How many artists do they have in that courtroom?
At Least two. Elizabeth Cook is the one I posted above and there's one from Julia Quenzler but I can't find it at the moment.

The former seems to produce more flattering depictions of male defendants than she does of female ones.

MOO, obvs!

He's changed his pleas! He's now pleading guilty to the entire indictment!

I had a feeling he might.
This was never a trial imho.

Sentencing date set for December 15 and 16

Mr Greaney says that arrangements will need to be made in order to allow the victims to attend Doyle’s sentencing and for the preparation of victim personal statements.

It is suggested that Doyle can now be sentenced on December 15 and 16.

But WHAT was the defence going to be ?
We will never know now.

We will never know now.
We might get some idea from his attempts at mitigation during sentencing I guess?

We might glean something of what the defence might have been from what is said in mitigation at sentencing.

Crown Prosecution Service Mersey-Cheshire Chief Crown Prosecutor Sarah Hammond said in a statement the convictions "bring a measure of justice for an act that caused unimaginable harm during what should have been a day of celebration for the city of Liverpool".

She said his "deliberate actions" endangered lives and "brought chaos upon a community", leaving a total of 134 people injured, including eight children as young as six months.

"This attack did not just harm individuals - it struck at the heart of a city united in joy, leaving fear in its wake," she said.

Hammond said by his guilty pleas Doyle accepts he "intentionally drove into crowds of innocent people" with dashcam footage showing "he became increasingly agitated by the crowds".

"Rather than wait for them to pass, he deliberately drove at them, forcing his way through," she says.

"Driving a vehicle into a crowd is an act of calculated violence. This was not a momentary lapse by Paul Doyle - it was a choice he made that day and it turned celebration into mayhem."

But why did he do it? Just to move people out of his way?!

I guess he might have been going with some far-fetched defence of some sort of mental event or something?

He's stupid, he had every opportunity to plead to that ages ago. I guess whatever credit he'll get to pleading now will be minimal.

There's got to be more going on. Why did he even turn into that street to begin with?

"A former marine
who injured 134 people by driving his car into crowds at Liverpool's victory parade
has pleaded guilty to all charges on the first day of his trial.

Paul Doyle, 54,
appeared in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court
where he was charged with 31 offences related to the incident on May 26.

He previously denied all offences
but sobbed as he pleaded guilty to all 31 counts he faced.

Doyle, of Croxteth, Liverpool,
appeared inconsolable and gasped repeatedly as the counts he faced were read out by the court clerk one by one.

As the charges continued to be put to him,
Doyle's voice shook and he could scarcely utter the word 'guilty'.
Afterwards,
he sat slumped in his seat in the dock.

A two-day sentencing hearing
is set to be begin on December 15."
