Lots of plausible theories, but frustratingly little to go on. We do have a party with an alleged motive, documented financial strain, alleged impropriety, knowledge of the garage sale, and up-to-the-minute involvement in Sergios work schedule, vehicle, etc... that remains the leading contender in my book. when(!) an arrest is made, I'll be somewhat surprised if this person wasn't involved. (moo!).

I wish Pat Brown discussed that angle but in her video she didn't even know the husband's name let alone other suspects named. Someone with financial issues and an insurance policy does point to a STRONG MOTIVE. But according to Sergio it's 500k but he did not seek to request it.

I think it is unlikely that person himself is on the video).

agreed - If this person turns out to be involved, my best guess is they hired a worker they've done business with in the past who also happens to have gang/cartel ties.

There's all sorts of conflicting thoughts / quotes / interpretations on the state of the life insurance policy, but I think we are discouraged from discussing them here.

ok, thank you for the head's up.
I'm curious if anyone else was on life insurance or will. Someone else with motivation.

As far as I've heard, no beneficiaries aside from Sergio

This can probably be chalked up to SB being emotional during the dashcam footage video, but he says at 13:01 and 13:19 very clearly that their anniversary trip was in two weeks. Other news articles have always stated they were "days away" from their trip. I am just wondering when the trip was booked for since one theory is that the killer wanted EB dead before their trip.

SB watched what footage he had from their Nest camera on the way to the scene because he describes where the truck came from and how they turned around to the officer around 3:58 in the dashcam footage video. I am wondering what prompted him to check the footage initially where he describes seeing crime scene tape and talking to an officer through the Nest cam before returning? If his notifications were muted knowing there would be garage sale traffic, fine, but I imagine the alarm company would have tried calling him first. He didn't answer so they moved on to EB's parents. How did he know to check the camera and who else, if anyone, called him to alert him that something was going on?

Another thing I have been wondering is how someone got dashcam footage and does anyone have any insight into who could get access to this type of footage?

I suspect he saw the unanswered call from the company as he probably got a second call or SMS from Liz's parents when they hopped into the car.

Curious if the the plane tickets were purchased in advance. Tickets to the theme parks in Florida? Or not yet.

Depends on where they were staying. Some of the Universal Studios hotels when you book the hotel room you get the tickets included like the early park openers.

TX - TX - Terri 'Missy' Bevers, 45, killed in church/suspect in SWAT gear, Midlothian, 18 Apr 2016 #49

I realize this has been hashed out a few times, but I just can’t shake the fact that these two blatant murders happened so close in proximity to each other. And so many other similarities. Even if not related, how odd!? MOO IMO
Keep in mind that Houston alone suffers around 400 murders per year, and these murders are separated by 200 miles and 2.5 years. Sadly there are simply quite a lot of murders in that time and radius :(

I don't know too much about Pat Brown but I watched one of her videos and about 10 seconds in she said SUCH silly nonsene that I just can't her serious after that.

Her videos are hard for me to listen to because in the Liz Barraza video she was unprepared and didn't know much about her husband or other players, I do love hearing profile insights but I prefer them to get to the point quickly versus rambling.

Agreed, I would love to hear smart, well-informed insights about profiling but I found her to be shockingly unprofessional. The lack of preparation alone made me doubt her judgment.

I recall her to be more straightforward when as a guest on the news, but they are given a very small window to respond.
I'm trying to find any other profiler who analyzed this case I just find amateurs (nothing wrong with it) but am curious about FBI criminal profilers.

Quickly approaching is the 5 year mark of when Liz Barraza was senselessly gunned down by a coward on her own driveway.

-- I'd like to see Det. Ken Maines deep dive into this case.
-- I am also surprised why more profilers haven't looked into this case.
-- How about John Kelly profile this case.
-- Crickets. Too many crickets.

Agree.. I did listen to her all the way through re: Liz (thanks for the link!) and she had an interesting perspective or two, but I couldn't help thinking that if someone is going to do a podcast on a crime, they should immerse themselves in the details enough to be able to speak to the basic facts. If she had done that, she'd probably have a repeat listener in me... But as it is I think the discussions here are way more thought provoking and well considered.

A question I have is: Why didn't the killer do the surveillance during the day? Why drive around at 12:30am in the morning? Does the killer have a sleep problem?

If it was a planned murder and they only did surveillance the night before, did they really figure out they could drive off the end of Sandusky Drive to get back to Kuykendahl Road at 12:30 am in the morning? I think police would have checked to see if there was any surveillance cameras that captured the Nissan Frontier Pro-4X truck earlier than at nighttime so that maybe they get a better description or maybe can read the license plate?

According to what I read(and someone can correct me), but the garage sale signs were not put up until the night before the garage sale the next day. If it were me investigating this case, I would certainly want to follow Sergio in a re-creation about exactly how he and Elizabeth walked to put up the garage sale signs.

Maybe this murder was only planned the night before?
