can post links but check out the killing of Daniel Shaver. He was on the food crawling toward an officer beginning not to be killed when he was shot 5 times. There is video, if you can stomache it. Yet the jury acquitted.

Look at Thomas Kelly. Dear Lord they beat the man to death. He begged them to stop. Its the most disgusting 20 minute video you will ever see. Again, the officers involved were acquitted.

Pointing out that she was a police officer might help certain causes, but IMO it hurts the case against her.

(And yes, to avoid any racial discussion both Shaver and Kelly were white men).

That's the only thing that I will give her because she just moved it a month ago but nothing more. I just got married and I keep forgetting my last name is different. I know its not the same thing at all, but I am using that as example because of how new it is? Does that make her any less guilty? Nope. She shot him. But I guess how I could see that happening. Something still does not feel right..

I saw that video today for the first time and I was so sick. I couldn't believe it. The man complied and was not shot once, but 5 times. 5 times. And then used the excuse that it was justified because he was reaching back and he had to protect himself and the citizen, They detained. Now, I'm not sure if I heard this right but wouldn't that be a girlfriend or a friend? Why the hell would he shoot them? Just some lame excuse. But how do you put 5 shots in someone and can live with yourself knowing goodness why, his prick*** didn't think that man was really gonna shoot him.

You must have travelled down the same rabbit hole I did. I found out about the Shaver case and saw the video while reading an article about this case.

But the author was correct the jury will be quicker to let Officer Amber Guyger off than just Amber Guyger. Emphasis needs to be placed on the fact that she wasn't "on the job" at the time.

I do not believe they can legally deny you a bail reduction hearing after requested any more than say, maybe 48 hours for petty charges? Have bail amounts even been set? Holding on petty charges without timely setting of bail should result in filing in district court just as denial of a bail reduction hearing should.

I am not learned and studied in Texas criminal procedure and only with some notions of how their system is structured.

Moved from where to Tarrant County Jail?

How many total? How many moved?

Arraignment for a non-felony charge with no indictment???

They weren't sent to the wrong jail. Arlington and many cities within Tarrant County typically take their arrestees to their cities lockup.
