GUILTY UK - Arthur Labinjo Hughes, 6, killed, dad & friend arrested, June 2020 #3

i presumed children's names on the tattoos

I just can't grasp their attitudes towards a six year old "he's beat us up" "he's head butted me, he's kicked me". She's talking as if it's a grown man, he's a boy. Even if it were true, which it wasn't, if a six year old hits or punches you it's not going to be a big deal, they're not very strong! I just can't grasp their mentality towards a small child

I bet the tattoos are ex’s names, done early in the relationship as part of a “love bombing” strategy

I always assumed her last issues of suicide attempt jump and running away - were desperate attempts to stop her previous victims (partners) escaping her.

I agree re the 999 call - nowhere does she ask if Arthur will be ok, what can she do to save him, there was no desperation in her voice for him. The 999 call for her was purely a means to get her false narrative in asap - it’s all me me me I did this and that and it’s all Arthur’s fault…. I agree the tone is excitable and she even talks over the first aid advice to insist he did this to himself.

I honestly believe that she turned on him the minute his dad was out of the door. Dad left with the other kids and Arthur tried to run away with him, knowing exactly what torture awaits when he’s alone with Tustin. His dad is physically abusive yes - but Arthur would prefer to be with him in public than alone in the house with Tustin.
Tustin is enraged by this and the punishment for attempting to escape is being dragged upstairs and forced to swallow a slurry of salt in the bathroom. Then she hauled him downstairs to stand in hallway. I believe Arthur fell and stumbled in the stairs due to her shoving him - possibly hitting his head at the bottom. I believe this because she said that Arthur pushed her in the stairs at the hairdressers. Reverse her narrative and you get to the truth. His inability to stand properly at the bottom of the stairs would have enraged her, causing her to “lose her f******* s***” as the prosecutor so cleverly stated and beat him to death. Realising it’s gone too far and blame will be pinned on her, she sets about looking as if she was trying to help him, carrying him into the room where the camera is rolling….

The whole situation is incomprehensible to everyone, because very very few people truly understand the psychology of the twisted world of a narcissist. Narcissists create an elaborate illusory world, and where black is white and white is black, where they can do no wrong and are perfect, and where 6 year old boys are destructive monsters who require severe punishment for all manner of infractions. ET will have set about persuading all those closest to her to wholeheartedly subscribe to this illusory “reality”, they will be tested time and time again to ensure that their levels of delusion are acceptable to the narcissist. Anyone who “fails” the tests and doesn’t subscribe to the fantasy world is ruthlessly cut off, exiled. Hence both of ET and TH’s families being isolated from the couple.

ET knew exactly what she was doing. She did is all expertly, deliberately and successfully and even used the police and social workers to do her evil bidding.

Her mugshot is defiant, resolute, outraged, determined to clear herself of all blame. TH’s mugshot is gormless, stunned, he is quavering between the horrific reality of the situation of his own unwitting creation, and his delusion that ET is “Mother Teresa,” the pinnacle of womanhood and bearer of his precious unborn child.

To understand and identify the nature of a narcissist is to understand how this outcome was almost inevitable, when weak people fall into the clutches of someone so powerful and insidious, and devoid of all human sympathy. A true psychopath if there ever was one.

Her mugshot, to me, says petulance and defiance beyond the coldhearted stare. She is angry that her story has not been believed and knows she has a battle ahead. His mugshot appears vacuous - switched off.
In the bodycam video - he is showing some signs of stress and disbelief at the situation, but his stance comes across as protective of her, whilst not engaging in eye contact, vocal or physical support. She has confidence though, from his protective stance, and falters when he moves away - although I think this might be because he has moved away to talk to someone and she doesn’t want to miss what is being said (wants control) Her tears and frustrations later in the video are because she is starting to see that she is going to be challenged so there is an element of panic as she is increasing her accusations against Arthur.
Am I right thinking this video would have been after the hospital and just before they were arrested?
MOO

No this was right after Arthur’s collapse. He was still at the house being treated.

No, he went to the hospital with Arthur, or followed the ambulance. He was arrested either at the hospital or went straight from the hospital to the police station and was arrested there, but he didn't go back home before his arrest.

I agree she’s definitely narcissistic but I do think there’s BPD in there.

Police are often sent before paramedics to anything deemed domestic/possibly suspicious.

She certainly seemed to have plenty of money - constant takeaways, hair appointments, hot tub in the garden etc.

I wonder what will happen to her other two children. Not sure if bio father will be deemed a fit parent..

Also, going forward, bearing in mind the crime of which she is convicted, will she be allowed to see her children in due course?

Let’s hope not. She will only attempt to brainwash them which is emotional child abuse.

And alot of evil. I dont even care anymore what kind of personality disorder she has. She is just an evil demon in my eyes. I dont usually say that about people, but i think she is just born wicked

Thanks SpursGyal. There's a little bit more under the photo which I'll copy over.

Today we told how Villa and Blues fans are uniting to pay touching match-day tributes to the six-year-old, who has touched the hearts of the nation.

Blues fans are fundraising to buy a huge flag with his smiling face on, while Villa supporters are looking to hold a 6th minute round of applause.

great post, that makes me understand it a lot better. i think he was infatuated with her and anything would fly in their relationship. if she said today was Sunday he'd believe her. Poor poor Arthur

I agree with you, her mugshot exudes petulance and arrogance. He looks vacant. I think the bodycam was taken soon after the ambulance arrived at the house. I wonder if police are called automatically when kids get hurt?

Our reporter back in court ahead of sentencing
Good morning.

Our reporter Carl Jackson is back at Coventry Crown Court ahead of the sentencing.

Judge Wall requested the legal counsel and defendants to be present for 10am but we expect the actual hearing to get underway from 11.30am

Tustin faces life sentence

Emma Tustin on police body worn camera after Arthur's attack (Image: CPS)

A few of the barristers have been spotted milling around the court but no sign of any family members at this stage.

Judge Wall also told the jurors yesterday that they were welcome back to attend today's hearing.

They deliberated for six hours and 15 minutes in total before returning their verdicts shortly before 4pm.

Tustin, convicted of murder and all four child cruelty offences, will receive a life sentence. Judge Wall must determine how long she must serve in prison as a minimum term before she is eligible for parole.

Hughes, found guilty of manslaughter and two of the four cruelty counts, is also expected to spend a considerable time in jail. Anyone sentenced to seven years or more will have to serve two thirds of the term in custody before release.

i'm also interested to know why the cops were there.
Child’s been injured at home, then add Tustins bizarre narrative and there’s enough for it to be considered that police should attend. They usually arrive before paramedics to make sure it’s safe for the paramedics to enter. It’s the same if it’s a DV call. Plus there have been an increasing amount of attacks on paramedics, last year or maybe the year before 2 paramedics were attacked during a welfare check. So I expect to see police attending to become more common.

I've been looking back through the BM live blog to see if I can find any details about police arriving at the house and just came across this from the prosecutor, right at the beginning - Day 2

" A person who intentionally encourages another to commit a crime is known as an accessory or second party. The fundamental principle in law is that the accessory is guilty of the same offence as the principal. It's because he shares the culpability because he intentionally encouraged the offence. Mr Hughes is charged as a second party. "

I'll continue looking for info about the police
