Possible, and admin mistakes are made. They have enough DNA on WCJD to make a definitive ID, IWT.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Thankyou Roses, its not something I know enough about. I do think Cheryl Anne's age progression is very similar to Carl's composite.

I don't see the resemblance, but it's worth sending her in. Being that she's missing from Ontario, there wouldn't have been any automatic comparisons.

Blue eyes can darken with age, so it is possible for someone who had eyes listed as "blue" as an infant, and generally accepted to have "blue eyes" to have eyes someone might note as "hazel" in the future. Blue eyes are also not all one shade, right? I say this as a blue eyed person, with blues leaning toward greenish, with a faint bit of gold. I would not say my eyes are hazel, but they're not bright blue like my son's. They're not green, either. I have a friend who has blue eyes with a ring of gold around his pupil. I could see how heterochromia like this could be noted as hazel.

I found this interesting. An age enhancement of Cheryl, and one of Carl's sketches of WCJD:

Cheryl is from the same link in my post directly above.

I messaged the NAMUS email about Cheryl Hanson. Is there anyone else to contact?

I like everyone's ideas, and open minded responses. This is how cases get solved. Keep em' comin!

Wow....

I think Cheryl's mom also resembles the sketches and the PM's. She looks so young and very sad in those images. :( I really hope you hear from the NAMUS contact. Ontario seems possible to me. It wouldn't have been difficult to cross into the US back then....

I got a response...I hope they look into her.

Thank you for you submission, we appreciate your time and support.

NamUs staff will review the submitted information. Additionally, we will notify the investigating agencies for their consideration if the agencies have not be previously notified.

Please note, identifications are only made and/or confirmed by investigating agencies. The results of comparisons may or may not be made available to the public for investigatory reasons.

Hope so! Maybe also try the contact(s) for Cheryl too? Can't hurt!

Yeah, I would definitely contact the Canadian authorities too. And maybe submit through the Doenetwork.

P.S. I was skeptical of the match because I thought the missing girl's chin was much more prominent than WCJD's. But seeing the mother's nose side by side--wow, that's very close and the nose is her most unique feature.

Her hair had no highlights ? Yet she had pierced ears with no earrings - how in the world has she remained unidentified after all these years? I’m amazed at all your research

This is one of my first cases I followed. I too cannot believe she still does not have her name back. To me, she is recognizable..
Which leads me to believe she was never reported missing. So I ask what would be the reason for not doing so? Labeled as a habitual runaway, bounced from family member to family member, foster care..?
If showed a pic in prison of a deceased love one, you would speak up (I would think)
However, I do believe Ellis housed death row...maybe the last time the inmate seen her she was very young...so she wouldnt be recognized?? As I mentioned prior, a minor would need to be accompanied by a guardian at visitation. She was also dressed in a sweater and sandals as if though to look nice and presentable for someone...
It would be great if inmates and guards could be found who were still alive and at Ellis at that time who might have helpful information today...or the man driving the Caprice who was seen dropping her off.

DNA is key to solving this...I hope Othram or another lab picks this case up....or, the bite mark gets a hit in the system. This was cold hearted and overkill....as if to humilate.
This monster, in my opinion, has committed this type of brutality before. At this point, I just want our girl identified...

This poor girl suffered a horrible, painful death. I join you in prayers for her identification. It's very puzzling that no one has claimed her.

I think it's highly likely that the people who do know her aren't even aware of the murder. I've talked to people from not far from there who never heard of the case.

I was serious about the billboard. I saw billboards for so many other things when I have been on roadtrips. I do not think they're terribly expensive?
