I am wondering if it WAS them.

One of my biggest concerns this whole time is that it does not appear this house was searched. That the place where the suspect is staying right now... did not appear to have been searched. He could have her in the basement/cellar/attic/under the porch and nobody would know, because they never searched.

So if this was LE in the house it would give me a bit more hope that maybe they got some sort of warrant. I so hope they have thoroughly searched both his Mom's and Grandma's houses. All we have heard for sure is that they took his Mom's computer but that was voluntary... until she wanted it back and they got the warrant to prevent her from taking it back.

Nothing about searching the houses thoroughly...

They could have also just been taking a DNA sample...
We know they took one from Billie and Clint earlier. Maybe they got a warrant to get it from Shawn to compare with any evidence they find?

They also took something from Billie's shed so I am wondering if they are looking for specific dirt/dust/debris samples for some reason. Maybe dust on clothing or car seats indicates he was somewhere and they are tryng to exclude places it came from based on something Shawn said.

I know this has been posted before, but it bears repeating, IMO.

http://bigcountryhomepage.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=330656

A family member told investigators he was speaking to Adkins and said he couldn't believe anyone would hurt a little girl, and Adkins replied, "Yeah, it's like killing a deer."

Witnesses said Adkins often talked about killing deer and cutting them up with chainsaws, and that he was obsessed with horror and slasher movies and watches them daily.

I guess this was also just SA's "matter [or manner] of speaking" (according to some) when talking to his family member about the disappearance & possible murder of HD:

"Yeah, it's like killing a deer."

SA makes me sick. He's hideous. Oh - but BD says she "loves him", which indicates that she finds him alluring, desirable (even after everything that's happened).

Even though he says killing a little girl [HD] is like "killing a deer". Oh - but, I guess that's just his *manner of speaking*.

After all, he *loves Hailey with all his heart*, and he "would never do nothing to that little girl."

Excuse me while I vomit.

Hi, sort of O/T, but it's been bugging me.
A thread or two back, someone mentioned that over 50% of all women murdered were by a husband or boyfriend...that may have been true at one time (didn't go back to check), but I was working on a research thingie for my "Sociology of Murder class" (I know, best class ever!), and knew this wasn't true.

Link below:

From the FBI's website:
Of the female murder victims for whom their relationships to the offenders were known, 34.6 percent were murdered by their husbands or boyfriends.

I didn't think I was ever going to get caught up! I had to write down the things I wanted to comment on so here goes.

Regarding whether BD is wearing a missing shirt or not, I admire her that she is able to get any shirt on and get a bath or shower. I don't know if I could. I've been known to go out with mismatched shoes on a good day.

On the acid - acid is a scary thing. I wouldn't think your normal person would want to mess with it too much but then a murderer isn't normal in my book. My hubby was using some stain remover on a spot on the carpet. Ms Follow the Rules was trying to read the back of the bottle to him but he wouldn't listen about the gloves. Needless to say, neither of us got any sleep that night. He screamed and hollered all night refusing to go to the ER even after I called the # on back of the bottle and they said he had to go or it would eat clean to the bone. I gave him a glass of ice water to put his fingers in and waited until morning. The next morning I was able to get someone qualified to call the number, mix the goo that would draw the acid out and let me come pick it up. He still lost his fingernails. Oh and I purchased this at the grocery store so if you have some in your cabinet lock it away from your kids!!

About SA and BD not riding together to work, had they had a fight and it was the norm for them to ride together? She refused to go with him and called someone else for a ride? He was afraid they were going to put him out or leave themselves that he left work to come back and see. Trying to get out of an abusive relationship is the most dangerous time.

BD needs a supportive counselor. Not someone who is trying to get answers or evidence but a professional to help her through this and beyond. I hope her friend and some of these new groups that have stepped in will assist them all with finding this.

Those 911 calls were heartbreaking to me. I sympathize with LE having to deal with domestic issues but it reminds me of Zahra's case where the system just plain failed her. People always are so disgusted at the woman for allowing it and not leaving. If an abused woman had that type of personality make up, the cycle would never make it's 2nd revolution. It is a cycle! Abuse, honeymoon, tension building - repeat. The abuse is the shortest cycle and usually a huge relief after a long tension building cycle.

The fact that BD called him MHMR says to me that she knows much more about how dangerous he is but she may have to be out of this situation for a much longer period before she can discuss the things she knows. Even when LE or hospital staff deal with a brief traumatic event they have to be debriefed.

She is a strong woman to keep putting herself out there. I admire her strength. Stay strong BD until they bring your baby home.

Ive got to say that "sociology of murder" would be fascinating!!! My husband often wonders about me, but I come from a police family and luuuuvvv detective and police shows and of course true crime.

sorry to also go off the topic, but I think this fascination and trying to get inside how possible murderers think is why alot of us are here on websleuths.

To me however, I see myself and all of you as being on the "good" side as we want to try and help find people or get justice for them if they have been killed and are angered and repulsed by these people actions, whereas someone like SA, his fascination to me crosses over into the "bad" side as it doesnt repulse, it delights!

I am just trying to keep up with the local news now. I can not keep up with all the comments on WS, but did not want to seem like I was just lurking. I usually just make comments or ask questions about something I think would be helpful. I came on here to post some links to things I was sent or read in the newspapers, but by comments made that I read they had been posted earlier.

