Next witness: Chris Lester, Austin-Travis County EMS. He has been with ATCEMS for 18 years. At the time of the murder, he was a district commander, going to medical calls and performing administrative tasks.

Lester is now recalling his memories from the night of the murder. Lester responded and saw officers and firefighters on the scene. Lester walked up while CPR was in progress. Fire department was the one who was trying to decide if CPR should continue. Lester could see big pool of blood around the head and vomit coming out of the mouth.Blood pool was about twice the size of the patient's head.

Moriah's father has his head in his hands and it appears as if he is plugging his ears with his fingers. Lester is describing the state of his daughter's body and it is graphic for us all.

Discussing when to make a death pronouncement: there were obvious signs of death upon arrival and so they were able to get a time-of-death from medical director. No more questions from State.

Defense: Q: How many people were present when you arrived on scene? A: 4 firefighters, 2 officers.Q: Any other EMS? A: No.Q: How long were you there? A: 4 minutes, maybe lessQ: Did you see others coming and going? A: AFD dismissed after time-of-death called. He didn't pay attention to anything after that.Q: How large was bathroom? A: Small, narrow.Q: How many people were in bathroom? A: Two with another three in living roomQ: Anyone on their knees? A: Yes, officerQ: Everyone wearing gloves? A: Can't recallQ: Were you? A: Yes.No further questions.

We are about to watch body-worn camera from Officer Taylor on the night of the murder.

BODY WORN CAMERA:

Taylor approaches the scene from the back driveway. APD vehicle has its lights on, there are no sirens. Timecode: 22:03:53

An unknown woman is standing with Taylor on the top balcony. It is not Cash and we have not seen this person before. I believe she is a civilian on a ride-along with APD. Taylor says it is common for APD to have civilians traveling to active scenes. It is not necessarily uncommon for them to exit police vehicle.

(Alex note: It is very bizarre to me to see an non-uniformed civilian so close to scene where Wilson is getting CPR rendered. This is an active crime scene and she is just standing there quietly.)

Taylor takes the bike bag from the bottom of the stairs and places it in the grass. He does this so first responders do not trip on it.

State has no more questions.

Defense now questioning:

Q: What was your role on scene?
A: Response and assistance with scene security

Q: Why set up tape?
A: To preserve evidence

Q: Why?
A: People can contaminate a crime scene

Q: How many crime scenes have you attended?
A: Over 100

Q: Did this have potential to be homicide?
A: Potentially, I didn't have that information at first.

Q: How many access points to apt?
A: Just the one

Q: Suspect on scene?
A: No

Q: Does that mean suspect had to exit from stairwell?
A: Most likely

Q: Bag at bottom of stairs, you move it?
A: Yes

Q: Isn't it important to maintain the sanctity of the scene?
A: Preserving life trumps maintaining evidence placement

Q: Keeping evidence pristine is important?
A: Yes

Q: Were you directed to move that bag?
A: No

No further questions from defense.

State redirect:Q: Were you wearing gloves?
A: Yes

Q: Was that bag in front of stairway?
A: Yes

Q: Did you move bag for safety? Could someone have tripped?
A: Yes

No further questions. Witness excused.

What kind of a question by the defense is "Why set up tape?" Seriously?

KA’s birthday is 11/21. I only remember this because I share her bday.
I hope she receives a guilty verdict for her birthday and spends the rest of her life behind bars.

Officer Padilla has former police experience in Puerto Rico as part of the major crimes division. State says it sounds like he does good police work.State asks as if the crime appeared as if the perp knew the victim. Padilla says yes. Witness being excused.

I'm not so sure about that: This case has legs, literally.
I will always think of her 2nd escape as the beetle-juice video. Up a wall then around a tree….
I can’t believe she was not cuffed or shackled entering court. JMO
