And i dont even think she is really remorseful even now. To say "the f###er tried to escape" to her cellmate, shows her true feelings for Arthur even after all this time. Isnt it such a pity the little guy didnt manage to get out that door, he tried to escape 4 times and to think he was left in the hall for all those hours right beside the door, so close to freedom. Horrible to think of.

Adding to that, she has fully stood in court blaming Arthur for his own death. She admits she’s been cruel but continues with “I couldn’t be bothered”, “wasn’t my responsibility”. I’d be absolutely devastated if any child (or adult) passed away in front of me, I’d be an absolute mess. For it to be medically concluded that Arthur suffered non accidental injuries and to still stand there with such a blasé attitude is beyond astounding and tells you a lot about her as a person, in my opinion.

I think her first two kids were taken off her even before the suicide attempt. I think it said somewhere she hasnt seen them in over 10 years. They are both with their fathers.

Thank you for that info, it is something that has been playing on my mind.

i really hope an attorney asks was arthur screaming for nothing or did she actually hurt him or say something to him to make him cry and scream, so that she could record him and then text his dad saying " listen/look at him doing this". I really believe she hurt arthur or said cruel thing to make him cry. I would be interested to hear from dad if he actually was in arthurs presents all day and actually heard arthur do these things. I really think he just believed her when she told him things. I think she put salt in his food so when he went to eat it he spat it out in front f the dad and she could say "look i told you he did this, this is why hes losing weight"

I was up most of the night last night thinking about how any of them could be that cruel and what arthur thought he had done to deserve this.

I missed this before. When she was taken into custody she was smashing her head against things. That’s where she got the idea to say that Arthur was doing this to himself.

“When Tustin was later arrested on suspicion of murder by police officers, she said: "Well you better get his dad here then."

The court heard Tustin hit her head on the cell wall and lay on her back on the floor but was not unconscious. She had also banged her head on the floor.”

When I read that TH slapped Arthur when he came to the kitchen and he was eating fish and chips while the boy was hungry,
or when he shredded the boy's most precious possession (football tshirt) in front of him,
or sent text to ET "Im waiting naked in bed" (Yuk!!!) while his son was sleeping on concrete floor (he didnt have his own bed!!!) ,
I really dont know who was worse - both are monsters, both deserve each other!

Banging one's head against a surface is a sure sign of mental disturbance.

Banging one's head against a surface is a sure sign of mental disturbance.

Both ET and TH did this while in custody. I believe TH stated in one of his police interviews that he had “tried to do what Arthur had done to himself and it was impossible”, that’s not verbatim but something along them lines.

Interesting parallel here, regarding Hughes' ex-partner Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow.

These are the judge's words to her at sentencing for the manslaughter of her boyfriend Gary Cunningham -

Justice Tipples said: "There were weeks when you were together and weeks when you were apart. The relationship was toxic and included violence.

"There were fights. Gary was violent to you and you were violent to Gary. It was not all one-way. You were as bad as each other.

"You told lie after lie about the extent of the violence inflicted on you by Gary. You completely exaggerated the physical violence in your relationship."

She stated Labinjo-Halcrow made a number of serious false accusations about the victim to make out Gary was 'responsible for his own death and deflect blame from yourself'. [...]

"You are an arch manipulator, to get what you wanted with who you wanted," said the judge.

Justice Tipples said: "The only person who knows what happened is you. However drunk and drugged you were that morning I'm quite sure you know what actually happened. You lied to the police when they arrived you told them nothing had happened.

"After you had been arrested you told them he had killed himself. You were taken out of the flat and walked past his dead body covered with a sheet. You didn't show a flicker of emotion. You stepped over his dead body."

Id like to know if ET first two children were removed from her care prior to the suicide attempt or after. I think that may give us a bit more information but I think these details may only come out after trial.
I think the way this is worded suggests the children were removed after -

"Tustin confirms she tried to kill herself by jumping from the sixth floor of a multi-storey car park.

She confirms she suffered fractures to her skull, pelvis and spine while her ankle was shattered.

Tustin states she was in hospital for five months. She confirms her two children went to live with their fathers and have not returned to live with her."

and earlier reports when her ex- SH testified as a witness -

"Mary Prior, defending Tustin, begins cross-examination by asking a series of questions.

She tells the court that shortly after the relationship with Mr Hawkins started, Tustin fell from a six-storey car park which resulted in her fracturing her skull, spine, both sides of her pelvis, and completely shattering her ankle.

Mr Hawklins confirms that is correct and describes her injuries as 'life-ending'.

He agrees that throughout their relationship Tustin struggled with her mental health because she suffered with depression and anxiety.

Mr Hawkins tells the court that he became Tustin's carer and looked after her children.

He confirms the situation caused a 'significant strain'."

All the people connected to this drama seem to come from social pathology environment.

I’ve been following this, but didn’t realise there was a thread here. So I’m a bit late to the discussions.

This case breaks my heart, I cannot comprehend the cruelty shown by ET and TH. I also do not understand why the pair got pregnant three times. Why on Earth would they bring a baby into the picture when they couldn’t be bothered/were busy torturing Arthur.

It’s suggestive, to me at least, that TH’s relationships have always centred around manipulative, emotionless, highly toxic women.

This doesn’t absolve him of his part in Arthur’s revolting treatment in the slightest, but perhaps gives an insight into how his relationship with ET and the power dynamic seemed almost “normal” to him.

I don’t know, just pondering…

I personally don’t think these children were conceived out of love. I think they were conceived for ulterior motives - namely, being another weapon used against Arthur and furthermore, being used as a manipulation tactic to cement ET and TH relationship.

I just cannot see why, when Arthur stated he wanted to live with his grandparents and when it is clear that grandparents would’ve jumped at the opportunity, these two thought it was better to “win” an imaginary and nonexistent war…..

I agree, they were conceived as so form of control maybe. I think they kept Arthur for the benefits they most likely received for him, as horrible as that sounds.

Has ET finished testifying yet or will she be back on the stand tomorrow? And has TH testified yet ?

I’m not entirely sure on the benefit angle regarding Arthur. I think that would be dependent on the hours TH worked and the money he earned, he may well have been topped up with universal credit. He would have received child benefit which is around the £20 pw mark I believe.

I just don’t know and cannot find any solid reason for the how’s or why’s this happened.

I think she’s still going. He hasn’t testified yet, his police statements have been read out however. Which also confuses me as to how he’s pleaded not guilty when he has admitted absolutely everything in his interviews?

I cannot see how either of these have the gall to take this to trail if I’m honest!

So - will he be cross examined by
1. Prosecution,
2 . ET defence,
3. His defence,
right?

So far ET was cross examined by TH defence and the Prosecutor I think.
Or did I miss her Defence?
