Far too many repeat articles posted to be able to go through them all on this thread. One single source would be a bit simpler for an old man like me

And that one single source is....drumroll......Websleuths!!

Mind your manners. If you take issue with what any member posts, rather than being rude or confrontational, just Report the post and let WS staff review it. If you cannot post with utmost respect, just don't post.

Bringing this forward.

I see that frozen .... is now being reported in inverted commas .... did anyone actually say the container was frozen? It is a "reefer" but may not have been on?

It’s not even that we have ‘repeat posts’ of articles, it’s different MSM reporting on the same stuff, just sometimes with added information or conflicting information, so I find it useful just to post them all..

There were reports the victims froze to death.

Does anyone have any info re the tractor unit delivering the container GTR1280 to Zeebrugge? Lots of info about it being collected in Purfleet .. and yet little about the delivery at the other end .. apart from a very precise time?

I'm wondering about that too, especially with that text about struggling to breathe. Doesn't have to have been cold, just being airtight would be enough.

Welcome, by the way!

I think the driver has been charged with murder as he was 'hands on ' and the rest were hands off

... charges are brought about on the evidence and ability to show the presence of the Actus Reus and Mens rea - the guilty act and the guilty mind / intent. So a murder charge implies he knew they were there and could reasonably have known that death or serious harm was a significant possibility for them (no sh*t Sherlock, not rocket science that one) and did it any way basically (an indirect intention...). He could have driven that lorry And been as hands on as he has been and yet had no knowledge whatsoever of his cargo and therefore innocent of any intent direct or otherwise...

Some of the 39 were updating family about the various stages of their journey. One had called to say she was getting into the container:

The 19-year-old’s brother told the BBC she called him early on Tuesday to say she was getting into a container and would be switching her phone off to avoid being caught. They had not heard from her since and the people smugglers had since returned money to the family. Relatives of the 26-year-old, with whom she was travelling with, had also been given some money back.

Vietnamese family fears daughter may be among Essex lorry victims

So basically the police will already know where and when they were loaded on board, and then it's a case of who closed those doors and locked them in.

I'm stunned by this refund thing. Not sure what to think about it. Almost seems like a slap in the face, "case closed". Surely these financial transactions will be trackable?

He hasn't been charged yet so we shall see. I'm still very much on the fence about how much knowledge Mo had. I do think it's very odd that he opened the doors though, given what we know about food cargo having to remain sealed until the point of delivery.

How has he murdered them? He picked it up 10 minutes before he pulled up round the corner, these victims were sealed with no oxygen on a boat for a minimum of 10 hours, they were all probably dead before docking at the port, but he is involved in the ring in my opinion, he just got caught with a load of bodies he was hoping to release but that isn't actually murdering someone with intent.

You don't need intent for charges. IF, and a big if right now, he agreed to do the final leg of the journey he is 100% getting a charge.

The person arrested at Stansted, has this person been named? I read online that his parents house has also been raided and they were due to fly to England to support their son. I see the age of the person arrested at the airport has been stated online in various news articles.

Do we have a timeline here on this thread yet which would fit in this time?
I haven't got a time line but it's a 10 hour sail and the boat landed at Tilbury at 00:30, work back from that and it gives you an approx sailing time from Zeebrugge.

It would be a brave person who named him after the Deputy Chief Constable's latest comments.

I think you're talking about 2 different people. 48 year old arrested at Stansted.

Mo Robinson, age 25. His parents were flown in. Their house was reportedly searched. If I recall correctly, 3 residences searched in connection with Mo.
