Sounds very much like defense is desperate to find something overlooked or technically incorrect in the processing of the scene, as if to try to get a mistrial or KA released on a technicality.

It's early, but I'm not seeing how defense is going to argue that KA wasn't there or couldn't have done it. We haven't even received the autopsy information, and that is going to show 3 wounds, probably all 3 of which could have been fatal, and thus, overkill, not just defensive shots or those trying to cover up a robbery of a bicycle.
Defense can keep trying, but it will likely be an uphill battle with the Judge.

“Defense attorneys in their Frank’s challenge argued the arrest warrant for Armstrong was flawed, and that any statements she made to police while she was detained should be suppressed. In denying that motion the judge found no intentional misconduct by police, and further opined that even if the police had made false statements in the arrest warrant there was enough probable cause to justify her arrest.”

Thank you steeltowngirl for this article
Lots of details brought together.
I was wondering like others, how they knew she stood over her. JMO

Three bullet casings, marked “9mm JAG,” were on the floor by her body, which was facing up. Wilson had a laceration on her right index finger and another beneath her chin. She’d been shot twice in the head; a third bullet had entered her chest and exited her back. Crime scene investigators, who arrived soon after Cash discovered Wilson, would find the third bullet lodged in a cracked tile beneath her. Someone had stood over her and fired toward her heart.

I was able to find this definition from the San Antonio PD. I assume it's similar for Austin.

Family Disturbance Means an act of disorder or an act to destroy the tranquility or composure by a member of a family or household against another member of the family or household that has not yet escalated into an act of family violence.

In the early days, didn't the defense try to throw suspicion toward her former boyfriend? I wonder if that is the source of this.... It certainly seems that MW had a wonderful and supportive relationship with her immediate family.

Not sure if defense raised suspicion about the former boyfriend, but some posters here (early on) called attention to GS.

KA’s father pointed to CS’s other relationships.
Armstrong grew up in Livonia and was an athlete at Stevenson High School, WXYZ reports. Her parents defended her on "Good Morning America" Tuesday:

“It was obvious that he was cheating on Kaitlin with Miss. Wilson and perhaps other women as well,” Michael Armstrong said. "My question is where were those other women the night that Anna was killed?"

Does anyone know which witnesses are expected to be called by the prosecution today?

Yes, it was GS I was thinking of...

A reminder that Austin's own awesome Tony Plohetski is live tweeting the trial for the Austin American Statesman (@statesman) and KVUE.com
@tplohetski on twitter.

I think the trial resumes today (Thursday) at 9 am Central Time.

Kaitlin Armstrong Trial:

Good morning! We are on day two of witness testimony in the murder trial of #KaitlinArmstrong. I will live tweet the highlights below. Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom today.

Yesterday we heard from Mo Wilson's brother, Matthew. Also Caitlin Cash, the friend who found Mo's body and called 911. Also various first responders who arrived on scene, performed life saving measures and collected evidence.

It was an incredibly difficult day for family & friends in the gallery. Listening to the 911 call was heart-wrenching. And the body cam video was unbearable for the family. Mo's father kept his head down & plugged his ears. He later told me "he doesn't need to hear or see that."

Judge has taken her seat at the bench. Armstrong has just been escorted in. She is wearing a grey pantsuit and a blue blouse. There are three sheriff's deputies surrounding her. She is emotionless as she takes her seat. She is not handcuffed. She was not yesterday, either.

Must likely KA is wearing a concealed stun belt, leg restraints, etc. moo

The gallery of the courtroom is full, but not at capacity. Yesterday we saw a lot more spectators and cameras for opening statements. Jury is now taking their seats. The Wilson family has taken their seats behind the prosecutors.

The first witness for today is a continuation from when we left off last year, Homicide Detective Rolando Ramirez, Austin Police Department. Defense begins questioning.

Defense asking about the detective's process when investigating, including if he notes timecodes when he discovers new evidence. Also when he files his reports after investigating a scene. In this case, it appears the detective inadvertently changed the date on his report.

From detective: There is no routine/pattern/standard operating procedure for doing things, because every case is different. Defense really trying to grill about if policies were followed in this investigation. Detective saying that every crime scene investigation is different.

Defense questioning why detective didn't take measurements at the crime scene. Like how far the bike was discovered from apartment...how far car was parked from Ring doorbell? Detective says he doesn't find that information to be relevant.

"There's no reason to put it down because that's the way I did it," Detective Ramirez says.

There are physically no cameras in this courtroom. So you won't ever be able to see video or hear audio. Cameras only allowed for opening/closing, so at least you'll be able to see that. Every court in America is different and this was the judge's decision.

It's interesting to me how well-trained police officers are in testifying in front of a jury. The defense will ask a question, but Detective Ramirez will turn his attention & answer the Q directly to the jury. It's as if he's making eye contact with them all to explain himself.
