Doing photorealistic renditions of how she would have looked in elementary school is another option that might jog memories?
@rosesfromangels
@CarlK90245 - hi Carl. I am convinced that WCJD was not in high school, but middle school. Perhaps we haven't been looking at the right school pictures. I'm suggesting grades 6-8. (More likely 7-8). Paul offers an interesting suggestion in his post. Thoughts?

Sorry if I was not clear when posting. Classmates only has a few yearbooks for Aransas Pass, and they were all high school. The closest is the 1979 yearbook. I think looking for private schools is a great idea, but not sure what resources exist for older yearbooks online?

I wish someone was local and could go see if the library has yearbooks.

Does Aransas Pass have its own newspaper?

Thanks!

Not sure what I'm going to look for, but it looks interesting.
Look at the book review of the month at the public library. 3/4 down the page. Maybe good timing to see if we can ask the librarian to do some research for us? ; )

I have found a slew of yearbooks, newspapers, articles, videos, etc..here The Portal to Texas History - A gateway to rare, historical, and primary source materials from or about Texas.

Searching through a bunch of yearbooks, I found a photo of a girl(not in Aransas Pass) that I thought resembled WCJD, and posted it on Carl K Who Was Walker County page.. I also found most of the Aransas Pass high school yearbooks on Facebook. They are easy to find if you just type in Aransas Pass Yearbooks..Some man has been downloading the yearbooks. I looked for AC Blunt and other middle school yearbooks, but could not find any..I keep checking back to see if any have been downloaded...

Also, if I recall correctly, someone who posted on the WCJD fb page(about a yr or two ago), says she remembers a girl in her class who fit WCJD description, said she didn't think there were any middle or junior high yearbooks.

This is great! This is exactly the type of research that is needed. I am convinced she was likely 13-14. She looked so young. Heartbreaking.

Glad to hear that! I have found so much on this website..You can even search by decade or year, resource types(newspapers, videos, yearbooks etc)..They have tons articles, probably all of the Aransas Pass papers, yearbooks, videos and old news segments, newspapers, etc.. In the search box, you can get creative and type anything. For example, I've typed "orphans", "Ellis prison", "Rebekah home",""Aransas Pass", even "carnivals" just to name a few, and with each search, tons of stuff comes up, even old videos and news segments. Be forewarned, it's easy to spend hours on it and lose track of time...

.Also want to add, I noticed a lot of the high school yearbooks also have middle school and elementary years in them..

I am local. I will call Tuesday and see if they have yearbooks available to review. I seriously doubt private school would be in play here. JMO

This girl as you have already said, in my opinion she is not from the place, she is probably from another state; many cases of disappearance enter the Namus many years later in the database, maybe we just have to be patient, even if it's been many years that this girl is asking for justice.

If not, then perhaps her prisoner friend was? Aransas Pass is far too random to pick out of the blue. There was a connection of some sort, IMO.

I was thinking...Could it be that it's a girl in Namus database who doesn't have a profile picture?

Interesting thought! Maybe!

Two very young girls who disappeared in the general time frame and have images in NAMUS of very poor quality are Carlota Sanchez (12) and Elsie Luscier (13), two cousins who ran away together. Carlota is the correct height to be WCJD. Their Charley Profiles mention they may have gone to Arizona.

From the images available, I do not see a real resemblance to WCJD, however the images, particularly Elsie's, are not good quality.

I'm surprised to learn that Aransas Pass is such a small town. In the 70s in Montana, I knew about Aransas Pass and the oil rigs, fishing, and military installations. Oil field workers, riggers and so forth, go to where the new fields are being developed and there was a lot of movement from Montana and southern Canada to Texas.

She could be from Aransas Pass without having been born there or gone to school there if she moved there with family. Maybe a parent was a rigger, for example, and brought the family when they got a new job.

Agree that it is peculiar that no one has come forth. Given that she didn't have even a backpack or overnight bag (that we know of), she couldn't have come from that far away?

The only explanation that I can think of is that she was a chronic runaway, or throwaway child that everyone assumed just took off one last time. HOWEVER, the good dental care, stylish hair cut and sandals suggest some level of care. Nothing about this case adds up except I am sure she had someone she cared about at that prison who chose not to claim knowledge of her.
I'd sure like to know who was in that prison at that time from the Aransas Pass. As I suggested upthread it could have been an illicit BF, b/c a father or brother would have claimed knowledge of her IWT.

*IF* they are, why would classmates/other acquaintances stay silent if they know her? Not wanting to get involved, or? What a strange case.

BBM. I agree no one would claim to know her if she was underage. I wonder if she found a "Pen Pal" ad and was corresponding with someone?

With her clothes, nails, and hair she could have been "groomed" by an older male. Especially if she was a "throw away" kid, being treated to hair care, manicures/pedicures, and clothing would cause bonding with a perp. She'd feel more mature for her age. Just some thoughts.

Have we looked at Cheryl Anne Hanson? She was 7, almost 8, when she disappeared, but could have been in a situation similar to the abduction of Suzanne Marie Sevakis. She was kept awhile, perhaps her perp did indeed end up in Ellis Prison, leaving her without resources. She'd be young enough to believe lies such as her family didn't want her or she was saved by this person..."Who cares". He would undoubtedly not claim to know her when asked. Thoughts?

Her age progression pics look a lot like the Carl's image but this little girl is listed with blue eyes. Is there a possibility of the eye colour being distorted in death?

Possible, and admin mistakes are made. They have enough DNA on WCJD to make a definitive ID, IWT.