Watching NG about Lindsey Baum and listening to her Mother's pleas, made me want to post this.

To anyone that may be reading about Hailey here and knows where she may be......

Please, take Hailey to a public place or take her some where safe and call someone to pick her up. No matter what you involvement is with this case, just please get Hailey back safe.

MHMR: The way she said it made me think what she was trying to say was MMR...? :waitasec:

ETA: Mildly Mentally Retarded. (I am just taking a stab at the acronym here so please do not start spreading a rumor that SA is MMR.)

As she is a nurse, I'd hope she'd have used the appropriate acronym if she was referring to a medical/mental thing, so MHMR is probably correct. Not yet sure myself what it MEANS.

it's supposed to stand for "Mental Health and Mental Retardation" as a field, can't find another meaning for acronym

NANCY GRACE 1-18-11 - 00:24:43 >> So those were taken in the year before you guys hooked up.

Interesting. People were pretty skeptical after the previous night's show about Billie's assertion that the videos pre-dated her relationship with him, but now it looks to be VERIFIED.

the acid thing they are looking for reminds me of Casey Anthony.. they had reason to look for chloroform.. there has got to be a reason for the acid (sorry i forgot the exact name of the acid) there has got to be somthing..

does anyone know how long it takes to really analize a computer and contents.. if all was deleted and just on hard drive.. how long does it take to go through all info... would they have to go through each web site one by one.

I wonder if they found a bottle or container of the acid at the dump site. If they found anything at all, it would have id numbers on lable and they can track where it was purchased at and if his work place has that batch.

If it is used for meth... I dont doubt that his friends maybe used that substance. Maybe that is why that few weeks ago when they were looking for information LE said somthing to the extent for anyone to come foward and they are not trying to get anyone for drug use or drugs may find.. just in the return of hailey.

I think they are closer than we thing.. to name a suspect then to look for a specfic product... very odd.

All we have heard for sure is that they took his Mom's computer but that was voluntary... until she wanted it back and they got the warrant to prevent her from taking it back.

A friend of mine was having a problem with an external hard drive that her whole family backed their PCs up on, into separate, password protected directories. She said she was going to take it to a shop to try to have the data extracted. Her husband was very irritable the entire night, and the next day admitted that he had been viewing (and saving) 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 of a specific, shocking type that I believe is (literally) illegal in every state in America.

She lost every photo taken by every family member over a period of several years, because she feared the legal ramifications of the revelation of his perversion and bad judgment.

I asked her about this case, and she said that if she had already taken the drive in, she'd have gone directly to the shop to try to retrieve it before anyone saw what was on it. Even though it was in HIS directory, she felt that nobody would believe she didn't know.

BTW, they are no longer married. It was THAT freaky.

--------------------------------------------

If, after LE took his mom's PC, SA said "Uh, mom... I used that computer of yours to go to some bondage websites" or even "...gore websites" (thinking of the type of site that shows things like beheadings, etc.) She might have thought "Oh no! It will look like I visit those sites since it is my PC!" or even "this will make my son look bad". She may have decided she had made a mistake in assuming there was nothing on it that would be damaging, or even embarrassing and asked that it be returned, thinking that, since she GAVE it voluntarily, they would give it back on her request. Just throwing this out there...

ok i take back what i said last night - trying to think of reasons SA may have been pinging etc. if he didnt do anything to hailey then i will be SHOCKED. the 911 call? kill them and it will be "remembered for a long time"!!! im shocked and disgusted. i sort of dont want to know what he's done to hailey now. im too scared to hear it.

You stinker.

I really think he has no regard for human life. I wonder if he could have possibly scared Hailey into leaving? But how could she stay away this long? I am still praying for a miracle here.
Oh Kimster, I'm so afraid you are right. He doesn't seem to have any regard for life at all. We know his history with the deer. Couple that with his comments to the uncle, and it paints the picture of a person whose wiring got frayed somewhere along the line. I hoped and hoped for the longest that she was being protected by friends or family somewhere. But the more we get into what this person is capable of and the "fertile" conditions surrounding this household, well...

Could it be that the MHMR reference meant that they needed to dispatch an officer (if that exists in a small town) that is specially trained in dealing with people diagnosed with mental illness? I have no idea if any of them have been diagnosed with any type of mental illness - just throwing it out there because of the MHMR reference.

I believe that Billie was trying to convey the seriousness of the situation to LE by referring to SA as a MHMR enrollee/client/patient.

Thought I had read somewhere ( I'll see if I can find it) that Shawn was a Transport Driver for Weaver Services. Wonder if Sulfuric Acid is something that he transported ?
Would the openings on those trucks be big enough to put a body in? Also would like to know if Billye was up on that Monday morning and saw Shawn leave for work.

I never lived anywhere where we had to lock the doors or windows, until now. I don't find that unusual. They probably have low crime statistics.

Now that I'm back in San Diego, my house is locked up like Fort Knox. Yet, when we lived in a very small mountain community I felt comfortable enough to leave windows/doors unlocked. In the summer it was not uncommon for me to leave the bedroom window open. Yes, we had little/no crime in our little hood.
