GUILTY UK - Alesha MacPhail, 6, raped & murdered, Ardbeg, Isle of Bute, Scotland, 2 Jul 2018 -*arrest* #8

Thanks those who mentioned it was on Youtube, I appreciate a channel which makes their content available to those of us without pay tv, so I might watch more of their programmes now. Although it was certainly sensationalised, about Channel 5 level of quality, which was a shame, I'd like to see a thoughtful documentary about this case, which goes into depth about his background, and maybe shows a bit of how he got onto that path. The impression this documentary gave was that he had no previous history, and yet I'm sure I recall at least one allegation in the newspapers about him attacking a family friend's child, and wasn't there some talk of him being known to social services? I'd very much like to have known more of his background, and what those who knew him thought about him.

Perhaps BBC or Channel 4 or someone can do a more serious one sometime, as this one was ok for people who didn't know about the case but really didn't go into the causes beyond pointing at the popular bogeyman of the era in gaming. At least at the end they did mention that people can use violent games to let off steam and it may not cause it but considering all the buildup, that was rather halfhearted. I've always felt those with violent tendencies already are likely to be attracted to violent media - not that the media makes them violent.

Just watched the documentary, typical Channel 5. Very poorly thrown together, even had someone reading an article out loud, sure I could do that myself. Too much emphasis on video games and "the effects of violent video games" is even in the title... I don't think video games or drugs had anything to do with the crime whatsoever.

Like others have said, I do still wish we had a more in depth documentary but I don't think that will ever happen. Justice was done for Alesha and I think the people of Bute want to forget Aaron Campbell even exists

What an animalistic attack. This sick puppy murdered a helpless child after first subjecting her to sadistic sexual assault including forcible sodomy. There is no treatment means to insure this individual can ever be made less dangerous. He is a dangerous, savage animal and as such is best kept in a cage forever. Rant over.

This added nothing for me except it was good to see the views of Bute as I find it hard to picture where he ran with her and the distance etc. It's hard to work out from Google maps etc!

I watched the kids who kill documentary and I have to say it was disappointing. The experts who were speaking didn’t seem to know much about the case before hand it all sounded very scripted and rehearsed. It’s hard to explain but it didn’t feel like they were speaking from the heart, the emotion wasn’t there which I found strange because this is such a heartbreaking case.

Yes I also felt they were trying to force the emotion which made me cringe a bit. Especially the brown haired female. She looked like she was trying to act really shocked and confused by what had happened too and it didn’t seem genuine to me.

Has anyone downloaded or saved any of aarons YouTube videos. I never got chance to watch any of them before his accounts were removed. I think they would be a good insight into his mind and psychology.

I think they're still on Youtube. To be honest, they just show a 'normal' boy.

They certainly dont scream psychopathic child rapist/sadistic murderer that's for sure!

They're definitely not on YouTube his account was removed a few days after his conviction last year. Someone reuploaded like 2 of his videos, but someone earlier in the thread before his conviction said his account had over 188 videos. All of which now seem to be lost forever.

Yeah, only those two are available, the rest are gone. There’s also one with his friend when he was like 12 if you type in Poison3dAppl3 Slender.

Plus the video in this article has a snippet of one of his earlier vlogs too:

Alesha killer Aaron Campbell was a snivelling vlogger desperate for fame

Apart from that I’m pretty sure they’re lost for good.

That's what I meant - the two that's on there. Sorry, I thought you hadn't seen any.

Looking back on that video when he was very young in his bedroom, he comes across as being quite intelligent for his age. IMO

Damn. Itll always bug me I never watched the videos. Does anyone remember when his last upload was before the murder? And what the contents of the video were?

Yeah, I agree, he does. He did come across as quite articulate and smart from the videos I watched, nice actually especially in his comments to people I remember reading as well, not at all would I expect him to go from that to what he did.

Yeah, I saw some of them but I wish I had seen the rest of them too. Yes, April 2017. It was him on his trampoline.

Anyone see the one when he was just back from holiday? He seemed like a bright and articulate boy.

  • #278
Yes, vaguely remember it; think it was the Spanish holiday. I know it's a huge understatement, but isn't the brain an incredibly complex piece of tech! And that's when it's working normally. I suppose his close friends will never understand what happened. They're the ones that he was probably closest too and spoke more too at that age. IMO

Do you remember roughly what date the video was posted?

Can anyone confirm if this was aaron Campbells twitter or not Aaron Campbell (@JailbaitGaming) on Twitter
His names Aaron Campbell, lives in Scotland, appears to be a kid/teenagers account promoting a gaming channel and posts links to a now dead YouTube channel.
