Thanks for the earlier links. I tend to think the some of the earlier reports are more credible. They are often open statements before politics get involved.
And now this, they just edited the article!

Warrant Coming for Officer Who Killed Man in Dallas Apt.
Editor's Note: A previous version of this story included an account of events told by a Dallas police source. Due to conflicting reports of the incident from various sources, we've removed that account from the story.

Who asked them to remove it?

I don‘t buy it. Dallas. A multi-story apartment building. An accountant in his underwear, getting ready to sleep, lights turned off. He leaves his door ajar?!

Give me a break!
The report I saw says the door was unlocked. Didn't say anything about it being ajar.

I rather think that the first story we read was true. That she was trying to get the door open with a key that did not fit and he opened the door and she shot him. I don't believe the door was open at all.
Report attributed to an anonymous source can hardly be considered as highly credible.

The arrest warrant says "slightly ajar."

It is removed from the website so whoever wrote it doesn't even stand by it.
What I‘m thinking: He told the truth (why lie?) but he wasn’t aware she was going to change the narrative after spending the weekend working out a defense. Now, that he knows her testimony, he wants to cover up for his colleague, so she doesn’t get into trouble? That‘s why he doesn’t stand by it?

I do not find the LE report to be highly credible either. I do not find her story that she didn't know that she was at the wrong apartment highly credible either.

A white Dallas police officer says she shot her black neighbor whose home she mistakenly entered after he ignored her "verbal commands," police wrote in an arrest affidavit released Monday.

David Armstrong of the Texas Rangers wrote that officer Amber Guyger said she inserted her key into the door, and it opened because it had been slightly ajar. Guyger said the apartment was completely dark and she thought a burglar was inside her home when she noticed a large silhouette across the room, he wrote.

Guyger drew her handgun, gave verbal commands that were ignored and fired her weapon twice, striking 26-year-old Botham Jean once in the torso.

She entered the apartment and called 911, requesting an ambulance and police. When 911 asked for her location, she checked outside the apartment and realized she was at the wrong apartment, Armstrong wrote in the affidavit.

I am soooo confused. Was Botham Jean shot once or twice? Ok, I just answered myself. Affidavit says struck one time. Fired twice. Where did the other bullet go and which shot killed him, the first or second? Does it make a difference? I think so.

According to the affidavit "Guyger drew her handgun, gave verbal commands that were ignored and fired her weapon twice, striking 26-year-old Botham Jean once in the torso."

I guess the autopsy will be the final say.

ETA: I remember the lawyer in the conference last night, saying he was shot twice. I will have to go back and watch.

It SAYS in the affidavit that the door was "slightly ajar".
If it was “slightly ajar” why in the hell did she fell the need to insert her key into the door? The hallway is lit up real good so how could she not see it ajar. If it was ajar and then opened why in the hell were the commands “open up open up” stated?

Affidavit says she shot at him twice but he was only shot one time. So she missed one shot.

She did not wonder why there was a bright red rug in front of the door? What does she say about that? She thought it was a surprise housewarming gift from a friend ( do we have a rolling eyes icon?)

Guyger didn't even know what floor she was on and could not see the red rug/doormat?

And what's with the conflicting accounts from the MSM?

Who asked them to remove it?

This case is making me question the MSM a little more than I usually do.

The case will be presented to a grand jury, which could decide on more serious charges than manslaughter, Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson said Monday. Johnson said her office will first collect all of the evidence surrounding the shooting.

Jean family attorneys, including Benjamin Crump, and local politicians rallied against the Dallas Police Department for failing to make a timely arrest in the case. "You or I would be arrested if we went to the wrong apartment and blow a hole in a person's chest, killing them," said Crump.

I’m a little cynical. Came with the territory. I tend to wait to make up my mind on the coverage. But this one is a massive fail from top to bottom. It’s obvious now.
