Maybe. Or he doesn’t know? Or he thought he did but they used a fake identity or contact? I guess if they’re checking his computers they can check emails etc? I don’t know how you find jobs if your self employed as a lorry driver?

They usually get on a list for those who ship commodities "Load Brokers", so they will shoot an email out to so many people saying I have a load of "X" and need it taken from Y to Z by this date/time and what they will pay. Anyone set up as a potential carrier for the load could then jump in and say they can take it, and go from there.

Police have raided a property in the Laurelvale area of Co Armagh in Northern Ireland after a murder investigation was launched, believed to belong to the lorry driver's parents

Officers were also seen outside this property in the Markethill area (above), believed to be where Mo Robinson lives, as they continue to investigate the 39 deaths

Whether he's innocent or guilty, just the fact that he's got mixed up in all this and is in questioning must be extremely stressful for his partner. I do hope she's doing okay and being supported and that her and the babies are all fine. :(
I know, being pregnant myself I can’t even begin to imagine!

I feel bad for her. She doesn't need this stress on top of carrying twins. Ugh.

I was just thinking the same. I hope she and the babies are alright, although this must be hugely stressful for her. I do hope she is able to get away from unwanted media attention.

THE 39 Chinese migrants whose bodies were found in a refrigerated lorry trailer in Essex had been dead for at least 12 hours before reaching the UK, it is claimed.
The trailer arrived at Purfleet from Zeebrugge in Belgium at around 12.30am on Wednesday after a ten-hour ferry ride.
Vehicles must arrive at the Belgian port around one and a half hours before the boat leaves.
The Mayor of Zeebrugge, Dirk De Fauw, insist the migrants were dead before they arrived at Zeebrugge, or they would have been detected by heat cameras.

If they died before the trailer was picked up at Purfleet, I can't see how the driver could be found guilty of murder, even if he is found to be complicit in the trafficking.

I have to say I think it outrageous that his name and photographs have been splashed all over the media before he's been charged. Even the BBC did so at an early stage. The BBC really has sunk to tabloid levels now. The Christopher Jefferies damages case may as well never have happened for all the lessons that have clearly not been learned.

Yes, the first thing I thought of when I saw his name and photo was Christopher Jefferies. I think it is awful his details have been released.

Congratulations @HayLouise let us know when baby arrives!

It's a truly horrible situation for his family, and Mo himself if he really was unaware of what he was transporting. I'm surprised to hear the 39 were from China, they had a looooong journey.

39 poor people dead , probably one of the biggest uk cases of the decade .

parents brought over by police .... never seen that before . Just my guess is he’ll talk after he’s explained his situation to his parents so they hear it from him not the media .

im still going on a young 25 year old with family on the way thinking he’ll make a big lump of money for just driving for 30 mins (within an organised plan) ..... what could go wrong as if caught before you’ve released them you’d plead complete ignorance. if something happened at the time ; you’ve heard a commotion and stopped and opened doors and you’ve been flooded by people running at you .

It’s gone so wrong , so very wrong , he’s 25 , the village love him and his family , he just wanted some extra money ..... he needs to tell his parents how it’s all gone badly wrong when he thought he was helping some fleeing people just get to England for a better life.

Now watch me be completely wrong tomorrow.... which normally happens !
