After sentencing I would really like to see that dashcam video.

From the moment the journey began if possible.

He’s blaming his legal team now !

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about specifically what he's said. I don't trust unnamed "sources" reported in the press.

Personally, I think he just lost his rag for whatever reason. Just really weird, tbh.

And he's an IT consultant described as an "ethical hacker", apparently? Weird.

The DM just had to get the value of his house in there, of course!

I'm not sure we'll ever see that. It's copyright of him and it seems highly unlikely that he'll chose to release it.

I don’t think we will see it, maybe the earlier part of his journey but the parade itself surely not.

That article from the Mirror reads like he had already picked up his friend. I presume I am misunderstanding?

Some additional info on him here.

It appears that Mr Doyle might be what UK military types refer to as a 'Bloater', which is somebody who served but exaggerates their service, as opposed to a 'Walt', who never served but pretends they did.

That article is just so weird. He seems perfectly normal and respectable (other than exaggerating his military career) and in no way the type to do something like this.

I think he had dropped the friend off earlier then went back for them and that’s when it happened.
He’s clearly just absolutely lost it but he sounds like a real Walter Mitty to me.

Paul Doyle ploughed into the crowd
'in a rage'
in Liverpool city centre on May 26 during seven minutes of chaos.

The 54-year-old 'lost his temper'
and 'intended to cause serious harm'
when he drove into more than 100 fans after the parade,
Liverpool Crown Court was told.

Doyle could be heard screaming
'f***ing p****s'
as pedestrians pulled their children out of the way of his car
to stop them being hit.

The footage,
which will not be released by the authorities because of its graphic nature,
showed the windscreen smash after a man landed on it."

😵‍💫

He's disgusting. Hope he's not free again to be honest.

“In part 10, we will deal with the defendant’s record of previous convictions."

This sounds to me as if he has previous convictions?

Snipped from the live blog.....

“Shortly afterwards, the defendant’s friend sent him a further message, asking whether he, the defendant, wanted Dave Clark and his family to walk anywhere.
The defendant informed the system that he did not want to reply

Dave Clark sent Paul Doyle a message to say that the defendant might find the area where the family was, which was in the area of Castle Street, blocked.

And that one piece of evidence is what, to me, condemns him absolutely. He could easily have parked further up the city centre and collected the Clarks in safety.
